What A Bullshit Customer Service At Carrefour Sri Petaling

23 November 2009 @ 9.00 p.m.
I went to Carrefour Seri Petaling to do some groceries and decided that I wanted to buy a headphone. After making my selection, I headed to the cashier counter to pay for the item. The girl at the cashier asked me whether I want to test the item first and ask me to head to the test counter. At least she is polite to serve me before I purchase the item.

At the counter there is one girl waiting for the guy manning the test counter to test a new iron that she is buying. Both are Malays. Yes, the same race as I am- Melayu. He tested the iron and then ask the girl to go to the cashier counter to get the Warranty Card endorsed.

While packing back the iron, he was telling the girl to go and wait for him at the motorcycle park. When the girl was walking towards the cashier counter, the guy again reminded the girl to go and wait for him at the motorcycle park. Maybe she is his girlfriend. I thought it was my turn to get my headphone tested. To my surprise he just left me there and leaves while snooping away as if not wanting his supervisor to see him. Well, I was quite stunned. I wave to another girl, a sales assistant I think wearing the red vest with the famous Carrefour question behind, "May I help you?". The girl too just stood there looking at me as if I am just a puppet being controlled from the ceiling by my puppetter. What a bullshit customer Carrefour has.

Then there was another incident and also involving headphone at the same location. That happened a few weeks ago. I was interested in the earplug headphone when I saw the price tag RM 9.90. When I went to the cashier to pay for the item, the cash machine registered RM 13.90. I complained why the price on the shelve is lower than the one registered. I went to counter check and it was RM 9.90. An assistant went with me to check and he said the tagging was wrong and pulled out the price tag. Is it my fault when Carrefour puts a wrong price tag and just to say sorry, wrong tag. I held on to my principle that the customer is always right and I just walk away without buying the phone telling him and her that I decided to buy because of the price. And The last word I said was, "Nak tipu customer..."

Have You Voted For Me?

For the last few days I have been neglecting this blog because I am concentrating on another blog .....as I travel posting entries for Blog4FT contest. To date I already have 40 posts about Kuala Lumpur and Labuan either base on my past travel or the recently collected information. The contest is still running until 5th of January 2010 and the prize is quite luxurious. What I want to do is to keep myself on the top 10 contributors because by being there, my blog will always be visible on the first page whenever someone visits. I just can't depend on the random entries because blogs listed are picked at random and my name is not always there.

I hope you can help vote for my blogs. 30% of the points will come from readers vote while another 70 from panel of judges.

Tested P1 On Maxis

This is my P1 Wimax speed test done at 11.06 p.m tonight. Done on Maxis Broadband.

Blogging for Blog4FT

Yesterday I went to The Pavillion in Bukit Bintang to claim my TGIF voucher that I won during the Nuffnang Project Alpha blog contest. I have to do that fast because the validity date is 16th November 2009. I wrote a post about this trip but am not going to post it here since I have published it as an entry for the Blog4FT blogging contest. The entry was posted at my travel blog As I Travel.....
You can click on the banner below to go straight to that posting and if you are generuous enough, please also vote for me. And, not only this particular blog but also all the other blogs that I had entered so far.

After the Nuffnang Project Alpha ends, now I turn my concentration to the Blog4FT contest that will end on 5th January 2010. While concentrating on the NPA contest, I do neglect a few days the Blog4FT.

When I log in to the website again, I found that there is some improvements where there is a Top 10 contributors. After coming back from Bukit Bintang yesterday, I sit in front of my computer and start blogging. All the effort paid and I manage to put my name as the top 10 contributors. Today I published another blog and at the time of writing this post, I have made to the 5 rank with 19 blogs so far. I still have another blog in draft and hope to get published soon.

I know it will be very difficult to make it to the top three but I hope to make it to at least better than 5ft rank. However there is no prize for top contributors but by being listed as the Top 10, will make my blog always be visible on the front page and hope will get votes coming in. I just can't depend on being listed in the random blog entries because there are times when my blog is not on the list.

Today, I go out to KL again and this time to Pertama Complex. I sat at the Beriani Bistro facing the MARA Building and posted one blog. I surf using the FREE wireless@KL network. Of course the speed is faster than my Maxis Broadband that I use to get connected at home and way way way much better than P1Wimax. For the last 5 days I can't even get any page loaded using that network.

Today I published another series of my blog Walking Walking Kuala Lumpur and click the banner below to read it.

Its Friday 13th

Today is Friday the 13th.
No superstitions please.

Mona Lisa In Coffee

Its amazing to see how artists portray their skills in ways to create their own identity and popularity. In Sydney an artist and his assistants 'paint' the Mona Lisa using 3,604 cups of coffee blended with different amount of milk to create the colour tones. It was a project organized at Rocks Aroma Festivals in Sydney,  Australia and was seen by 130,000 people who attended the one-day coffee lovers event.

The painting, measuring 20 feet high and 13 feet wide took a team of eight people three hours to complete.

Watch you tube video below:

Boyourennaisanceman's blog wrote verbatim;

Elaine Kelly, from organisers the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, was delighted with the result.

She said: ‘Each coffee cup was filled with varying amounts of milk to create the different sepia shades of the painting.

‘We wanted to create an element of surprise and a sense of fun in the way we engaged with the public.

‘Once we had the idea of creating an image out of coffee cups we searched for something iconic to reproduce - and opted for the most iconic painting in history.

All the seven weekly winners have been announced and out of two entries that I entered for week six and week seven, I only won fifth placing for week six. Fifth means just a consolation prize worth RM430.00. Like it or not I still have to be satisfied that I had won something compared to other bloggers whose entry did not win.

Week 1  - 4th prize
Week 3  - 10th prize
Week 5  - 1st prize

Now just waiting to see who won the Grand Prize and go to Chelsea with Jojo Struys to watch English Premier League.

Waaa.....with this winning, I have 13 tickets to Sunway Lagoon for all Parks and 30 ticket to Pyramid Ice. Now I am thinking how to use the Pyramid Ice tickets before its expired date on 31 December 2009. Besides those I also won two TGIF vouchers that expires this 16th November and I plan to use it this weekend while going out to look for subjects to write entries for the Blog4FT blogging contest. Broadband : I am Not Alone When P1 Wimax Sucks

Seems that I am not all alone facing the stress of using P1Wimax broadband service and Maxis Broadband. I have posted a few entries in this blog before and even on my Twitter and Facebook to vent my anger to send a message to Green Packet that their broadband service sucks. In this entry, I copy and paste two complain letters sent to the Editor of  NST .complaining about poor broadband service too.

I just wonder why PM is so anxious to proceed with Mega Speed Internet when the service provider can't even solve basic broadband service.

My P1Wimax experience is just all nightmare. Even though if the signal shows green, I still couldn't get the first page loaded , what more to carry out the speed test. I sent a twitter message #P1Wimax but there is no response. However they are very efficient about reminding me of my subscription due date by sending an email and SMS to my phone but service is taik kuching.

BROADBAND: Have quality checks on their services

2009/11/09
L.K.K. , Petaling Jaya
I HAVE been a Maxis mobile broadband subscriber since February last year.
As a heavy user, I find the quality and availability of this service are getting from bad to worse, even in populated areas and commercial centres in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur where I live and work.

I am experiencing very slow upload and download speeds (it takes up to 10 minutes to send a 1MB file and up to a minute to open a single webpage).

Disconnection occurs every five to 10 minutes.

Many Maxis customers have experienced the same problem. There were two other occasions this year when I had to complain to Maxis that I could not even log in into the network.

The reason is obvious. Maxis is not investing enough to increase the speed and bandwidth of its 3G and 3.5G networks.
Therefore, when there are many users in the same area, broadband speed slows.

If Malaysia wants to be a leading country in information and communication technology, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission must enforce key performanceindicators by conducting regular field tests on service providers, be it mobile, wireless or cable.

Service must be up to mark in terms of quality, measured on the basis of average upload and download speeds, and overall availability of service over a specific period in a populated area.

Those who fail the tests should be given a heavy penalty for non-compliance.

The commission should also encourage service providers to invest in new technologies with higher connection speeds and wider bandwidth to replace networks that will soon become obsolete.

Japan and Korea have done well in this aspect as otherwise they would not be recognised as the few countries in the world with leading information technology and wide broadband adoption.

BROADBAND SERVICE: It's our right to demand our money's worth

YUVARAJ, Kuala Lumpur
I REFER to L.K.K.'s complaint about broadband services ("Broadband: Have quality checks on their services" -- , NST, Nov 9) and would like to relate my experience with another broadband service provider.

I live in Sri Segambut and have been a P1 Wimax subscriber since February.

I am not a heavy user but my two sons, who are college students, use this service regularly.

Initially, we were impressed and satisfied with the P1 Wimax service. But for the past few months, we have been experiencing very slow speeds (both upload and download).

The service is also not stable. On some days, we have experienced interruptions for many hours.

My sons have checked with their friends living in Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya and found that they, too, have experienced the same problems with the P1 Wimax service.

I am very disappointed with the failure of P1 Wimax to provide reliable service to its subscribers.

As L.K.K. says, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) must ensure that broadband service providers do not fail their subscribers.

It is the responsibility of the MCMC to conduct regular and thorough checks on all the Internet service providers and impose penalties for non-compliance.

After all, when these service providers are prompt in demanding their payments on the due date, why should their subscribers not demand that the services provided are also prompt and reliable?

With the poor service by Green Packet I wonder why they are given the licence to operate G4 service.

Mega Speed Huh?

The front page news is so nice to hear. This is the front page news today. The same was being told to us when we are going into wimax internet. After the service rolls out, subscribers get shit speed from P1.

Waa...So Frightening

I picked out this news report from a twitter message. When the mainstream media praising the 2010 budget tabled by our Finance Minister, people on the street smiles too. But they did not see the undercurrent. I am not going to cut and paste everything in this entry but if you want to see the undercurrent GO HERE.

Get Paid To Click -2

For the past few days since 1 November, I spend more of my time on the email and clicking advertisements. Its the get paid to click activity. If you check at the top and bottom of this blog you can see some advertisement banners. Thats the my get paid to click accounts that I have registered to.

The website send links for me to click into my email box. When I click the link it will direct me to another website. As soon as the website is displayed there is a message  on top 'Thank you for supporting our sponsors!. You will receive XXXX cents(s), once you have visited this sponsor's site for at least XX seconds.'After leaving the site for the required time duration the message change to "Your account has been credited. Thank you."

I was discussing with a friend this morning just to clear our curiosity. How and where these companies get the money to pay members. As a free member I do not have to pay a single cent to them and yet they are paying members between $50 - $ 100 for having the advertiser's website running on my computer for the given time duration. On top of that they even pay sign-up bonus between $200 -$500 per member besides $20 -$50 for referrals.

If all goes well and the company do honour their pledge, I might be able to request for payout by the end of November and receive my check by end of 2009. After 10 days of registering on one of the site, I had already  accumulated $9,300.00 in my account. It will be another $15,700 before I can request for payout from this site:

mailsmoney.net

The big question is, am I going to get the money? Is this legal? This company is based in the US. I just don't know the answer until I actually receive and clear my check or get nothing at all. If I did not receive any money after being eligible for payout, I will loose that $25,000. in numbers but not in physical money. In fact I do not loose any money but just a few minutes a day checking my email and click the advertisers website. So I have nothing to loose. Even though I did not spend my time clicking and let the website run on my laptop, I will waste my time on something else too.

Now I can only dream what I am going to do with the money (LOL). Buy paintball e-marker (which will be the top priority for now), Go for holidays? Buy  new car? The dream will not end. BUT if only the money really comes.

So if you think you want a good dream like me, you too can join by clicking the banner provided. You get the sign-up bonus, I get the referral bonus.

Err 99 On My Canon

At first I was wondering why my camera did not click when I pressed the shutter release button. On flash mode, the flash signal keeps blinking but the shutter was not released. However one I found out that the autofocus is not working and thats the problem for the shutter not released. Problem one detected.

A few days ago another message pops up on my viewing screen. OMG, I have been loosing what I snap prior to the Err 99 message.

Posted the question on twitter with the hope some camera enthusiast will read and response. Also posted on Facebook and at the time of writing this entry there has been no repsonse. Perhaps I must change my name and profile picture to a voluptuous sexy lady with boobs showing the deep cleavage. Hahaha, just joking. After sending a direct question to a paintball friend mojosh, did he replied that he had that error on his camera before. Thanks mojosh (when going to ASTAKA to shoot paint again?).

However when the error message flashed on the screen, I do follow the instruction but just can snap one or two more times before the error message pops up again. So lucky that both problem arises when the camera is under warranty. Oh....its just a Canon EOS 1000D

Then I decided to google and found some answers that cool down my stress level a bit with the solution for Err 99. Read HERE. Another site worth visiting regarding this message is HERE.

The String Quite Lethal To Flying Objects

Woke up this morning and saw this through my bedroom window.

Its a bird so unfortunate to run into a kite string and get its left wing entangled. The string was there for sometimes but there is no way of getting rid of it. The top is stuck to the apartment's roof while the lower end on a tree top. I never have thought that such a string can be so lethal to flying object. Perhaps must put warning beacon on it.

The bird is still alive and struggling to break free but seems to no avail. While struggling to get free, insects starts to feast of the food that is still alive (Pic below).

I climbed on to the apartment's roof top so see whether I can cut the string loose so the bird can fall to the ground and can be freed. However there is no way to access the rooftop since there is a high wall on all four sides of the water tank and lift service room.

My NPL Grand Finale.

This weekend (Saturday and Sunday) is filled with a healthy activity for me. Its sports and its paintball again. Oops can I say it as again because this is the only sport I play now at this age. I do not play any other sports now and some people might wonder why of all the games to be chosen from, I opted for paintball, an extreme sports suitable for young people due to its energy demand and one need to be very agile to play. I just don't know the answer myself but my first involvement, at first just to get the taste, turn out to be addiction.

On both days I was at MAPAAC, ASTAKA in Petaling Jaya to shoot paints. This time around its not just the ordinary paint shooting but the Final Leg of the MY NPL Paintball Paintball League. With this participation its my third time participating  in one of the major paintball league in Malaysia. My first participation was the first leg  followed by the 4th leg in Malacca. On both previous leg I play with my own team, YAKUZA and only during the first leg we made it to the sweet sixteen out of 28 teams. Considered not bad since our team were formed not even a month before, that is during the Advertlets Paintball tournament for bloggers. On top of  that three of us are first timers playing paintball.

This time around only me and Yakuza team captian, Marcus played with Feva Division as invited players. The   teams performance can be considered as quite excellent since the team is a first timer with My NPL eventhough they have been playing the sports for sometimes and had entered the ISSC Super Seven earlier this year.

During the preliminary round we played six games and won four. We lost to experience teams of BPMB Espada anda XO Dust. Feva division managed to get ninth placing and proceed to the sweet sixteen. For sweet sixteen, sixteen teams will play best of three back to back. With our rank in the prelim we meet eighth placing Dominators. This team was also one of the team that played with us (YAKUZA) during the Advertlets   Tournament and emerged seconnd runners-up while we YAKUZA first runners-up.

Sunday, game-on is at 8.00 so I was up early so that I can arrive at the venue early. We were supposed to arrive by the latest 7.30 so that we can get prepared before the game starts. Marcus sent me an SMS reminder at 6.10 a.m. I was already awake by then and had already performed my Suboh prayer. It was so lucky that it was not raining or else it will be quite a problem for me since I have to travel on motorbike.

When I arrive at the players paddock, nobody from the team was present and it was already past 7.00 o'clock. In my mind, hmmm....I thought only Malays follow jam Melayu. LOL.

It was so sweet that we beat Dominators two game straight. I sit out the first game and played the second. One by one was eliminated and in the end I and Verat were left standing. I was playing the dorito side and when I move up only to find that it was both of us were left. Verat signalled me to grab the flag and I coundn't believe myself that I can run back to our gate because I knew my fitness level.

With that win we move on to sweet eight or the quarter final and face a Singaporean side, Karma. I sit out the first game and played the second. Feva D beat Karma in the first game but lost the second and third. With that we fail to move on to the semi final and a podium finish. Its all about sports, there is always winning and  losing. I see that Feva Division played well but just lady luck was not on our side.

Sports is about health and fitness. And Sports and tobacco does not mix. During my first participation in the first My NPL, in February, one I notice is that the organiser is strict about players smoking in the players paddock and they even dedicate a corner for smokers. However this time around, I felt so uneasy being at the players paddock players smokes freely even though there is a clear signage reminding of NO SMOKING INSIDE. The same  situation also happened during the Malacca league. I hope the organiser should enforce that they preach. Smoking is the the right of the individual but when there is clear restriction everyone should observe the rules. There are many players and myself included who are not smokers who feel uneasy with free smokes and please respect our choice who choose to be smoke free too.

Then you will see a list of affiliate banner ads. That banner add not only give me some benefits but it will to you too. They are my referral accounts and if you decide to register (FREE Registration) you too can earn some money while being on-line. The procedure is after you register for an affiliate account you will be receive a registration bonus that is being credited into your account. After the required duration had been fulfilled, your account will be credited automatically. Members do not have to worry about missing reading the mails because it will be accumulated.

I join these websites on 1 November 2009 and until I write this entry I have already accumulated $ 7623.00 from the 4 websites. All that for just a few minutes of reading email advertisements online. I still can't request for payout because there is a minimum payout limit and I have to fulfil the requirement. Payout can be made any time if I upgrade to Premium member for between $199 to $220 base on the website. I might upgrade and receive a FREE laptop (needs to be confirmed for International members) and request payout earlier.

Going To Posh Restaurants

I have seen the signboard somewhere but have never been inside one. I see it as a high end restaurant and not my level to dine in there. I knew TGIF  together with other foreign restaurants has been in Malaysia for sometimes and from my preception caters to the upper class community. Thats why you only find them in upper and middle class communities, and in Klang Valley at Damansara, Mid Valley and the city centre. We will never find such restaurants at Gua Musang or Sungai Rengit for example.

One reason for me to avoid such posh places is price tag. As a low income wage earner definitely every cents count for me. Why go for a cup of tea any pay hight price when I can get a fraction of the same type of drink at a mamak stall for just a fraction of the price. Thats my philosophy in one way or another. Of course I'll go if its free which I will after winning a RM100 voucher in the Nuffnang Project Alpha blog contest. It will be some experience for me to dine at TGIF and have high tea at Autumn Cafe, Sunway Resort.

Do You Like Licking?

This sounds to be true, it might be true but then I think it is true.
Evenif you are skeptical, remember cleanliness is always important.
A woman was working in a post Office in California . One day she licked the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a sponge. That  very day the lady found a cut on her tongue. A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue.

 cid:1.542885444@web83910.mail.sp1.yahoo.com
She went to the doctor, and they found nothing wrong. Her tongue was not sore or anything.. A couple
of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and it began to get really sore, so sore, that she could not eat. She went back to the hospital, and demanded something be done.

The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump. He prepared her for minor surgery. When the doctor cut her tongue open, a live cockroach crawled out!!!!
cid:2.542885444@web83910.mail..sp1.yahoo.com
There were cockroach eggs on the seal of the Envelope. The egg was able to hatch inside of  her tongue, because of her saliva, which was warm and moist..... This is a
true story reported onCNN!

Andy Hume wrote: Hey, I used to work in an envelope factory. You wouldn't believe the....things that float around in those gum applicator trays. I haven't licked an envelope for years!'

I used to work for a print shop(32 years ago), and we were told NEVER to lick the envelopes. I never understood why until I had to go into storage and pull out 2500 envelopes that were already printed and saw several squads of cockroaches roaming around inside a couple of boxes with eggs everywhere. They eat the glue on the envelopes.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS!

After reading this you will never lick
Another envelope or stamp again.

So, if you still want to lick, just lick at places where it deserves to be lick. However cleanliness need to be given first priority.

What Is Happening In Terengganu?

Terengganu lost to Negeri Sembilan on home ground for a place in the Finals of Piala Malaysia. But that is not the focus of this entry. I read in newspaper report about something that is sex related.

First Terengganu is offering free honeymoon for couples bent on divorcing.

Today another catchy tittle came out in The Star and it is about Terengganu too. Body odour, humdrum sex cause divorces in Terengganu.

However up North the neighbouring Kelantan, there was also suggestions that Kelantan elected representatives court single mothers and make them second wives to check the increasing number of single mothers.

What is coming next from Terengganu? .....or maybe Kelantan.

Sports attire? Boots? Football? People playing sports? Well, of course Adidas has carved a niche when it comes to sports. If you want to buy quality sports attire, look for Adidas.

Adidas according to Wikipedia, is a German-based sports apparel manufacturer and part of the Adidas Group, consisting also of Reebok sportswear company, TaylorMade-adidas golf company, and Rockport. However Adidas did not stop at only sports apparels but venture into related products that still has the essence of sports in it.

Adidas Action 3 deodorants enters the sports arena with a range of anti perspirant products for active men and women. The most crucial characteristics is it is 0% alcohol which means Muslim users need worry about applying it and go for prayer

Question 2 is based on the logo below: When you see this logo on blogs you visit what do you think of?

Since we had learn about Adidas and its relation to sports, maybe this logo stands for a referee blowing his whistle loud to let players know that they had flout some rules. Right?

WRONG!!!!

It belongs to a blog advertising community and according to its website presently serving 100,000 blogs and can be seen by 3 million people daily.  It was launched in February 2007 by two enterprising Malaysians Timothy Tiah Ewe Tiam and Cheo Ming Shen. It has grown into one of the largest blog advertising community with offices in The Philippines, Singapore and Australia besides at Kuala Lumpur. Visit their KL website and see what else bloggers can 'earn' besides advertisement in their respective blogs.

Question 3 : What is Project Alpha?
A top secret and high alert US operation to check terrorist activities in Afghanistan and Iran. True?

FALSE!!!

Project Alpha is an online reality TV show by Kyanite Production with Nuffnang as the official Blog Partner exposing Top Malaysian Bloggers and Adidas is the main sponsor.

So, now can you see how these three parties teamed up to promote blogging by exposing the bloggers behind it.

Blogging is becoming a popular cyber activities from all walks of life. They write to express feeling, views, ideas, experiences, tips and lots more. I think what they are doing are new ideas in this technological world when more and more people are depending on the internet for their daily information and entertainment needs.

Project Alpha's show info writes this:  Project Alpha emphasizes that every blogger is unique in their own way, each gaining popularity and credibility as opinion leaders on various topics including celebrity news, fashion trends, travel and entertainment. It is set to be the first online TV show to look beyond the screen to unveil the real faces behind Malaysia’s top bloggers, taking a sneak peek into their lives – who they are, how they live, what makes them tick and from where they derive their inspiration – to capture the attention and interest of millions of online readers on a daily basis.

Nuffnang co-founder explain what Project Alpha is all about

Besides Adidas Action 3, Kyanite and Nuffnang there are other parties involved to make this production a success.

2009 is season one of the project and as kicked off on 18th September with seven Top Bloggers in Malaysia comprising of an energetic mum, two shopaholics, two entertainment gossipers and two travellers.

Bloggers selected to kick off the Project are:

It is going into week seven now and this means the program is nearing the end and episods of the seventh blogger is running on Nuffnang Project Alpha's website and also on You Tube. After witnessing all the promos and the episodes of the selected bloggers, fans and the general public can now understand that bloggers are down to earth individuals too and they live in a world of celebrities in their own right.

Project Alpha from my perception made a success with the program in highlighting the lifestyles and behind the scene activities of bloggers. They are now turned into celebrities and idols not only for seasoned bloggers like ne and also to new and young enterprising blogger of the future. With week seven of the project, Nuffnang, Kyanite, Adidas Action 3 and other parties involved is going for a well deserved harvest.

This season starts with this.........

and will end with this blogger

PROMO SIXTH SEAL

It will be unfair if we do not let readers know the force behind the Project. These are the WHO's WHO that grow this program.

Jojo  Struys
Singapore born, presenter, actress, model, blogger

JOJO Struys is definitely a familiar face to Malaysian television viewers. Apart from being gorgeous, Struys’ down-to-earth and bubbly character mesmerises the audience.
You’d never guess that this beautiful model loves to tap dance, hikes with her dogs, works out at the gym, does yoga and as if those are not enough, this sassy gal also plays tennis.
However, when she’s not busy hosting TV shows and simply being beautiful, Struys also blogs.  - www.mmail.com.my/category/tags/jojo-struys  Friday, September 4th, 2009 10:12:00
