Info - Crime Watch

I am spreading this email chain that I receive. It is good to be aware because its better to be safe than sorry. Crime tactics keeps on developing with time. So it is better to spread these tactics so that the community is aware about it.

crimewatchlogo123452
THE IS SO CRUEL AND THE MORAL VALUES OF HUMAN HAS GONE TO THE DRAIN, IS TIME TO BE VERY VERY  CAUTIOUS IN OUR DAILY LIFE ESPECIALLY LADIES AND KIDS. THEY ARE GENERALLY THE WEAKER TARGETS AND CAN EITHER BE KIDNAPPED FOR MONEY, RAPED, DEFORMED TO BECOME BEGGARS OR FORCED TO BECOME PROSTITUTES. HENCE LADIES PLEASE DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR IDENTITIES ONLINE ESPECIALLY IN THE FACEBOOK BEFORE YOU BECOME THE TARGET OF THESE MEN WHO ARE ZOMBIES INDEED YOU WILL BE DOING A VERY GOOD DEED BY PASSING AROUND THIS EMAIL TO AS MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE.

Be Aware And Safe

You can't live an Extraordinary life by making ordinary choices

Situation 1

Today I walk pass by a building that has an ATM. There was an old man looking at me. Suddenly he called me and told me that he did know how to read and handed me his ATM card. He asked for help to whtidraw money from the machine. I answered 'No, If you need help, ask the security guard to help you'. Then he said, 'Never mind', and continued to look for someone else to help him.

REMEMBER : ATMs have CCTVs. If you help him, the possibilities is that later he can claim that you have robbed him or steal his ATM card. Besides the ATM card might be a stolen one too. Be careful of this tactic.

Situation 2

Suddenly your house lights goes off. From your window you could see that your neighbour still have their lights on. So, you immediately open the door to go out and check the meter box. Once you open the door, you might have a knife pointing at your neck. This is when you and your families could be robbed and injured.

REMEMBER : Before taking any action, study the situation first. DO NOT immediately open the door. Look around to see if there is anything unusual or if there is any noise around.

This is the same if you hear noises outside, especially at odd or weird hours, do not rush to go out and check. It might be a trap for you to open the door.

Situation 3

You might have heard this before of a lady who saw a kid crying by the roadside. When she spoke to the kid, he told the lady that he was lost and wanted her to help send him home. The kid even gave her his house address. So she send him home to the address. But when she rang the door bell, she had an electric shock and fainted. When she woke up later, she found herself naked in an empty room.

REMEMBER : Becoming such a compassionate and helpful person might not be a good thing these days. Girls and Ladies, please be careful. DON'T BE TOO KIND unnecessarily. In such circumstances better stop at the nearest police station first and hand the kid to them. God knows your kindness.

Situation 4

One day there was an old lady outside my house holding two packets of sweets. At first I thought she was our neighbour and wanted to give us these packets of sweets as a gift. But when she spoke, I realise that she was a foreigner. I could not understand what she was talking about. I guessed she must be asking for money. I sensed there was something wrong and immediately closed the door and ignored her. Later, I found she and an accomplice robbed someone else down the road.

Situation 5

I was at the ATM machine to withdraw some money. Behind me, there was an old lady. She asked me whether I was able to withdraw my money because she said she had problem with the machine. Suddenly a small girl came upbeside me. The small girl was tugging and squeezing in front of me. I thought she was just naughty and playful. But then, the small girl placed her hand inside the tray of the ATM where the money was being dispensed out; ready to take away my money. I sensed something wrong and immediately pushed her away. Later I realised that the small girl and the old lady worked hand in hand together. She was trying to steal my money while the old lady trying to distract my attention by asking me questions!

REMEMBER: BE VERY CAREFUL when you are at an ATM machine and be alert. Look out for anyone suspicious around you!

Situation 6

My parents are retired and stay at home most days. One afternoon, a young stranger went to their house and said his motorcycle had no more fuel and the petrol station was too far away, for him to push his bike there. So he asked my parents for an empty coke bottle to buy some petrol. He said he will pay RM2 for the bottle. So my mum gave one coke bottle to him. He really took out the money from his pocket, but it was a RM 100 note. He told my mum he had no small change and asked my mum to give him the change. Luckily my mum was smart. She just told him to take it for free.

REMEMBER: obviously that note is fake! Who would want to pay for RM2 for an empty coke bottle! It’s very OBVIOUS that that stranger was a trickster.

Situation 7

This happened in Bali . A newly married couple was having their honeymoon at the hotel. When both were in the changing room, the wife suddenly went missing. The husband was very anxious and went around finding her. He asked the hotel staff to help him find her. Then he thought his wife was just playing hide and seek. So he went back and waited for his wife. After a few hours, he decided to call the police. Three weeks passed and there was still no news about his missing wife. So he went back and was very disappointed and sad. A few years later, he came back to Bali , to watch a ‘FREAK SHOW’ in an old house. He saw a dirty and rusty metal cage. Inside there was a lady without limbs. Her body including the face was full of scars. When he had a closer look at her face, he was shocked to find out that she was his missing wife caged there and used for begging.

Situation 8

This happened in Shanghai . A few years ago, a lady reported to the police that her cousin sister was missing in the shopping complex. But after five years, one of her friends found her cousin sister begging at the road side on one of the streets in Bangkok , Thailand . The worst thing was that her cousin sister had no more limbs and her body was tied to a lamp post with a shackle (metal chain).

Situation 9

Let’s just shorten this story. DO NOT open your house door when you hear the sound of a BABY CRYING! It might be a trap! Women in the house must be alert to this form of trick. The police said it is the work of a robber or murderer using the recording of a crying baby to attract your attention. This normally happens at night and when you are alone in the house.

Situation 10

I read an email that was sent by my friend. Her friend, known as A, went to Luo Hu Commercial City with 2 friends, B and C. Luo Hu Commercial City is known as the Shenzhen counterfeit goods distribution center. There are many people there. It’s also near to the Shenzhen train station and Hong Kong ’s Luo Hu Port. C went to the toilet at the shopping centre while A and B waited outside. After waiting for a long, time they felt uneasy and went into the toilet to look for her. When they went in, there was nobody inside. Both were scared and they called C’s phone. There was no reply. So they reported to the police. The police asked them whether they had seen anybody suspicious going into the toilet. Both said there was none and it’s impossible to bring a person out of the toilet without them noticing! Then A remembered seeing a cleaner pushing a trolley in, and then coming out of the toilet. The police told them that were not the first time such a thing happened there. The police suspected a gang of criminals who were always attacking women in the the toilets of shopping complexes. They use cleaners to kidnap people to harvest their organs for sale.

Torchlight? No! Its A Stungun

The gadget above is sold freely in Pasar Malam and maybe downtowns too.
"Immediately upon making contact, the stun gun delivers a high-voltage (generally 85,000 volts to 625,000 volts), low-amperage electrical charge".Source: http://EzineArticles.com/655352

Another new gadget used by criminals in the community is an innocent looking torchlight. But on closer inspection it is actually not a torchlight that will help show the way in the dark but will do it the other way round. It makes you loose the light an be a victim of theft, robbers, rapers or worse case scenario murdered.

This is an email I receive and like to share with my readers.

I just thought to let know what my doctor told me recently. I don't think she was lying and neither am I, so please pass this on to your friends. Her clinic is in SS2 and you know how congested that place is.

One morning a few months ago in broad daylight, a girl was getting into her car when a few men approached her with what looked like a  torchlight. Quite harmless looking. They pressed the "torchlight" into her back and immediately she went limp and very pale. So she wouldn't be able to fight back, they slashed her thigh with a parang and sped away in her car.

There were many people around and they quickly took her to the  nearest clinic which was my doctor's clinic. There were two doctors at that time and they managed to stitch up her wound but the girl remained pulse-less and still pale as paper. No pulse, no BP (blood pressure) Just like dead.

My doctors were confused as to how one wound on the thigh made the girl almost like dead? They managed to revive her and save her life.

After some checking around, the doctors found  out what actually happened was that the girl was made unconscious not by a torchlight but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution.

It seems this weapon is from China . It's not rampant in Malaysia ...yet; but with this thing, a person can rob, rape, kill, kidnap, and practically do anything to you. My doctor said that if the girl weren't taken to the clinic immediately she would have died because there was no pulse on her.

So please just beware of your surroundings, if anybody is lurking around with a torchlight-thingy and approaches you, just scream or run away. Better to be embarrassed than ZAPPED and fried, right? Take care.

What does stungun do to your body? Read HERE and HERE

The authority should take stern action to prohibit selling of such gadget to the public. Even though it looks like a harmful object but in actual case can be used for criminal activities. If they can take action on selling of fake guns that looks like real guns why not take action on these innocent looking "flashlight" err, is it a flashlight?

When we walk out from the comfort of our home, we can't expect what will happen to us. So the best thing is to be aware. Share this posting with your friends because sharing is part of love too.

Checking Where Click Here Link To

I posted a cyber crime conmen modus operandi as experienced by a customer. These conmen prowl on unsuspected bank account holder and it was too late to save her savings. The best way to stop this is to ignore such emails as banks had sent out notices that they never request customers information through emails.

However if you are not sure, check with your bank to confirm. We all know that the email looks genuine but before one take further action just check out where do the Click Here link to. This email I received requesting me to verify my account links to http://kazuyoshi sc.sakura.ne.jp/mbb/Security. So the Click Here link does not link to Maybank but to a website in Japan. To check just right click on the link and check element. Don't lose your hard  earned money to cyber conmen.

What A Rude Awakening

It was a 'rude awakening' this morning morning when I woke up and switched on my phone after being dead for running out of battery sometimes last night.

There is a message received at 9.41 am from shortcode 66600 informing me that I have redeemed my Kad Mesra point. 70838155104630143 ; 17002 mata ganjaran ditebus di PSS Spg Pulai arah Utara 07/04/11; 17:38:36.

What!!! How can I redeem my points at Simpang Pulai when I am here in Bukit Jalil. It is my card no doubt because mymesra contacted me to inform of the transaction on my phone. Yes, I lost my card on 3rd of March 2011 between 12.47 and 1.10 am at Simpang Pulai RnR Petronas Station (check my Foursquare check-in history). I only realise that I might have lost my mesra card when i wanted to fill up at another Petronas station in Alor Setar. When I trace back I was sure I lost it at Simpang Pulai Arah Utara. I did not fill up at the station but buy some drinks and snacks at the counter tended by a lady.

It might be due to my carelessness because I was in a hurry since my brother is in the ICU ward at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Alor Setar, that I forget to collect back my card after the lady swipe it. I presume the lady must have put it back on the counter but didn't she realise that the card is still there when I left. As far as I can remember there is not many people around because it is not the peak hour of the night. If she does and she is honest she must retain the card and surrender it to her supervisor. Read on and you will find out about my assumption.

The following week on the same reason as the previous week I stop again at Simpang Pulai RnR to inquire about my card. One Malay guy took out a stack of mesra and ATM cards that customers had accidentally left at the station but my card was not there. If that lady notice my card and surrender it to the supervisor, surely the card is there.
Thats the history.

Back to this morning.

This bloody guy who might have 'stolen' my card left on the counter or the given by the lady at the counter. Err.... does she have access to read the card particulars? I think so because of the availability of on site redemption.

This bloody guy must be someone who drive a high powered car, might be educated or have lots of money (but still steals). I checked with mymesra and was told that my points of 17002 was redeemed with petrol worth more than RM100. My 1991 Proton Saga can only fill up to about RM80 full tank.  So this guy must be driving an expensive car with that much of petrol on full tank.

So, some people with brain are not that honest after all. He must have stolen and kept my card all this while and checked my available point and fill up. He can't redeem it from mymesra because the items redeemed will be sent to my home address. He is a smart fool......errr...smart bloody fool. Hope he read this posting.

This morning after my call to my mesra, I was told that my stolen card will be terminated. So, you that bloody fool, keep that card as souvenir to tell your children and grand children that you are a thief and just steals RM 100 eventhough you have a fat wallet.

For those on Social Websites - A Reminder

Please spare a few minutes to read this...It’s an eye opener.

From time to time we have been advised on the negative side of social websites. Most advise is about the dangers that lurk on such websites when members tend to forget and reveal private matters to strangers and all over the world. I receive this email and it might have been travelling around the globe for sometimes but it is still valid to be read as a reminder so that more and more people are vary of what they post on the internet especially on social websites. This does not involves Facebook alone.

- Very important message, please read to the END.
It's a good reminder even though we may know (or not) all this about Facebook.  One other good practice is about Instant Personalization:
·  The New Face Book Privacy setting called "Instant Personalization" goes into effect. The new setting shares your data with non-Facebook websites & it is automatically set to "Enabled".
·  Go to Account > Privacy Settings > Apps & Websites > Instant Personalization >edit settings & uncheck "Enable". BTW If your friends don't do this, they will be sharing info about you as well. Please copy and repost

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON FACE BOOK - BEWARE!

"The information people give out on Facebook, when linked up with other information freely available on the internet, is an absolute goldmine for criminals," the Daily Mail quoted Michael Fraser, a reformed burglar who presents the BBC's 'Beat The Burglar' programme, as saying

"One year, you might have a party and give out your address. A while later, you might tell everyone that it is your 30th birthday.

"So, if you've accepted me as a friend of a friend, I know your name, your address and your birth date.

"From that, I can go to 192.com or 192.com usa and on there I can find out what you do for a living, how much your home is worth - and whether you're likely to be worth burgling

I might have already made up my mind because you've posted party pictures on Facebook and I can see what kind of valuables you have in the house - and which rooms they're in. Then you go and tell your Facebook friends how much you're looking forward to going on holiday next Tuesday.

"I can go on to Google Street View and see actual photographs of your home. I can see if you have a burglar alarm, or whether there are any bushes in the garden to hide in. And I can see all the alleyways I can escape down. And, of course, I know you won't be at home.

"Once you accept a stranger into your Facebook account, they can begin what we call social engineering - delicately asking questions to build up information about you,' said Jason Hart, senior vice president of CRYPTOCard Network Security.

"And that can cause havoc. Let's say they got your email address, then they could go to your email account pretending to be you and saying you have forgotten your password.

"Once they have that secret information, the email account will let them in. And once they are in there, they can find lots of sensitive information, such as your Amazon and eBay account history.

"They can then go to those sites pretending to be you and saying you have lost your passwords, and guess what happens then?

"Those sites send the passwords to your email account - the one that they have already conned their way into.

"Crooks who do this usually use the credit card details you have stored there to buy online gift vouchers that can be traded on the internet. It is a form of instant currency.

"Even worse, if you have a PayPal account and have credit in it, your so-called friend could clean it out. (Me: Thats why it is very dangeruous to reveal your email password to friends because Paypal account uses your email ad account profile)

"Effectively, they have become an electronic version of you, they can change all your passwords and begin stealing from you.

The world is a dangerous place not because of people who do evil, but because of good people who look on and do nothing about it.

Security Of Your Credit Card

This Star Graphic can be a guide to us who use credit card for transactions. I post it here to share because crime prevention is a public community service. Read the news report from the Star.

I posted an article on 3rd October 2007 that concern credit card safety too. Read it HERE. For that reason I keep the key cards and it has now become one of my collection items.

Who Is The Real Slim Shady...Please Stand Up

I was reading benjicajess's blog that prompted to write this post. Con over the internet has been so rampant to the extend many unsuspicious victim were conned in broad daylight and the amount is quite exhorbitant. In thousands. It is that so easy for people to believe even with past cases highlighted over the media.

I was in Langkawi last week and upon waking up one morning I checked my mail on BB and was shocked to know that my friend has been robbed. He was in UK and travelled there for a Volunteer Training Program. Pity him for the bad experience in UK. However it is lucky for him because the Embassy came to his aid by providing travelling documents but he has to find other needs by himself.

He has no way to communicate because the hotel phone line was disconnected during the robbery and he only have access to email. He did not bring his phone, hotel phone line was disconnected but he has email access. What do you think?

This friend of mine needs my help seriously to lend him money to relocate to another hotel and get another flight ticket home even though the Embassy had cleared him with his ticketing. I was searching the email for his bank account account number so that I could send him the 1160 pound that he needed but the details are there. As a friend I have to help him. Pity for my friend to face the experience in a foreign  land. This is the screen capture of his email .............(sorry I have to cover up his name)
Now this is the best part. Read on.

This person who sent me the email is actually together with me where we are conducting a workshop. Is that not funny? When we met at the meeting room I showed him the email that I purportedly received from him.

Who is the real slim shady please stand up, please stand up...............

New Highway Robbery Tactic

A friend emailed this information to me and I think its worth sharing as we can help each other to be safe and fight crime.

PLS TAKE NOTE OF THIS LATEST INFORMATION

You can't clean away smashed eggs on the windscreen with the wiper and sprayed water. Please take note of this.

If you are driving at night and are attacked with eggs, do not operate  the wiper or spray any water..
You can drive with whatever visibility remaining until you reach a safer place.
Because eggs when mixed with water becomes milky and block your vision up to 92.5%.
Then you are forced to stop at the road side and become a victim of  robbersThis is a new technique used by robbers in Johor Bahru.
Please inform your friends and relatives.
Please take this seriously.

A Shameful Public Attitude Towards Crime

I was in front of Sogo shopping complex. Suddenly something attracted my attention  when  I  saw a young Malay guy and being chased by a policeman. I was barely 10 metres away from the line where the guy and the policeman were running towards Pertama Complex. I could see the policeman was all out to get the guy who were also running out of breath.

My heart thumped when all of a sudden the policeman tripped and this gave the guy the opportunity to get away. The policeman stood up and trying to give chase again but the guy had made his way and escaped. I knew the policeman was frustrated and his frustration was maybe due to the public not helping him nab the culprit. He walked away after that while onlookers just looked at him as if he had done something wrong.

I felt so bad since I can't do anything to help him due to my distance. My feeling gets worse when I saw him tripped and fell onto the cement floor. Not sure whether he had bruises or not. I could feel as if he was cursing the public for not helping him.

As a member of a public I felt I had done something bad today and until I post this blog I am still hurt......hurt for not being able to help the policeman. I am wondering, is this the attitude of our public? No wonder petty crime is on the rise because they know they can get away easily because of that public attitude. Back to the incident, I am sure along the way somebody can do something to help nab the culprit  (at least trip the guy down) since the area is not so secluded. There are people all along the route the guy was running since the guy has to avoid running into somebody.

To that particular policeman who was unsuccessful, I felt sorry for you and I am ashamed of myself too.

So Alarming

I read an article online about how fast someone can break into and run away with a car. This myMetro report says it just take less than a minute to prise open a Proton Satria GTi that is equipped with alarm. Proton Satria is among the latest in the Proton range of production. It might be unfair to accuse that Proton cars are easy prey but coffee shop talk tell the stories. Majority of stolen cars can be registered as unrecoverable since they can be dismantled within hours and sold as spare parts.  It is as good as lost forever. And how close can the authority monitor spare part or the kereta potong outlet that all their goods are legally resourced. You can't cannot prove that the second hand window is from another stolen car, do you?

What flies into my mind is how safe are our properties nowadays? This includes our lives and our neighbours'.

PKFZ sizzling

Datuk Tiong King Sing, the CEO of the main developer of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) issued a statement that Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat had received a RM 10 million donation from him which the latter denied. This led the latter lodged a police report for alleged criminal defamation.

The former said he stand by his remarks and will not retract what he said to the media. Things will get sizzling now.

"I donated the money to the party to unite their members and serve the people well. I offered a cheque but Ong asked for cash because it was faster. I am very sincere in my intentions," said Tiong. Read MORE.......

The question is whats the intention of the donation and why of all its MCA? PKFZ involves MCA big guns.

Malaysians are going to see how fast MACC will open up the files. Will it be as fast if not better than if it involves opposition figures? 1Malaysia.........

Thailand: Land Of Smile

Thailand is graced with Land of Smile because of the smile of their beautiful fair ladies and the beautiful ladyboys ever popular at the tourist resort beach in Pattaya. However negative reports of scams and corruption among uniform personnel is nothing to be surprised about. Malaysians who use to cross the borderinto Thailand has been paying 'forced bribe' since time unknown.

Everybody who cross the border into Thailand with a valid travel document has to pay the so called petition writer stationed at booth set up just before the immigration booth. These petition writers who were not uniformed will register the travel document with a sum of fee. If you don't want to pay, he will just ignore you and you are not going to get your document stamped from the Immigration officer. Don't you think that is bribery? Just imagine how much money the officers gets daily from thousands tourist who enter Thailand at border towns. That is just bribe of the lowest form.

Mahaguru posted in his blog a case of Suvarnabhumi International Airport scam involving two British IT expert , Stephen Ingrim and Xi Lin. They were accused of shoplifting a wallet from a duty free shop. When the Thai authority approached them to check their baggage for the supposedly shoplifted wallet, their ordeal starts. Read the story HERE as reported in BBCNews.

Sometimes ago I received an email from a friend relating the same modus operandi scam also at the same airport. That scam involves Malaysian tourist to Bangkok. The incident also begins at the Duty Free shop. Read about it at If You Go To Thailand.

The two indicents might only be the tip of the iceberg. Phuket Wan has more to tell.

Just sit back and ponder. If you or any of your relatives or friend were to be the unlucky victim of the scam, how much help can you get from the Thai enforcement authorities when they themselves are part of the plot. Whichever way it goes the victim will still be the cucumber while the Thai authorities are the durian.

I have no intention whatsoever to scare tourist to Thailand or to spoil tourism to the Land of Smile but, just to share and warn about what others had been experiencing when travelling to foreign countries. It will take ages to clean up dirty tactics like corruption because it is already part of a lifestyle just like in Malaysia. However the government has to take serious action to safeguard and respect tourist since their visit helps the economy of the country.

A reader who visited my blog left a comment on my blog exposing that her husband too was a victim to such scam but happens in Medan, Indonesia.

This is what she posted in the comment; Suami saya menerima nasib yang hampir sama, tapi di Medan.

Sex-change 'Wife' causes stir in court

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009 18:57:00

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- The "wife" of a man charged with committing robberies caused a major stir in the Sessions Court here today when "she" turned out to be a he.

This prompted him to ask the "woman", who was dressed in a brown saree and matching blouse if they were indeed married, to which "she" just smiled and nodded her head Rajandren told the judge they had a traditional marriage but had yet to register the marriage with the authorities because his sex status had not been changed with the National Registration Department (NRD).

The issue arose when P. Ramesh, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charges and his "wife" wanted to post bail for him.Judge Zainal Abidin Kamarudin on checking the "wife"'s identity card (MyKad) went pale when he discovered "her" name to be Rajandren a/l Nagarajan.

SEX TOO NOT SPARED

Sex is basic needs for humans and the animal kingdom. What is sex? I don't know. Hahahaha...... Read HERE. Yea la, I need sex too and don't you think it is normal.

What prompeted me to write this post is This Headline. Lecturer demanded sex and money from a student in order to get good grades. Is this an isolated case? I don't think so. But however can be classified isolated because not all victims lodge reports and maybe to MACC this might be a first report. Personally I give due respect to the victim for her bravery to take such action. Most victims especially females see it as a disgrace to expose such behaviour because we look at sex as something taboo. When we think of sex it might always be as a man and a women having intercourse. Aaaahh....maybe porn did infiltrate our mind.

So, do you agree that sex sells?
