Nuffnang's Project Alpha

THIS BLOG ENTRY WON FOURTH PLACE IN NUFFNANG PROJECT ALPHA BLOG WRITING CONTEST FOR WEEK ONE

It rain this morning and I arrived at the office early. As usual around 7.00 o'clock because I opted for the 7.30 -4.30 working hours during the fasting month. Towards the Aidil Fitri holidays this weekend, the mood is already melting towards the celebration. Its just another four days of fasting. Workload at the office is not that heavy and I found out that after opting to switch to another duty, I have more free time. Life at the office is not hectic anymore.

Switched on my netbook, a personal netbook, mind you and of course going on my routine- check email, log in to tweeter and blogger and facebook. I was reading redmummy's posting on my facebook when I decided to walk into her blog and read about her date with Adidas Action 3 Road show for Nuffnang's Project Alpha (NPA).

I have been visiting her blog many times and love to read her simple informal writing relating her life, her family and her experiences. She has created an identity of her own with being everything red. She has been among the popular mums in blogosphere with many followers and I am one of them.

What is more interesting is that her blog does not only turn her into a blogging mum but helps drag her kids along especially gegirl and her husband too into the limelight. And now with her appearance in Project Alpha, it will further surge her popularity among bloggers.

I copied this picture from her blog to accompany this write up about NPA. Hope she will not turn red because, "You will not like it if I am angry." Then she might turn red instead of green. Hahaha.....

There are altogether 7 top bloggers featured in NPA season 1. Besides redmummy there are also Kennysia, Budiey, Nicole, Beautiful Nara, Huai Bin and Audrey.

I first knew about this NPA when I visited Nicole Kiss

a blogger that I never miss to drop-by an ask how she is felling today. Nolah!! I actually love to see the beautiful photos posted in her blog capturing her travel experience and last not least admire her beauty in the photo oso la. She write in simple informal English too and her writing can be influential in coaxing her readers to visit places that she write and post in her Nicolekiss

Around the world.

Reading her blog I not only admire the blogger but her lifestyle full of travel. How I wish I can travel just like her and I will have lots of things to write about. Errrr, but I wish I am a parrot. No!, not the one on the branch.

I am fivefeetsix but this little "princess" is fourfeetnine. She calls herself Princess Aud and at Fourfeetnine. Hope whe will not wear a 6 inches heels if I were to stand beside her.

Huai Bin is the sixthseal and blogs about travel. Another contender to Nicolekiss. However I seldom read sixthseal because Huai Bin is a man. I am not gay.....hahahaha.........but reading blogs has nothing to do with sexual preference. It is just that I did not find his blog before hearing about NPA. As travel is part of my interest, I might go and read his blog after this. It will be a good experience for would be traveller especially for those going on a shoestring travel. So on NPA there's a pair of travel blogger.

Budiey (picture left) is also another new blogger in my list. Budiey writes sensational stories about local artists. Maybe I am not much of an entertainment buff, I did not find his blog before this. From time to time I do drop on such blogs but not a regular visitor unless there is something hot and sizzling issues of local artist or entertainer. I'd rather go to gutteruncensored because its warmer and the pasture is greener over there. LOL.

Another blogger featured in NPA season 1 is Beautifulnara. The name sounds Siamese. Nara sounds Siamese. Beautifulnara's tagline "marilah bergosip secara berhemah" As the name goes, Beautifulnara confess that his blog collects pictures of beautiful artists along with hot gossips.

Last but not least another blogger with a celebrity tag in its own world. Kenny is well known in the blogosphere and has been appearing on different stages. Having the presence of Kenny is a crowd puller especially among youngsters who blog and do not blog. I remember reading about Kenny in a magazine but not sure of the name. After visiting his Kennysia, I had listed it as the must read blog. I like the way he write in a jovial and humorous style that make reading fun. Among cebrities blogger, Kenny is one of the blogger that I had met personally and this is it. Tadaaaa............

SANTA BARBARA, CA -During a search for evidence at the Neverland Valley Ranch, investigators discovered a corpse that has been identified as that of Michael Jackson, Santa Barbara police officials announced Tuesday. "Coroners have officially pronounced Michael Jackson dead. From what we can tell, he died between 18 and 20 years ago," forensic investigator Tim Holbrooke said. "We are not certain, at this time, who-or what-has been standing trial in that Santa Maria courthouse." According to Holbrooke, Jackson 's corpse was buried just inches below a stretch of the miniature-train tracks that run throughout Neverland. The largely desiccated corpse wore the remains of a red, zipper-covered leather jacket and a single glove. "We positively identified the body as Jackson by his dental records and DNA," Holbrooke said. "But even before we conducted a single forensic test, we began to suspect that that we'd uncovered the real Michael, and that the disturbing figure claiming to be Jackson was a fake ." Holbrooke said that, although the corpse was in an advanced stage of decomposition, when investigators compared the body to early-career publicity photos of Jackson , they saw a striking resemblance in bone structure and facial features. But when they compared the body to photos taken after 1987, the resemblance was negligible. "This discovery raises a lot of questions, but it also sheds light on a number of disturbing incidents," Holbrooke said. "Frankly, Jackson had been acting pretty strange." "We believe that Neverland served as some sort of freakishly whimsical tomb constructed by Jackson 's killer," Holbrooke said. "We also suspect that all of the iniquities that occurred on that ranch were the work of the imposter. I wouldn't have ever thought it possible, but we are looking at a situation where the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old cancer patient is the tip of the iceberg." Holbrooke said that, while the living Jackson is the leading suspect in the murder investigation, he "could be another victim of some sort." "Basically, we have no idea what type of creature we are dealing with," Holbrooke said. A member of the investigative team that discovered Jackson 's body described the experience as "otherworldly." "As we neared the perimeter of Neverland, the dogs started whining and howling like crazy," Santa Barbara County detective Frank Poeller said. "We had to pull them into the house. When we got to Jackson 's bedroom, one of them almost choked himself to death on his leash trying to get out through the window. Minutes later, the same dog led us to the corpse." A representative from Jackson 's self- created label, MJJ Productions, said he was not surprised to find out that the current Jackson is an imposter. "When we were recording 'Heal The World' for Dangerous, I could tell something was terribly, terribly wrong," MJJ manager Luke Allard said. "Michael didn't seem like himself anymore. He'd demand bizarre food and sit for hours in a hyperbaric chamber. His appearance began to become more and more peculiar. Soon afterwards, he started wearing a mask and confiding in a chimpanzee." While their claims have not been corroborated, other Neverland visitors have reported that when when Jackson entered a room, lights flickered, faucets ran blood-red, and screams escaped from the walls. To aid in the investigation, the FBI enlisted Dr. Richard Weingarden, a noted expert on the paranormal from UC Santa Barbara. After only two hours, Weingarden abandoned the project. "The smell of sulfur, the decaying facial features, the bizarrely high-pitched voice-it sounds exactly like..." Weingarden said, trailing off. "I'm sure it's nothing. Not a big deal. Nothing to be terrified about, certainly. I have to go. I've got a family." Thomas Sneddon, the prosecutor in Jackson 's child-molestation lawsuit, said it remains to be seen how the shocking discovery will affect the trial. Megan Gustafson, who left her post as presid ent of the Akron , OH Michael Jackson Fan Club after the singer was accused of molestation, offered a positive view of the grisly revelation. "This is very disturbing news," Gustafson said. "But to be honest, it's kind of a relief too. Thriller and Off The Wallare really amazing records. Now I can pull them out of my 'ruined by child abuse' storage bin and start listening to them again."

KL FESTIVAL 2009

I found out about this festival has begun. I "accidentally" knew about it just after surfing Berita Harian online. KL Festival is a month long celebration of varied cultural festivities. Schedule of events can be downloaded from HERE.

Just wondering why they are not using bloggers to blow the whistle since in this age of new media, blogs can be a powerful tool in disseminating information.

KL Fest will focus on local cultural arts not found in other countries and this will be presented to tourists who visit places in search of things not found back home.

Six categories of activities were laid out including performing art, visual art, heritage and culture, language and literature, traditional games etc.

In performing arts there will be 31 activities comprising of three elements of art that is singing or music, dance and theater performance. All these activities will be at Istana Budaya, Aswara, Taman Budaya KL, Panggung Bandaraya,Petronas Philharmonic Hall, Central Market, Bintang Walk , KLPac, KL Tower etc. Download location map HERE.

Out of the 31 activities, 80% are local performances and the remaining from overseas.

Jackie Chan's

I was having breakfast with some friends at our office cafe sometimes last week and one of them brought out the topic of Jackie Chan's house in Hong Kong. He said Jackie's house has tunnels leading to shopping complexes in Hong Kong. He said that it was shown on National Geographic but I was quite skeptical. Knowing the landscape of Hong Kong (have been there lor!) I think it is quite difficult to dig tunnels. After I saw the pictures on Nicole Kiss blog, the degree of my skeptic increases. I copied this picture from her blog and can you imagine how to cut tunnels from his house on top of that mountain (hill?) to shopping complexes which might be situated kilometres away. Maybe you might have seen the feature on National Geographic.

I Wuz At Bloggers "K"arnival PJ Challenge 09

It was a full day of knowledge hunting for me concentrating on blogging, when I attended the PJ Challenge Blogger "K"arnival 09 at Jaya 33, Section 13, Petaling Jaya.

This event is to coincide with the anniversary of Petaling Jaya being granted a city status and using bloggers to spread the news is a wise move for the organisers. In the time where mainstream newspaper is getting less popular by day, the newmedia is going to be the main information source of reference for the future. The power and influence of the new media came into light after the May 8th 2008 General election Tsunami in Malaysia.

One of the activites of the day is Learning how to blog. This session is open to wannabe bloggers who were giuded hot to set up blogs on blogger.com. There were two concurrent sessions of Blog 101. First class is open to blogger wannabe from the general public and the other is the special class which was attended by mostly the elder net enthusiast and VIP. The session for the special class was guided by Kenny Sia while another class by Euweng.

It's Datuk Sudirman

The late Sudirman Hj Arshad who was popular in the 70s and 80s was conferred the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP) carrying the tittle Datuk on the 78th birthday Anniversary of the Sultan of Pahang on 24th October 2008.

The award was received by his eldest sister Datin Rodziah Arshad at Istana Abu Bakar. Sudirman passed away on 22nd February 1992.

Survivor Robinson Expedition

Bare naked on Johor isle

AN ISLAND off Mersing in Johor has become a hot spot after it was used as the location for a European reality show, which had its participants running stark naked.

Scenes from the Survivor Robinson Ekspeditionen programme, which had been broadcast over TV3 in Denmark, were published on an online newspaper ScandAsia.com.

A reader with family ties to Malaysia alerted Harian Metro about the programe.

In the scenes, both men and women were seen running along a sandy beach without a stitch on.

The Danish national who e-mailed the images to Metro said he was surprised that the Malaysian authorities had allowed the filming although the show was soft porn.

It is believed that this was the first time the programme had made 16 out of its 22 participants strip naked for the run while five others got to keep their underwear on.

It is also understood that a woman who refused to strip was kicked out of the show and sent home to Denmark.

An official at the Mersing District Council said it had only allowed the filming after telling the producers that they could not have naked scenes on the island as it might offend local residents.

“The filming was originally scheduled at Pulau Besar for this and next month before moving to other islands,” he said.

FA Cup Final 2009

The FA Cup Final at National Stadium Bukit Jalil today 25 April 2009. The first major cup to be grabbed by local football teams in Malaysia. Kelantan came after 39 years missing the final compared to Selangor who can be said as regulars. 

So the match is between 

SELANGOR (The Red Giants)

and 

KELANTAN 

The atmosphere at the National Sports Complex is a hive of activities. Stalls selling souvenirs especially team T shirts were set up and fom the look it was painted red. It is obvious that there are more red than yellow since both teams have red as their common colours. The two pictures above tell its own story =  the comparison.

Home made horns for sale

TM too as the main sponsor organised the TM Syok Bola Carnival next to the food court in the morning creating the excitement of the finals later in the evening. There were cage futsal and drawing contest for school childrens.

Things gets even busier. Crowds start to congregate and mostly the Kelantan supporters seems flood the whole area. Looks like the red tide flowing into the National Sports Complex arriving in droves especially out of the LRT station.

Security at the gates. Even with this security there are still crackers being lit in the stadium. 

Dikir Barat entertained the crowd before the kick off.  

A foreigner family too came to support the Kelantan Team. This comply with the Malay proverb, "Di mana bumi di pijak di situ langit dijunjung"
