Most of us bloggers are aware about the presence of Nuffnang, among the most active blog advertising community not only in Malaysia but also a few part of Asia. They have offices in Singapore, Philippines, Australia and Hong Kong. Did I miss out any office?

I have been a member of Nuffnang since April 2007 base on my blog registered with Nuffnang. However if the objective of making money blogging and have advertisement on my blog, I think I better forget about it. My last cash out was, I think sometimes in 2009 and since then, there is 0 cents in my account. I am not sure whether there are visitors who click on the advertisement post by Nuffnang.

Now the latest project by Nuffnang is the Blogopolis. It will be organised on 14th July 2012 at The Concorde on Jalan Sultan Ismail. Mmmm, at first I thought of attending but when I saw the price of the ticket, I had to think twice. Its a one day affair. Click HERE for info on the project.

If bloggers who wish to attend, they can buy tickets at the Nuffnang office in Kuala Lumpur's Heritage Row (behind Imperial Hotel KL).

Well known speakers will be invited to share their experiences and among them are Xiaxue, Kenny Sia, Beautiful Nara, KY and Hua Bin to name a few. Click HERE for speakers.

Well, for sure, I am not attending.

Blog Day 31 August

I receive an email once in a while from Nuffnang and this one is about 6th Blog Day that Nuffnang will be celebrating. Thanks for the email and now I knew that there is such a day dedicated to Blog.
As requested
1. BLUE LADYBLOG
I came to know about this blog and blogger when I attended the  Blogfest Asia 2010 in Penang organised by Bloggercon. The blogger behind this is Kounila Keo, a Cambodian Lady and she’s a AFP Reporter,  who had the opportunity travelling in performing her job. Being a Cambodian and as we knew how English were spoken, I found out that this lady speaks English quite fluently. That goes also to her writings. Being a journalist in Cambodia, a once war torn nation, she speaks out her mind, “ Cambodia seems much worse, and as I said among them all, Cambodian media are only into politics and stuff. Not a day goes by without journalists writing up political pieces just to satisfy a certain politician”.
This blog’s tagline is “It’s not just another Cambodian blog and if you want to read about Cambodian Politics, lifestyle and mind of a Cambodian women, don’t miss this blog. Being a journalist, her posts were written in a journalistic style.

5. HEATHER ON HER TRAVEL
This is travel blog written by a lady, Heather who record her travel experience. Her blog description “Travel inspiration and destination information with travel tales, photos, videos and podcasts from around the world”. made me choose to post it here is that it contains different medium of presentation: writings, photography, video and podcasting. She blended all the different medium under one blog and visitor can experience all these just under ‘one roof’. At the time of writing this post, this blog is ranked 35th under Top 150 General Travel Blogs at blogranks. 1,292,772 unique monthly visitors.

My Favourite Surfing Spot

The internet revolution is growing fast. Gone are the days when one has to sit in the study or living room to get connected to the internet. I still remember at my office in the 90s, there is only one desktop connected to the internet and downloading files to read takes a big chunk of time. However I am proud that I was among the first few who has the luxury to surf the internet back then on dial-up of course. Besides I am also proud to have the opportunity to follow the internet development from the days of Jaring that are being used mostly by schools as a learning tools. Then come the dial-up followed by Streamyx. After a few years wiereless came into the picture and followed by WiFi.

WiFi has made fast inroad into the surfing experience of Malaysians and the arrival of Broadband generate more interest among net savvy citizen to jump onto the wagon. After a few years of WiFi came the Wimax that covers a wider area. Wimax provide a new surfing experience when users are more mobile and can get connected to the cyberspace anywhere and wherever they one.

I follow all those mentioned development and now I am also riding on the Broadband waves. Wireless Broadband enables me to surf wherever I can. I have turned myself into an internet addict. My surfing experience can be considered as always on.

To be able to get connected to mobile WiFi network one has to use the mobile modem. Malaysia can be considered lucky because the major Telcos has come up with their own Broadband plan and consumer has no trouble to choose the best service suited to their surfing experience. The latest technology that enter the Malaysian market is the Wimax which operates at a faster speed compared to EDGE, HSDPA WAP and 3G. Green Packet being the first operator to launch Wimax introduced a portable modem, Wiggy, for laptop.
Wiggy that run on the USB slot enables user to roam far and wide anywhere in the P1 Wimax coverage. It enable user to surf at a blazing speed of 10 Mbps. Read more HERE.
Everybody has some peculiar lifestyle in doing things. Some are taboo related. Some needs a better environment. This practice of doing things affect surfing lifestyle too. With more mobility people tend to surf at more places not to forget some with their favourite surfing spots.

For me, my favourite surfing spot is my home after work. This is where I will place my netbook (that serve as the CPU) and connected to the monitor. I will be sitting here to surf the internet until I go to sleep.
Yes, this is my favourite surfing spot. First it is near the open balcony and wireless signal is much better. Secondly, I can get cool air for free and thirdly I can look outside to see the green leaves to destress my eyesight and rest my eyes. Too much straining on the computer screen can be a health hazard. A few weeks ago I can even see the KL Tower in the distance from where I am sitting.

I also surf  at the office performing my official assignment and do not depend on my office network.  Wireless Broadband had given me the freedom to surf. Whether its office, home or on the move, I will always be able to get connected and never worry about searching for WiFi Hotspots anymore whenever I travel.

Whenever I travel on assignments four items will always travel with me; my mobile phone, my camera, my netbook and my mobile modem. On the move my favourite surfing spot will be a place where there is comfort and food available. I will choose a place with the wall behind where the monitor screen will not be exposed. The first reason is the screen will be clearer because there will not be any glare and secondly, other people can't see what is on my screen because I want some privacy. You think I want to surf porn, ah? Hahahaha.........Then I will position myself so that I face an open view so that while surfing, I can enjoy my favourite teh 'O' ais limau with either roti canai banjir or cakes or whatever while at the same time can oogle girls passing by....hahahaha.......mata keranjag.....

This posting is done as an entry for the Nuffnang Project Alpha Instant Cash Blogging an avenue for bloggers to earn some pocket money by blogging. Bloggers, you are still not late to join in the contest because it is now in the third week and the Project Alpha will be launched in April 2010. This project has gone into season 2 this year and Project Alpha Season 2 is presented by Adidas Action 3 and supported by P1 and MAS

Blogging And Winning Through 2009

It was a sweet year in 2009 for my blogging experience. I had won a few prizes in blog posting contest and it start with the PJ Blogger Karnival when I won the pre event blog posting contest.

Then when Nuffnang organised the Project Alpha Season I, I submitted weekly postings and won prizes in kind for a few weeks including a First prize for one of the week.

Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Well-being organised Blog4ft contest to urge bloggers write about the Federal Territories in October I start posting blogs and finally I submitted 72 postings and the effort won me the Top 5 contributors. Beside I was listed as one of the 25 winner for the Jury Special prize and I will be taking home a Blackberry 8250 Gemini and Celcom Broadband stick with one month free usage.

Blog4FT Contest Closed

Today the Blog4FT competition closed. After being opened for three months, the competition attracted more than 4,000 blog posts.

I managed to squeeze in as the top five contributors and stand a chance of winning a Celcom Broadband stick with one month of Free usage. At first my hope is of course to win the Grand Prize of a Peugeot 308i but after the first and second month, none of my post win any monthly prize, my hope dashes. If only for December win, I might still stand a chance. However after reading the monthly winners posting, I accept that their blogs are much better and ought to win.

After the contest was closed, I manage to submit 71 blogs and that puts me on the last spot of the Top 5 Contributors. On December 29, I was not in the Top 5 and that is when I work out my strategy. I worked harder to search for materials to write more post but I just published and not submit it to Blog4FT. I did that just to let the guy on the 5th spot with 68 posts gets complacent since he is leading the sixth spot blogger by 5 blogpost and I was trailing at 9th spot with just 60 posts. I just write and keep a low profile because in my opinion, if he see  that there is someone chasing him, he might write more posts and it will be more difficult to beat. I was also hoping that he will not submit more postings.

I intended to submit my posts before the clock ticks 12.00 p.m because that will mark the end of 5th January, the closing date. My intention was to catch him off guard and he will have no time to add more posts because of the time. However lady luck was on my side. I break my promise and started to submit my postings from noon and by 4.50, I submitted my eleventh post that make it 71. To lead by 3 blogs is not very secure, so I submitted another but to find out that the submission had closed and it was 5.00 p.m. Phew, I was lucky to have submitted all my posts before closing time because, I was unaware (maybe other bloggers too) that the closing time is 5.00 pm. So, my strategy works.

Why not vote my blog posts  HERE.

Its Namewee Again

Maybe most of us already the controvesial Namewee who created waves when he posted his Negara Kuku on You Tube some times ago. He is back and his name appeared again when he gets fuming at the TNB Muar during a blackout. Watch the video clip if you have not.

The Star on-line run a poll seeking views of the public on his so called "rude" and uncalled for action at the TNB office during the blackout. This is the public's response. If you watch the lackadiasal attitude of the staff at the TNB office, you will surely stand behind Namewee.

That is just one example of complaints deprtaments.....

Project Alpha - Uncovering Malaysia's Top Bloggers

Now that I have stocked up RM450 worth of Adidas A3, Rimmel of London and Montagne Jeunesse Pack besides 10 tickets to Pyramid Ice worth RM200 and 4 tickets to all Sunway Theme Parks for a day worth RM360 after two winnings for Project Alpha blogging contest I  am motivated to post this third blog about the same event and hoping to make for a better placing and who knows can go for a date with host Jojo Struys to Chelsea, UK and watch an English Premier League game.

A Google search for the word Project Alpha returned 16,500,000 queries in 0.21 secs on my Ftec netbook running on Intel Atom processor.

The first query on the list is a Wikipedia, free encyclopedia definition of Project Alpha as;
was an elaborate hoax orchestrated by the stage magician and skeptic James Randi. It involved planting two fake psychics,Steve Shaw (known as Banachek) and Michael Edwards, into a paranormal research project.

Within that definition comes this military activity:
Project Alpha is a U.S. Joint Forces Command rapid idea analysis group created to "identify high-impact ideas from industry, academia and the defense community that could transform the Department of Defense into an organization better equipped to deal with the uncertain landscape of the future."

Then third on the list is Nuffnang Malaysia's Project Alpha and and defining: ......first online TV show unvieling the real faces behind Malaysian's Top Bloggers.

Wikipedia  also refer Alpha in different aspects. It is the first letter of the Greek Alphabet. Alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, bla,bla,bla....... If you want to learn Greek Alphabet go HERE.  Other areas that has Alpha was refered as symbol (α), in Physics to define form of particle radiation, in name of places, in literature, science, computing, etc.,etc., etc.

Hitomi in her week three first prize winning blog also asks why Project Alpha and not Beta or tada,tada.....

I don't know what was in Timothy Thia's mind when he called this Project Alpha but from my perception it is because of the first ever project in Malaysia if not the world to turn local bloggers into celebrities on the electronic media. First as in the the first of the Greek alphabet. I walk into (er I mean surf)  Timothy's blog to look for the answer; Why Project Alpha?. I got only this  : "Project Alpha" - Uncovering Malaysia's Top Bloggers. Search for Alpha.......Reason negativeMaybe you readers had found the answer. Please tell me lar..........

By this time everyone who has been following the project would have know that there are seven top bloggers selected for the first season namely; PrincessNicoleRedmummyKennysiaBudieyBeautiful Nara and Sixthseal.

This Malaysian's first online show for Malaysian Top bloggers is hosted by model Jojo Struys, a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) Graduate from Curtin University, Perth, Australia. For her Bio go HERE

With the two wins before, I am trying again for a third luck and to earn a date with Jojo............

for a trip to the Blues home and watch EPL for the first time live, in my life. Why, only Kenny Sia aaa....can go to Manchester? I want to go oso....... cannot ah?........

I am putting an effort now because there is no free lunch in this world. Went to Carrefour looking for an Adidas A3 product and bought this.

How and where can I use Adidas A3?

Waaa, so smelly lor. Luckily I bought the Adidas A3. Now I am going to use it on you.

See, white spray. But don't worry it will not leave white stain on your shirt lor.

Aahhh......thats feels nicer. Don't you think so?

Where else can I use the Adidas A3? I play paintball and under the hot sun, I can get to be smelly. Sweating armpit might shoo away my team mates. You see the blue pods use to carry paint pellets during the game.

After this on my extra holder, I can use to carry this too together with my pods. So I will be able to keep myself fresh during the games.

Note: The black canister, I buy but the white can (for female), I won in the Project Alpha first week blog contest. Why I also carry one for female? As a bait lor, to fish for female paintballers. If she want to get fresh, come to me lar......

    Nuffnang's Project Alpha

THIS BLOG ENTRY WON FOURTH PLACE IN NUFFNANG PROJECT ALPHA BLOG WRITING CONTEST FOR WEEK ONE

It rain this morning and I arrived at the office early. As usual around 7.00 o'clock because I opted for the 7.30 -4.30 working hours during the fasting month. Towards the Aidil Fitri holidays this weekend, the mood is already melting towards the celebration. Its just another four days of fasting. Workload at the office is not that heavy and I found out that after opting to switch to another duty, I have more free time. Life at the office is not hectic anymore.
Switched on my netbook, a personal netbook, mind you and of course going on my routine- check email, log in to tweeter and blogger and facebook. I was reading redmummy's posting on my facebook when I decided to walk into her blog and read about her date with Adidas Action 3 Road show for Nuffnang's Project Alpha (NPA).

I have been visiting her blog many times and love to read her simple informal writing relating her life, her family and her experiences. She has created an identity of her own with being everything red. She has been among the popular mums in blogosphere with many followers and I am one of them.
What is more interesting is that her blog does not only turn her into a blogging mum but helps drag her kids along especially gegirl and her husband too into the limelight. And now with her appearance in Project Alpha, it will further surge her popularity among bloggers.
I copied this picture from her blog to accompany this write up about NPA. Hope she will not turn red because, "You will not like it if I am angry." Then she might turn red instead of green. Hahaha.....
There are altogether 7 top bloggers featured in NPA season 1. Besides redmummy there are also Kennysia, Budiey, Nicole, Beautiful Nara, Huai Bin and Audrey.
I first knew about this NPA when I visited Nicole Kiss

a blogger that I never miss to drop-by an ask how she is felling today. Nolah!! I actually love to see the beautiful photos posted in her blog capturing her travel experience and last not least admire her beauty in the photo oso la. She write in simple informal English too and her writing can be influential in coaxing her readers to visit places that she write and post in her Nicolekiss
    Around the world.
Reading her blog I not only admire the blogger but her lifestyle full of travel. How I wish I can travel just like her and I will have lots of things to write about. Errrr, but I wish I am a parrot. No!, not the one on the branch.

I am fivefeetsix but this little "princess" is fourfeetnine. She calls herself Princess Aud and at Fourfeetnine. Hope whe will not wear a 6 inches heels if I were to stand beside her.

Huai Bin is the sixthseal and blogs about travel. Another contender to Nicolekiss. However I seldom read sixthseal because Huai Bin is a man. I am not gay.....hahahaha.........but reading blogs has nothing to do with sexual preference. It is just that I did not find his blog before hearing about NPA. As travel is part of my interest, I might go and read his blog after this. It will be a good experience for would be traveller especially for those going on a shoestring travel. So on NPA there's a pair of travel blogger.

Budiey (picture left) is also another new blogger in my list. Budiey writes sensational stories about local artists. Maybe I am not much of an entertainment buff, I did not find his blog before this. From time to time I do drop on such blogs but not a regular visitor unless there is something hot and sizzling issues of local artist or entertainer. I'd rather go to gutteruncensored because its warmer and the pasture is greener over there. LOL.
Another blogger featured in NPA season 1 is Beautifulnara. The name sounds Siamese. Nara sounds Siamese. Beautifulnara's tagline "marilah bergosip secara berhemah" As the name goes, Beautifulnara confess that his blog collects pictures of beautiful artists along with hot gossips.
Last but not least another blogger with a celebrity tag in its own world. Kenny is well known in the blogosphere and has been appearing on different stages. Having the presence of Kenny is a crowd puller especially among youngsters who blog and do not blog. I remember reading about Kenny in a magazine but not sure of the name. After visiting his Kennysia, I had listed it as the must read blog. I like the way he write in a jovial and humorous style that make reading fun. Among cebrities blogger, Kenny is one of the blogger that I had met personally and this is it. Tadaaaa............

Credits: All pictures of bloggers (except Keny's) in this posting was taken from their respective blogs. Pay a visit and you will revisit them.
Meanwhile go and visit Adidas to learn what is Action 3.

I Wuz At Bloggers "K"arnival PJ Challenge 09

It was a full day of knowledge hunting for me concentrating on blogging, when I attended the PJ Challenge Blogger "K"arnival 09 at Jaya 33, Section 13, Petaling Jaya.

This event is to coincide with the anniversary of Petaling Jaya being granted a city status and using bloggers to spread the news is a wise move for the organisers. In the time where mainstream newspaper is getting less popular by day, the newmedia is going to be the main information source of reference for the future. The power and influence of the new media came into light after the May 8th 2008 General election Tsunami in Malaysia.

I signed up for the Kaspersky K-Klub (above) and receive this First Day Cover (below) and a T shirt.

Above: Guests during the opening ceremony
    Above: Colouring contest for kids.

Above: The line dancing group(Chinese ladies) performing a dance from a Malay number during the opening ceremony. A performance of promoting Malaysian Malaysia?

One of the activites of the day is Learning how to blog. This session is open to wannabe bloggers who were giuded hot to set up blogs on blogger.com. There were two concurrent sessions of Blog 101. First class is open to blogger wannabe from the general public and the other is the special class which was attended by mostly the elder net enthusiast and VIP. The session for the special class was guided by Kenny Sia while another class by Euweng.

I was one of the five blogger presented with this Kaspersky Internet Security pack and a "I Love Kaspersky" T shirt for my pre event post.
Above: Thats me after receiving the KIS. In the middle is Datuk Wong Sai Ho, President of Association of Backpacker's Malaysia and on left is another winner Dragoncall.
NB: I am already a licensed user for this antivirus software and to date, it was a worth buy and reliable. So now what am I going to do with this pack. Definitley it will be unfair to Kaspersky for me to sell the Not For Resale pack. Ooo, maybe I'll have to buy a desktop. LOL.

FYI : Tech Lane after sales service is good considering I had a problem with the online updating of KIS and the technicians kept contacting me relating to my problem until it was solved. Thanks tech's at Tech Lane.

At the of Blog 411 session, I receive this as a momento.
