KFC Secret Out Of The Bucket

I subscribed to Greenpeace india and recevie this newsletter

KFC’s secret recipe is out of the bucket. The Colonel has been keeping his chicken fresh with packaging made from rainforests that Sumatran tigers call home. Ask KFC to use packaging that does not destroy rainforests:

KFC has no policies to tackle deforestation and has been caught using paper made by Asia Pulp and Paper (APP). APP is one of the world’s most notorious forest destroyers and a company recently found using illegal timber.

KFC thinks turning the tigers’ home into trash is timber rippin' good. With only 400 tigers left in the Indonesian forests – they stand little chance of survival unless fast food companies like KFC stop boxing their food with rainforest packaging. A revolt is in the air and thousands of people like you need to join it.

Join this revolt by asking KFC to stop using packaging that destroys precious rainforests.

Right now people across the world, from Indonesia to China, Australia to America and around Europe are telling the one of the world’s biggest fast food company that responsible companies don’t turn rainforests into trash.

In India, KFC uses palm oil, which is also a leading cause for rainforest destruction. Yet, KFC has not made any commitment to source palm oil sustainably.

Join the revolt today and help change KFC’s secret recipe for destruction.

Thanks a billion!

No plastic rule may cost jobs

Read this report on TheStar online today that 1,580 people may eventually lose their job due to Penang's Government intended ruling of no plastic bag ruling from 1st January 2011. We all know that finding job these days is not easy but lets look into a broader dimension of the ruling. All over the world are calling for Save Nature and at one time or another something has to be done to answer that call. Chloroflourocarbon (CFC) has been one of the cause of the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere and steps are taken to reduce the rate of depletion and one of them is reducing CFC usage and maybe production too. Do you think reducing this will affect people who work in factory that produces such chemicals?

Plastics will take years to disintegrate and might not disintegrate at all. The more plastic we use and throw away will be additional years of disintegration of plastics which will add more problem to nature. Maybe we have been very comfortable of plastic bags for its light, easy and practical usage and we don't seem want to part away with it. But looking into the consequences and after effect of usage we must get out of this comfort zone at one time or another. The faster the better to conserve nature and our future generations. Campaign of proper disposal will not work because most of these campaign falls into deaf ears.

The action taken by two state government Selangor and Penang should be praised for they are looking towards the future and not present. We can't do anything now regarding damages caused by the use of non degradable materials but we can do something to reduce the impact and steps has to be taken now. It might be a harsh ruling but we have to accept it for the future of nature and our generations.

The concern of Malaysian Plastic Manufacturers Association (Northern Branch) do have some basis on loss of employment but the time frame given by the Penang Government gives ample time for these 1,580 people to look for another job. Are we going to save jobs of 1,580 people or our kids and millions of future generations of human lives, flora and fauna? These 1,580 people can start looking for alternatives of venturing into the biodegradable material market as a replacement of plastic. Please be more open to changes.

The article as published in The Star.

By ANN TAN
anntan@thestar.com.my

GEORGE TOWN: Some 1,580 people may eventually lose their jobs as a result of the expansion of the no plastic bag ruling in Penang from Jan 1.

Malaysian Plastic Manufac turers Association northern branch chairman Willy Tan said he expected those employed in the plastic bag manufacturing line by its members to lose their jobs.

“When consumers are not using our plastic bags every day next year, these jobs will vanish,” Tan said during a dialogue between 12 association representatives and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at the latter’s office in Komtar yesterday.

Merit Industries Sdn Bhd director E.E. Lim, whose company is a major plastic bag producer in Kamunting, said her sales to three hypermarkets in Penang had dropped from six million bags monthly to only three million.

“What are we going to eat when Penangites are no longer using plastic bags? The 20 sen penalty may be a small amount but it is not cheap to some people,” she said, referring to the amount shoppers had to pay for a plastic bag.

Association president Lim Kok Boon said the ruling would only burden the poor as they would have to pay 40 sen for each garbage bag to discard their rubbish.

“A shopping bag costs four sen each and they used to get it for free from hypermarkets and supermarkets. In the absence of plastic carrier bags, consumers will have to pay for bin liners and this will increase the usage of garbage bags.

“A study in Ireland, the first country to stop giving out free plastic bags, found a 90% drop in plastic bag usage in one month but the usage of garbage bags increased by 400% instead,” he said.

Kok Boon said plastic shopping bags were also more convenient for consumers to tie up their garbage.

Guan Eng asked the association for a report on the possible impact of the ruling to the industry, adding that Penang wanted to know the amount of reduction in revenue and job losses.

“We are not banning plastic bags but we want Penangites to reduce their usage. This is a policy we must undertake and I don’t deny it’ll be a political cost to us,” he said, adding that consumers would take as many shopping bags as they pleased when they were free but being charged for it would make them think of the costs involved.

All hypermarkets, supermarkets, departmental stores, pharmacies, fast food restaurants, nasi kandar outlets and convenience stores, including chain stores and those at petrol kiosks, in Penang will have to adhere to the ruling daily from Jan 1 next year.

My Favourite Sport

This entry is to answer Nuffnang's Project Alpha call to write and post about My Favourite Sport. So whats my favourite sport?

During my school days most of the time the game I played was football and badminton. Football is the game for almost all kids. If you own a football, you will be an admirer among your peers. You will be a self proclaimed leader among them. When Malaysia won the Thomas Cup, badminton became a craze and courts sprung up on almost all empty space. I form a team and we had friendly matches with other communities who also have teams. Medals were DIY's , made of engraved tin foil from Milo tins pasted to plywood and hung using used typewriter ribbons because of its red and black colour resembling the actual medal. And when you sweat, the colour will blend and stick yo the skin and shirt. Those were the days.

Things changes nowadays. I have stop playing football after injuring my left knee in one of the matches when I was serving in Kota Marudu, Sabah. I stop playing badminton too and being sedentary for some years. Eventhough age is catching up but to me sports is still part of my life.

Whats my favourite sports then? With age catching up, my physical self has been limited in getting involve in sports. When talking about my favourite sports I can talk about being a spectator or being involved in the sports. Ever since I started playing paintball in January 2009, it has been my most favourite sports now. Hearing the word paintball itself attracted my attention and sparked interest in me. Whether its on the electronic media or over the internet, paintball has really caught me.

This extreme sports of paintball might not be very suitable for my age but I play it. I play not only as a recreational activities but competitively in the local league. Being an active player, the opportunity to be on the podium eventhough not receiving the highest medal, is still a memorable experience for a new player. Being an extreme sports, paintball needs lots of endurance due to its fast and swift moves.

Paintball is a sports of endurance, skill and strategy. Paintball trains an individual how to be a team player. In order to win a game all the players must cooperate with other team mates in planning the attack, manage  strategies and always communicate. A good paintball player must be well equipped with physical strength, endurance and mental toughness.
Both Photo credit :ego.Graphy
It also inject the element of discipline in all players. Among those is the strict safety rules and regulation that is a must obey for all involved to avoid inflicting injury to oneself of others around. Wearing of face mask all the time within the playing area, safety lock on for markers and barrel socks or plug on before exiting the playing area are some of the safety features that must be strictly followed. Players too need to learn be honest when shot at and marked, have to leave the playing area even when the referees did not see. Those are among the positive aspect of  the sport of paintball.

Playing the sports leaves us with heavy sweating and perspiration after every game. Sometimes we have to play on wet and soggy ground and get our whole body messy and smelly. After which we need to clean and refresh ourselves. Showering alone will not help but we can use these complete range of products  to overcome.
I am not sure how long I will keep playing this sport due to my increasing age. At times I found out that I am the oldest player at the venue and most are young players and some to the extend I can call them my son. However that does not demoralise me from playing the sports since I think I can create an example that getting involve in sports is not for the privilege few but for all to participate irrespective of age creed and religion.

This Project Alpha's season 2 blogging contest for week 6 tittle My Favourite Sports really suits the objectives and intention of the sponsors to promote their products especially the main sponsor Adidas Action3. Adidas is already synonym to sports and when we see or hear the word Adidas we are already thinking of sports. Adidas Action 3 has a range of products that suit the sports fraternity in terms of personal body care.

Project Alpha Season 2 is presented by Adidas Action 3 and supported by P1 and MAS.

I Won The Blackberry

It was one of a memorable night for me after turning into a blogger. Oopppssss...can I call myself a blogger? BTW. anybody who blogs can call himself a blogger right? OK....why it was memorable. I attended the prize presentation ceremony for the Blog4FT blog writing contest organised by the Ministry of Federal Territories and Wellbeing at Sime darby Convention Centre.

I am satisfied for whatever effort I had put into writing and posting my work at ....as I Travel  that I entered for the blog writing contest even though did not win the grand prize. Out of more than 4,000 blogs submitted, to be in the top 25 prize winners is, to me an achievement and motivation.

My blog, the series of Walking-walking Kuala Lumpur had won the special jury prize and I took home a Blackberry Curve and a Celcom Broadband while I won another Celcom Broadband stick for being the Top 5 contributors. The Celcom Broadband stick comes with a free one month subscription.

Now I am officially a Blackberry user. It was a dream to own a Blackberry before this and now I got it for Free.

I Just Love Good Smelling People

Take some time to stare at the picture and concentrate. Just imagine the fresh air and the surrounding greenery. Look around the house and try to feel the freshness. Can you smell the fragrance from this surrounding that is far from the polluted cities and urban environment where most of us live in.
Before you proceed just spare a few moment and practice your concentration skill. Look for some clue that can make this picture smell good.
If you still can't get the feel then there are still other ways to make it happen. And if you can't get the feel did you ask yourself why? Most of us might blame on the old dilapidated house, the compound that can be considered barren without any decoration of flowering plants.

This condition can happen to us living beings. Our body emits smells especially from areas where sweat use to settle. Under your armpit, on your neck, under your chin, behind your ears and in between....oooppppssss...I am not going to mention it. You can guess.

If we go to shopping malls where hypermarket are present, definitely one feature that is present is the perfume section displaying and selling varied brands. There are perfume for women and there are for guys too. Nowadays in modern guys toiletries bag as well as women's handbag one compulsory item is...errrr....no not condom......but deodorants and perfumes. Definitely more in womens handbag because there will be lipsticks, compact powder, mascara etc.

Why take all the trouble to carry all these things around when one can just store it neatly on the dressing table in their home? Just dab them on, spray it wherever necessary and then walk out of the house. But why? For one thing they want to be always smelling good. Perfume and deodorants especially with alcohol content evaporates into the air and thus returning the body to their normal smell. So these have to be renewed because of that reason: smelling good.

Everybody want to smell good. Whether they go out for leisurely walk on weekends, going to work on weekdays or even go to the gym, they still want the environment of smelling good. What is your immediate reaction if you pass by a guy or women who seems to be perspiring with sweat? Do you hold your breath? Well.....err....I use to do that.... the simple answer.....I don't like smelly smells...I just love good smell. So to feel the good smell you must always stay at the beauty counter, do you? Well...maybe not anymore.

You have heard about Adidas? I am sure most of us knew it. When we see Adidas and hear the word Adidas, I am pretty sure what comes into your mind is sports related items: the shoes, the socks, the sport shorts, jerseys, football and other balls with the three black stripe etc. etc. etc. Am I right?

Yes actually you are right. However Adidas did not just stop at sports apparels and items. They have ventured into the smell good market. Adidas has now an array of personal care products tailored for people who lead an active lifestyle under its Adidas Action 3 range. People who lead an active lifestyle really need the right stuff to keep them feeling good. The picture below are some of the prize that i won during the Project Alpha Season I blogging contest. Adidas present every basic requirement for active people. Just look for yourself and I don't think I need to list out the Adidas range of personal care because the picture itself tells the story. Its a full range of products from head to toe and not forgetting your shoes too where the worst smell can originate from. With these, you can leave behind your bad smells.

Then as soon as you leave your bathroom there is still more Adidas Action 3 product for the finale. There's this Adidas Action 3 Dry Max system for both sexes with the tagline Adidas's best defence against sweat with triple action (thus the name Action 3). Get these all new Intensive Anti Perspirant that comes in different condition and needs. With these you can forget the whitening effect because of its anti-whitening effect and hey....for Muslims never worry of using it during prayer. Its 0% alcohol content and Muslims, remember if god loves people who smells good what more we ordinary human being created by Him. Surely we all love to feel good too.

Go, get your Adidas Action 3 because I just love good smelling people.

Don't Take Off Your Undies

..................on Valentine's Day.
Thats the advice from an NGO in Butterworth, Penang. The  advice is in relation to the upcoming "Festival of Love" (its my interpretation) or Valentine's Day. It's just round the corner.

The Star Online report that an NGO is going up in arms against Valentine's Day and a plan to get a group of students to go without panties on that day.

There is no harm to celebrate the day as a show of love to so someone special to you but it is not a passport for free sex. I don't think celebrating Valentine's means baring all and giving all. We have our moral values that  has to be upkeep.

For Muslims, Valentine's day should NOT be celebrated because its not one of the practice of the religion. Love is an every moment affair and why just allocate just one day of the year to confess it to your lover. Its just my two cents view.

No Plastic Bag

Shoppers caught unaware by "No Plastic Bag Campaign". That was in The Star.

Shoppers at Carrefour Shah Alam were caught unaware that Saturday's 2nd January 2010 was the start of No Plastic Day.

When plastic has become a threat to environment due to its lifespan after being discarded into nature's environment, it is a positive move to realise of reducing it. Going Green being the theme all over the world to help  delay nature's destruction needs cooperation of everybody. Therefore the No Plastic Day should be supported.

Who benefit from this?

Of course nature and environment.

However the main party that benefit most are the hypermart and business outlets. These outlet saves cost for not  supplying anymore plastic bags to be given away to consumers and while doing so increase sales by selling reusable bags while reducing overhead cost. On the other end price of consumer goods keeps escalating while hypermarts keeps making more profit.

So, if plastic bag is damaging why not go back to paper bags like those old days when items are wrapped in surat khabar lama or brown paper packages. Oooooo. using paper will have to cut down more trees. No, lah. Do we have recyclable paper products? I don't think recycle paper result in cutting down new trees.

Mak No Plastic Bags campaign a win win  situation.

Have You Voted For Me?

For the last few days I have been neglecting this blog because I am concentrating on another blog .....as I travel posting entries for Blog4FT contest. To date I already have 40 posts about Kuala Lumpur and Labuan either base on my past travel or the recently collected information. The contest is still running until 5th of January 2010 and the prize is quite luxurious. What I want to do is to keep myself on the top 10 contributors because by being there, my blog will always be visible on the first page whenever someone visits. I just can't depend on the random entries because blogs listed are picked at random and my name is not always there.

I hope you can help vote for my blogs. 30% of the points will come from readers vote while another 70 from panel of judges.

Blogging for Blog4FT

Yesterday I went to The Pavillion in Bukit Bintang to claim my TGIF voucher that I won during the Nuffnang Project Alpha blog contest. I have to do that fast because the validity date is 16th November 2009. I wrote a post about this trip but am not going to post it here since I have published it as an entry for the Blog4FT blogging contest. The entry was posted at my travel blog As I Travel.....
You can click on the banner below to go straight to that posting and if you are generuous enough, please also vote for me. And, not only this particular blog but also all the other blogs that I had entered so far.

After the Nuffnang Project Alpha ends, now I turn my concentration to the Blog4FT contest that will end on 5th January 2010. While concentrating on the NPA contest, I do neglect a few days the Blog4FT.

When I log in to the website again, I found that there is some improvements where there is a Top 10 contributors. After coming back from Bukit Bintang yesterday, I sit in front of my computer and start blogging. All the effort paid and I manage to put my name as the top 10 contributors. Today I published another blog and at the time of writing this post, I have made to the 5 rank with 19 blogs so far. I still have another blog in draft and hope to get published soon.

I know it will be very difficult to make it to the top three but I hope to make it to at least better than 5ft rank. However there is no prize for top contributors but by being listed as the Top 10, will make my blog always be visible on the front page and hope will get votes coming in. I just can't depend on being listed in the random blog entries because there are times when my blog is not on the list.

Today, I go out to KL again and this time to Pertama Complex. I sat at the Beriani Bistro facing the MARA Building and posted one blog. I surf using the FREE wireless@KL network. Of course the speed is faster than my Maxis Broadband that I use to get connected at home and way way way much better than P1Wimax. For the last 5 days I can't even get any page loaded using that network.

Today I published another series of my blog Walking Walking Kuala Lumpur and click the banner below to read it.

Get Paid To Click -2

For the past few days since 1 November, I spend more of my time on the email and clicking advertisements. Its the get paid to click activity. If you check at the top and bottom of this blog you can see some advertisement banners. Thats the my get paid to click accounts that I have registered to.

The website send links for me to click into my email box. When I click the link it will direct me to another website. As soon as the website is displayed there is a message  on top 'Thank you for supporting our sponsors!. You will receive XXXX cents(s), once you have visited this sponsor's site for at least XX seconds.'After leaving the site for the required time duration the message change to "Your account has been credited. Thank you."

I was discussing with a friend this morning just to clear our curiosity. How and where these companies get the money to pay members. As a free member I do not have to pay a single cent to them and yet they are paying members between $50 - $ 100 for having the advertiser's website running on my computer for the given time duration. On top of that they even pay sign-up bonus between $200 -$500 per member besides $20 -$50 for referrals.

If all goes well and the company do honour their pledge, I might be able to request for payout by the end of November and receive my check by end of 2009. After 10 days of registering on one of the site, I had already  accumulated $9,300.00 in my account. It will be another $15,700 before I can request for payout from this site:

mailsmoney.net

The big question is, am I going to get the money? Is this legal? This company is based in the US. I just don't know the answer until I actually receive and clear my check or get nothing at all. If I did not receive any money after being eligible for payout, I will loose that $25,000. in numbers but not in physical money. In fact I do not loose any money but just a few minutes a day checking my email and click the advertisers website. So I have nothing to loose. Even though I did not spend my time clicking and let the website run on my laptop, I will waste my time on something else too.

Now I can only dream what I am going to do with the money (LOL). Buy paintball e-marker (which will be the top priority for now), Go for holidays? Buy  new car? The dream will not end. BUT if only the money really comes.

So if you think you want a good dream like me, you too can join by clicking the banner provided. You get the sign-up bonus, I get the referral bonus.

The procedure is after you register for an affiliate account you will be receive a registration bonus that is being credited into your account. After the required duration had been fulfilled, your account will be credited automatically. Members do not have to worry about missing reading the mails because it will be accumulated.

I join these websites on 1 November 2009 and until I write this entry I have already accumulated $ 7623.00 from the 4 websites. All that for just a few minutes of reading email advertisements online. I still can't request for payout because there is a minimum payout limit and I have to fulfil the requirement. Project Alpha - Harvesting The Success

Before I proceed with this entry just some light question to check whats in your mind in reference to certain names and logos. Just take it lightly and know that you might be learning something new as you go along. Proceed........

PROCEDURES

Look at the logo, close your eyes and try to figure out what they are all about. Try to figure out in your mind the answers, just to check how far you know about the logos. Don't worry if you can't answer correctly because this just a light moment quiz.....

THE QUESTIONS

Question 1 : When you look at this logo what comes into your mind?

Sports attire? Boots? Football? People playing sports? Well, of course Adidas has carved a niche when it comes to sports. If you want to buy quality sports attire, look for Adidas.

Adidas according to Wikipedia, is a German-based sports apparel manufacturer and part of the Adidas Group, consisting also of Reebok sportswear company, TaylorMade-adidas golf company, and Rockport. However Adidas did not stop at only sports apparels but venture into related products that still has the essence of sports in it.

Adidas Action 3 deodorants enters the sports arena with a range of anti perspirant products for active men and women. The most crucial characteristics is it is 0% alcohol which means Muslim users need worry about applying it and go for prayer

Picture above: Range of Adidas products which includes Adidas Action 3

Question 2 is based on the logo below: When you see this logo on blogs you visit what do you think of?

Since we had learn about Adidas and its relation to sports, maybe this logo stands for a referee blowing his whistle loud to let players know that they had flout some rules. Right?

WRONG!!!!

It belongs to a blog advertising community and according to its website presently serving 100,000 blogs and can be seen by 3 million people daily.  It was launched in February 2007 by two enterprising Malaysians Timothy Tiah Ewe Tiam and Cheo Ming Shen. It has grown into one of the largest blog advertising community with offices in The Philippines, Singapore and Australia besides at Kuala Lumpur. Visit their KL website and see what else bloggers can 'earn' besides advertisement in their respective blogs.

Question 3 : What is Project Alpha?
A top secret and high alert US operation to check terrorist activities in Afghanistan and Iran. True?

FALSE!!!

Project Alpha is an online reality TV show by Kyanite Production with Nuffnang as the official Blog Partner exposing Top Malaysian Bloggers and Adidas is the main sponsor.

So, now can you see how these three parties teamed up to promote blogging by exposing the bloggers behind it.

Blogging is becoming a popular cyber activities from all walks of life. They write to express feeling, views, ideas, experiences, tips and lots more. I think what they are doing are new ideas in this technological world when more and more people are depending on the internet for their daily information and entertainment needs.

Project Alpha's show info writes this:  Project Alpha emphasizes that every blogger is unique in their own way, each gaining popularity and credibility as opinion leaders on various topics including celebrity news, fashion trends, travel and entertainment. It is set to be the first online TV show to look beyond the screen to unveil the real faces behind Malaysia’s top bloggers, taking a sneak peek into their lives – who they are, how they live, what makes them tick and from where they derive their inspiration – to capture the attention and interest of millions of online readers on a daily basis.

Nuffnang co-founder explain what Project Alpha is all about

Besides Adidas Action 3, Kyanite and Nuffnang there are other parties involved to make this production a success.

2009 is season one of the project and as kicked off on 18th September with seven Top Bloggers in Malaysia comprising of an energetic mum, two shopaholics, two entertainment gossipers and two travellers.

Bloggers selected to kick off the Project are:

It is going into week seven now and this means the program is nearing the end and episods of the seventh blogger is running on Nuffnang Project Alpha's website and also on You Tube. After witnessing all the promos and the episodes of the selected bloggers, fans and the general public can now understand that bloggers are down to earth individuals too and they live in a world of celebrities in their own right.

Project Alpha from my perception made a success with the program in highlighting the lifestyles and behind the scene activities of bloggers. They are now turned into celebrities and idols not only for seasoned bloggers like ne and also to new and young enterprising blogger of the future. With week seven of the project, Nuffnang, Kyanite, Adidas Action 3 and other parties involved is going for a well deserved harvest.

This season starts with this.........

and will end with this blogger

PROMO SIXTH SEAL

It will be unfair if we do not let readers know the force behind the Project. These are the WHO's WHO that grow this program.

Singapore born, presenter, actress, model, blogger

JOJO Struys is definitely a familiar face to Malaysian television viewers. Apart from being gorgeous, Struys’ down-to-earth and bubbly character mesmerises the audience.
You’d never guess that this beautiful model loves to tap dance, hikes with her dogs, works out at the gym, does yoga and as if those are not enough, this sassy gal also plays tennis.
However, when she’s not busy hosting TV shows and simply being beautiful, Struys also blogs.  - www.mmail.com.my/category/tags/jojo-struys  Friday, September 4th, 2009 10:12:00

Third Time Lucky

Its another boring day today. Switched on my netbook and check my mails. Just a few because I have cleared some already last night before going to bed. Go to The Star online to read about the latest news of yesterday or early today. Just about Perak. How the PR were victimised by BN during the Perak Legislative Assembly yesterday that turn out a bit rowdy because of the involvement of the PDRM who should be non partisan. It is another outcome that make people lost more faith in the force.

I checked my blogs and last night posting received 2 comments. Doing some house keeping with the layout before I login to Nuffnang's Project Alpha. Connection on broadband is a bit slow and I just don't know when will Malaysian broadband service will be of Asian class if not world class. We boast of our Multimedia Super Corridor and our Cyber City but it just grand only in the name. Nothing to shout about it. Worse still I am staying on the corridor of the MSC (just outside of TPM fence and I can even see Linda Onn clearly at ASTRO) and yet internet service is just like I am staying somewhere in the ulu areas.

It has been a few days I checked the results of the weekly PA blog contest because I have sent my entry for week 5 and excited if I had won any prize after I had won twice previously. I am hoping to make a big catch this time and increase my opportunity to bag the grand prize- going for a date with Jojo Struys to Chelsea.

When I checked the contest page and viola!! the results are out. I just can't believe that my entry had won this..............................

The entry was on my another blog, that I write in Bahasa Melayu- Projek Alpha Nuffnang- Menselebritikan Blogger. So now its the third winning for me and as I had blogged before its my lucky October 2009. Just can't wait for Monday to go and claim my prize at Jalan Yap Ah Shak in KL.

October this year seems to be a very lucky month this year for me. I've been on a winning streak and this evening when I checked my email I found out that I won another prize again for the Nuffnang Project Alpha contest. This time I wrote a posting about Redmummy and that post won me the 10th prize for week three. It's just a real motivation for me. For the tenth prize I will collect these :

  • Adidas A3/ Rimmel London/ Montagne Jeuneese Pack worth RM150
  • 5 tickets to Pyramid Ice worth RM100
  • 2 tickets to all Sunway Theme Parks for a day worth RM180
to my collection.

What a lucky October 2009 to me. That is what I call 'rezeki' and syukur Alhamdulillah. My winning streak for October are:

  • 4th placing in the Malaysian Super Lite Paintball  tournament.

Collection of Red Mummy

THIS BLOG ENTRY WON TENTH PRIZE FOR NUFFNANG PROJECT ALPHA BLOG WRITING CONTEST.

Back in the 60s when I was a kid and television images are still in black and white, there is a TV program called "Days". The program exhibits a day in the life of selected individuals. From the program viewers can learn the different lifestyles of different individuals that come from different walks of life. From my perception  it is a good program because of its educational and down to earth lifestyles as compared to what is being projected in movies and drama serials.

Today when Nuffnang come out with its Project Alpha(PA), I can see it as some sort of revival of the same program but in a different set up and different platform to reach the audience. Besides the selective idea of projecting lifestyles of well known bloggers coincide with todays in thing - blogging. More and more individuals has been jumping onto the blogging bandwagon writing about anything on earth, positively and/ or  negatively.

Project Alpha is a production targeted to the blogging community and using the internet as a platform to spread its wing. Audience might be small since the (broadband) penetration rate is 24.8 per 100 household as at second quarter of 2009.  However as far as Malaysia is concerned, Project Alpha is a posivite  start when in the years to come there will be more and more people depending on the internet for source of information. The inception and rising popularity of mobile broadband will one day leave out the traditional electronic media. It will be entertainment on the go and this is where program such as Project Alpha will benefit. Project Alpha can be viewed on You Tube and with the popularity of the website, it can reach a much wider internet audience even on top of Everest (provided if there is availability of satellite enable communication gadgets).

I first came to know about this project when I drop by into Nicolekiss blog, one that I enjoy reading. For those who just came to know what Project Alpha is all about, and lazy to read watch the Season 1 trailer.

PA is a Kynite production and partnered with  Nuffnang, a internet advertisement generator, as the official blog partner. The project is sponsored by Adidas Action3 (official main sponsor), Rimmel of London (official make-up), Sunway (official location), Hitz.fm (official media partner), Ministry of Sound (official venue sponsor -Not a government agency).

This posting, I am going to blog about one of my favourite blogger redmummy. Visitors to her blog will definitely see red once the page starts loading. That's because she choose the colour red as her identity. Nuffnang has made the right choice in choosing her as one of the participant to represent a wife and mother to two lovely kids.

Redmummy who even write in Bahasa Malaysia do attract thousands of readers dna has her GBM or Geng Blog Merah comprising of her faithful readers. I collect and post all the seven episodes about her in one place for the benefit of her fans. I decided to do this after finding out that some of the episode were not found on You Tube or placed somewhere else. I have to combine from the two sources - You Tube and Nuffnang's Project Alpha website. Now with this posting, I hope her fans can just visit The xperienceoflife.blogspot.com (this blog of course......) as the alternative to her official blog to view all her episodes.
