My Favourite Surfing Spot

The internet revolution is growing fast. Gone are the days when one has to sit in the study or living room to get connected to the internet. I still remember at my office in the 90s, there is only one desktop connected to the internet and downloading files to read takes a big chunk of time. However I am proud that I was among the first few who has the luxury to surf the internet back then on dial-up of course. Besides I am also proud to have the opportunity to follow the internet development from the days of Jaring that are being used mostly by schools as a learning tools. Then come the dial-up followed by Streamyx. After a few years wiereless came into the picture and followed by WiFi.

WiFi has made fast inroad into the surfing experience of Malaysians and the arrival of Broadband generate more interest among net savvy citizen to jump onto the wagon. After a few years of WiFi came the Wimax that covers a wider area. Wimax provide a new surfing experience when users are more mobile and can get connected to the cyberspace anywhere and wherever they one.

I follow all those mentioned development and now I am also riding on the Broadband waves. Wireless Broadband enables me to surf wherever I can. I have turned myself into an internet addict. My surfing experience can be considered as always on.

To be able to get connected to mobile WiFi network one has to use the mobile modem. Malaysia can be considered lucky because the major Telcos has come up with their own Broadband plan and consumer has no trouble to choose the best service suited to their surfing experience. The latest technology that enter the Malaysian market is the Wimax which operates at a faster speed compared to EDGE, HSDPA WAP and 3G. Green Packet being the first operator to launch Wimax introduced a portable modem, Wiggy, for laptop.
Wiggy that run on the USB slot enables user to roam far and wide anywhere in the P1 Wimax coverage. It enable user to surf at a blazing speed of 10 Mbps. Read more HERE.
Everybody has some peculiar lifestyle in doing things. Some are taboo related. Some needs a better environment. This practice of doing things affect surfing lifestyle too. With more mobility people tend to surf at more places not to forget some with their favourite surfing spots.

For me, my favourite surfing spot is my home after work. This is where I will place my netbook (that serve as the CPU) and connected to the monitor. I will be sitting here to surf the internet until I go to sleep.
Yes, this is my favourite surfing spot. First it is near the open balcony and wireless signal is much better. Secondly, I can get cool air for free and thirdly I can look outside to see the green leaves to destress my eyesight and rest my eyes. Too much straining on the computer screen can be a health hazard. A few weeks ago I can even see the KL Tower in the distance from where I am sitting.

I also surf  at the office performing my official assignment and do not depend on my office network.  Wireless Broadband had given me the freedom to surf. Whether its office, home or on the move, I will always be able to get connected and never worry about searching for WiFi Hotspots anymore whenever I travel.

Whenever I travel on assignments four items will always travel with me; my mobile phone, my camera, my netbook and my mobile modem. On the move my favourite surfing spot will be a place where there is comfort and food available. I will choose a place with the wall behind where the monitor screen will not be exposed. The first reason is the screen will be clearer because there will not be any glare and secondly, other people can't see what is on my screen because I want some privacy. You think I want to surf porn, ah? Hahahaha.........Then I will position myself so that I face an open view so that while surfing, I can enjoy my favourite teh 'O' ais limau with either roti canai banjir or cakes or whatever while at the same time can oogle girls passing by....hahahaha.......mata keranjag.....

This posting is done as an entry for the Nuffnang Project Alpha Instant Cash Blogging an avenue for bloggers to earn some pocket money by blogging. Blogging for Blog4FT

Yesterday I went to The Pavillion in Bukit Bintang to claim my TGIF voucher that I won during the Nuffnang Project Alpha blog contest. I have to do that fast because the validity date is 16th November 2009. I wrote a post about this trip but am not going to post it here since I have published it as an entry for the Blog4FT blogging contest. The entry was posted at my travel blog As I Travel.....
You can click on the banner below to go straight to that posting and if you are generuous enough, please also vote for me. And, not only this particular blog but also all the other blogs that I had entered so far.

After the Nuffnang Project Alpha ends, now I turn my concentration to the Blog4FT contest that will end on 5th January 2010. While concentrating on the NPA contest, I do neglect a few days the Blog4FT.

When I log in to the website again, I found that there is some improvements where there is a Top 10 contributors. After coming back from Bukit Bintang yesterday, I sit in front of my computer and start blogging. All the effort paid and I manage to put my name as the top 10 contributors. Today I published another blog and at the time of writing this post, I have made to the 5 rank with 19 blogs so far. I still have another blog in draft and hope to get published soon.

I know it will be very difficult to make it to the top three but I hope to make it to at least better than 5ft rank. However there is no prize for top contributors but by being listed as the Top 10, will make my blog always be visible on the front page and hope will get votes coming in. I just can't depend on being listed in the random blog entries because there are times when my blog is not on the list.

Today, I go out to KL again and this time to Pertama Complex. I sat at the Beriani Bistro facing the MARA Building and posted one blog. I surf using the FREE wireless@KL network. Of course the speed is faster than my Maxis Broadband that I use to get connected at home and way way way much better than P1Wimax. For the last 5 days I can't even get any page loaded using that network.

Today I published another series of my blog Walking Walking Kuala Lumpur and click the banner below to read it.

Mona Lisa In Coffee

Its amazing to see how artists portray their skills in ways to create their own identity and popularity. In Sydney an artist and his assistants 'paint' the Mona Lisa using 3,604 cups of coffee blended with different amount of milk to create the colour tones. It was a project organized at Rocks Aroma Festivals in Sydney,  Australia and was seen by 130,000 people who attended the one-day coffee lovers event.

The painting, measuring 20 feet high and 13 feet wide took a team of eight people three hours to complete.

Watch you tube video below:

Boyourennaisanceman's blog wrote verbatim;

Elaine Kelly, from organisers the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, was delighted with the result.

She said: ‘Each coffee cup was filled with varying amounts of milk to create the different sepia shades of the painting.

‘We wanted to create an element of surprise and a sense of fun in the way we engaged with the public.

‘Once we had the idea of creating an image out of coffee cups we searched for something iconic to reproduce - and opted for the most iconic painting in history.

Are Men Really Obsessed With Sex?

This is a question I thought of because any product that claim can improve the libido and vitality will be a hit  among men. Tongkat Ali for instance became popular because of claims that it can improve sexual prowess in men. The same goes for other herbs and medicine paddlers will take this obsession to increase their sales.

Some years ago along the back lane of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman at Chow Kit area, medicine peddlers line up along it peddling his product to circles of eager passerby. He made it more attractive by displaying pictures of men and/or women in the nude and in sexy pose just to arouse the curiosity of men. He definitely knew how to catch mens weakness.

Besides prepared herbs and concoctions, there are ointments and oil to massage the male organ either to increase erection or increase its size. This too comes with sample of pictures of (I think) porn stars just to "prove" that the oil do work.

Daily Chilly carried an article about 3 in 1 instant coffee that has been attracting men because of claims it can improve mens libido too.

These instant coffee comes in many brands and suggestive catchy names to catch mens mind. What comes into your mind if you hear the word kopi "janda". Mens mind can turn naughty when knowing that the women is a widow. therefore if you want to attract that particular widow, drink kopi janda, is it so?

These coffee has been brewed with other ingredients that claim can increase the libido and the popular one is of course Tongkat Ali. Just because Tongkat Ali is tough can it also make your manhood tough like Tongkat Ali?

Read more about these coffee in Daily Chilly HERE.

Even though these external supplements can give some help, but what matter most is ITS IN THE MIND.

Project Alpha - Uncovering Malaysia's Top Bloggers

Now that I have stocked up RM450 worth of Adidas A3, Rimmel of London and Montagne Jeunesse Pack besides 10 tickets to Pyramid Ice worth RM200 and 4 tickets to all Sunway Theme Parks for a day worth RM360 after two winnings for Project Alpha blogging contest I  am motivated to post this third blog about the same event and hoping to make for a better placing and who knows can go for a date with host Jojo Struys to Chelsea, UK and watch an English Premier League game.

A Google search for the word Project Alpha returned 16,500,000 queries in 0.21 secs on my Ftec netbook running on Intel Atom processor.

The first query on the list is a Wikipedia, free encyclopedia definition of Project Alpha as;
was an elaborate hoax orchestrated by the stage magician and skeptic James Randi. It involved planting two fake psychics,Steve Shaw (known as Banachek) and Michael Edwards, into a paranormal research project.

Within that definition comes this military activity:
Project Alpha is a U.S. Joint Forces Command rapid idea analysis group created to "identify high-impact ideas from industry, academia and the defense community that could transform the Department of Defense into an organization better equipped to deal with the uncertain landscape of the future."

Then third on the list is Nuffnang Malaysia's Project Alpha and and defining: ......first online TV show unvieling the real faces behind Malaysian's Top Bloggers.

Wikipedia  also refer Alpha in different aspects. It is the first letter of the Greek Alphabet. Alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, bla,bla,bla....... If you want to learn Greek Alphabet go HERE.  Other areas that has Alpha was refered as symbol (α), in Physics to define form of particle radiation, in name of places, in literature, science, computing, etc.,etc., etc.

Hitomi in her week three first prize winning blog also asks why Project Alpha and not Beta or tada,tada.....

I don't know what was in Timothy Thia's mind when he called this Project Alpha but from my perception it is because of the first ever project in Malaysia if not the world to turn local bloggers into celebrities on the electronic media. First as in the the first of the Greek alphabet. I walk into (er I mean surf)  Timothy's blog to look for the answer; Why Project Alpha?. I got only this  : "Project Alpha" - Uncovering Malaysia's Top Bloggers. Search for Alpha.......Reason negativeMaybe you readers had found the answer. Please tell me lar..........

By this time everyone who has been following the project would have know that there are seven top bloggers selected for the first season namely; PrincessNicoleRedmummyKennysiaBudieyBeautiful Nara and Sixthseal.

This Malaysian's first online show for Malaysian Top bloggers is hosted by model Jojo Struys, a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) Graduate from Curtin University, Perth, Australia. For her Bio go HERE

With the two wins before, I am trying again for a third luck and to earn a date with Jojo............

for a trip to the Blues home and watch EPL for the first time live, in my life. Why, only Kenny Sia aaa....can go to Manchester? I want to go oso....... cannot ah?........

I am putting an effort now because there is no free lunch in this world. Went to Carrefour looking for an Adidas A3 product and bought this.

How and where can I use Adidas A3?

Waaa, so smelly lor. Luckily I bought the Adidas A3. Now I am going to use it on you.

See, white spray. But don't worry it will not leave white stain on your shirt lor.

Aahhh......thats feels nicer. Don't you think so?

Where else can I use the Adidas A3? I play paintball and under the hot sun, I can get to be smelly. Sweating armpit might shoo away my team mates. You see the blue pods use to carry paint pellets during the game.

After this on my extra holder, I can use to carry this too together with my pods. So I will be able to keep myself fresh during the games.

Note: The black canister, I buy but the white can (for female), I won in the Project Alpha first week blog contest. Why I also carry one for female? As a bait lor, to fish for female paintballers. If she want to get fresh, come to me lar......

MU's NEW LOGO?

This, I think, is one of the most popular and well known badge or logo the world over especially among football fans irrespective of whether they support the English League or not. Manchester United, who will be coming to Kuala Lumpur in preparing for their Pre Season Asian Tour and playing with the Malaysian National Team at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil on the 18th July 2009.
But before they arrive, MU has a new logo. Just like Manchester United fans becoming excited to see before their eyes the best English Team playing, Malaysians too are excited to see this new MU's performance. Scroll down for the new MU logo.

Grafitti = Vandalism?

Grafitti according to Wikipedia Graffiti (singular: graffito; the plural is used as a mass noun) is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property. Graffiti is sometimes regarded as a form of art and other times regarded as unsightly damage or unwanted.

Is grafitti actually a nuisance?

In most countries, defacing property with graffiti without the property owner's consent is considered vandalism.

Pictures posted blow was taken on the walls along Sungai Gombak Gombak next to the Pasar Seni LRT Station and one on the perimeter wall of TNB. Can this be considered vandalism?

It is art but maybe the way applied without permisison of the owner of the property. Looking at the photos do you think it looks nicer than just a plain wall? Maybe the authority can use these grafitti artist, legalise their art work and get them to decorate plain dull walls with their skillful hands instead of being posted illegally with Along's posters or other illegal advertisement that is an eyesore. Maybe all LRT pillars being decorated with Grafitti and who know Kuala Lumpur city might be known as the city legal Grafitti's.
This Grafitti at the Masjid Jame underground station was made by TM.
Is Grafitti vandalism after all?

Three Layer Teh Tarik In Sarawak

One specialty at Sarawak Waterfront is the three layered teh tarik. Its interesting to watch how the drink was blended and on the last visit I decided to take pictures to show how it was prepared. On the first night with my friend I was arguing about which layer was poured in first. My agrument was tea was poured in first and followed by milk. Since milk is denser than tea, so the tea will be pushed up the glass forming the upper layer. When my friend asked what about the froth, I was blank.

The next evening, we went again to the Waterfront and this time I decided to take pictures on how it is prepared.

First milk was prepared and the "tarik" process was done. This is to build up the froth or buih.

milk was poured into the glass.

Then only tea is poured onto a spoon to soften the flow. Tea will overflow on the spoon and because of that, tea just floats on the layer of milk and settled under the froth.

Three layered teh tarik is ready. To drink it, you have to spoil the layers. What to do, you are not just going top see the three layers but to drink it. So stir it to mix the milk and tea.

How People Market Their Product

Last night I attended a FREE Forex Seminar at the Hilton in Petaling Jaya. I came across the advertisement in The Sun and registered as instructed.

I arrived a bit late since I left home after office and on the way stuck in the jam at the exit to Jalan Utara from Federal Highway. Then my time was again was wasted finding The Hilton. Of course I know where Hilton is but I do not know the way to it. Its a normal situation for someone new to certain areas and place. But being stuck in the jam and lost on the was was not the real problem. The actual problem was I was holding back my call of nature. I have no opportunity to escape the situation since I was on the inner lane of a jam packed exit. Then again I missed the Caltex at PJ becauese of the position I was in. At last I reached PJ Hilton and rushed to the Gents. Fuuuuu.....relieved. But that is not the main point I am going to blog about in this posting.

Its about marketing. I see for myself how marketer market their product. The modus operandi from my perspective are same. Whether its roadside peddlars or high end promotions. If one were to walk the streets and watch the medicine man especially will always start with impressing those present the good things that his product provide. The general tagline will be his product is the best among all products in the market. Peddlars selling sexual related product especially for men, will always exhibit pictures of beautifil sexy half naked or naked women. Men will be those with six pack abdomen and well endowed sexual organ. After he succeeded capturing the mind of the onlooker then only he will market his product. Usually there will offers that he claim you will not get elsewhere.  The word FREE is a real catch and sometimes can be a trap.

I was trapped once with the word FREE. It was during the last PC Fair. I was looking for a laptop backpack and at one of the booth selling backpacks I saw the advertisement FREE one year insurance for laptop with purchase of their backpack. I was quite impressed since I had just bought a new netbook. I bought the backpack that has a lifetime warranty. I was told that if there is any defect in manufacturing, I can send it back for repair. Good enough the holding handle split a week after that. HoweverI have not sent back the item to the company.

Back to the FREE Insurance. After I paid for the item purchased, I inquired about the FREE Insurance. Then only I realised that the FREE Insurance is only for laptop bought during that PC Fair. So I made a silly mistake buying that backpack out of carelessness. The word FREE most of the time can be deceiving.

Back to Hilton. I arrived about half an hour late and the FREE Seminar had already started. However I sat through till the end. The speaker, a prominent and successful Hedge Fund Manager and hadgone through the mill of hardship in life before becoming what he is now. He talk impressively about the benefits and advantages of investing in Forex market citing examples of his successful students who graduated from his seminars.

At the end of the FREE seminar come the time to sell his product. It was a seminar cum course on how to trade in Forex. I am not sure whether the number of seats available is limited to 15 as he said that seats are limited and the first fifteen who filled up the arranged seats at the back will get a place in his nexst class. Those who rushed to the seats were being baited by the offers worth more than RM33,000. After the seats were filled up, he opened a second chance to those who are still seating in front and with another bait. This time his offer was the fee for the seminar. He said he is not charging the full amount but slashed it to the last amount of RM6,000, which he said he will not charge that amount but RM 498.00. And that bait attracted a few more. So now the figure is has bloated to more than 15. The first group had already exceeded the required number and I was asking to myself. Does the limited 15 seats is real or just a tactic to get participants. Psychologically, demand will be high if supply is low.
Thats Theory of Economics. He is using this tactic.

Then only he revealed that the cost for the Forex course will be RM 498 per month for 12 months. So he is right that he will not charge participants RM 6,000.00 but just RM 5976.00. Of course during trading, participants will get the returns of his investments but there is a Disclaimer in his advertisement in  The Sun; There is a risk of loss in ForexTrading. But who don't want to be rich?

Xtreme AutoShow 08 - Part II

Went again to Xtreme Atutoshow 08 at Putra Stadium. No problem for me since location is not far from my house. The exhibition booth outside is nothing diffrence from the evening. The group of Caldina Club owners seemsto become a hit. The reason being the presence of the slim gurls in sexy some revealing tops and xtreme hot pants. These gurls do get much attention especially from the photographers clicking away their cameras. Well, of course I do not miss the opportunity too aiming my Benq digital cameras, capturing the alluring gurls.

At the side of the stadium there is another exhibition of a different kind. There were displays of modified car waiting for the night's event. These are the 'fire throwers' or Spit Fires. Blasting their exhaust that spit fire to the excitement of enthusiasts.

Definitely hotter than the gurls

What did captured the nght at this spot is the demonstration by the Freestyle Group from Thailand. They came all the way to exhibit their modified cars and pickups. Those present were  not only fascinated by their car's make over but of the car dancing to the music. Pictures below are cars belonging to the Freestyles Group from Thailand.

The Article That Marina Wrote.......

When Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was jailed, his wife Datin Seri Wan Azizah, turned into a politician. Now when Raja Petra Kamaruddin was jailed, his wife Marina starts to write. Will Marina turn herself into a blogger after this? So, this is another situation where coincidence changes things. After all Malaysia is full of coincidences.
Below is the article written by Marina and i am performing my resposibilities as a loyal Malaysian to spread it.

"...when  freedom of speech is being brutally subverted by the present regime and  false charges can be instituted against anyone, who dares to demand for  justice and truth?"

As a wife and mother, I want to  know from my fellow citizens whether a government that has incarcerated my  husband at the Sungai Buloh Prison on trumped-up charges and brought  untold suffering on my family, especially when one of my daughters is  sitting for her final examinations, is a legitimate government.

No wife,  mother or child should have to go through this horrible experience when  all her beloved husband did was to uphold justice and truth.

On May 2  2008, the 'Armed Might' of the regime was unleashed on my family when they  came to my house in search of evidence for some alleged crime that my  husband was supposed to have committed.

I thought that this can only happen  in a Gestapo state but not in my beloved Malaysia . You'd be the judge of  this.

The  police came in the morning and desecrated the sanctity of my home for the  fourth time. The fact that this had occurred previously does not make it  any easier for my daughter and I.

I wish that such nightmares can be forgotten,  but let me tell you, especially mothers and wives, that the pain will  never go away and that it is only our family's self esteem and strength  and our faith in God that
has enabled us to withstand and overcome the  trauma and pain that we have suffered together.

I pray that no mother and wife will  have to suffer and experience what I had with my beloved husband and my  family.

Patriotic Or Disrespect?

I downloaded these pics from mStar online. These Malaysians are just demonstrating their patriotism to the country and turn the Jalur Gemilang into dress to be worn on that special day. Jalur Gemilang is a national identity and should be flown high on a mast to represent honour. But what about turning into a dress and draping someone's body. Is it just plain disrespect to the flag? That is what I see from my perspective. When I was a scout in my olden days, I was taught not to even let the flag touch the ground and I pracrice it till today. However most people had already forgotten that rule. Flags are placed on vehicles and then pulled down by strong wind and cars run it down. What a disrespect.

The government should educate the people to respect the flag at all time and not accusing them of not being patriotic when not flying the Jalur Gemilang on National Day. Is it patriotic if one wear a dress of Jalur gemilang and go into the toilet to ease him-herself? Do you think these people in the picture do not sit? And if they sit are they not putting their asses on the Jalur Gemilang?

Blog,Blog,Blog.....

Last months 12th GE does not only created Malaysian history politically after 50 year of independence but also give life to a new source of information that is blogging. Blog was at first seen a just another cheeky kids on the block who are just meddling with adult activities. However these blogs did open up some eyes but seen in a positive perspective. Bloggers and their blogs are seen as just trying to kacau daun in politics and even put aside as will never change the voters loyalty to BN.

But they were wrong. Most people read and see blogs as a new media and latest informatiom. MSM will release news the next day but blogs published it in real time. So many people will get information earlier than from MSM or even electronic media.

Besides real time info, the people have been played out by the MSM media by manipulating whatever information that does not give the edge to the ruling party. Twisting and modifying facts has made people open their eye that MSM are not the true source of information and thus turn to the internet. Even denials can't change what actual facts or happenings. SMS, phone calls all send messages within minutes of the incident.

Every now and then the government is trying to infiltrate the minds of the people that bloggers only publish lies, slander and libel. But the people are not stupid enough to believe the MSM anymore which render it going to be obsolete.

On 20th April 2008, RTM aired a programme about blogs. I missed the programme but it is something that everybody looks forward to. One of the guest speaker was The Scribe. Now blog and bloggers has come into the limelight and one can feel proud if he call himself a blogger. Hope I can watch the next programme.

Terminal Panic!!!!

Too much politicking? Why not just relax and take a screen break to play this game. But before that did you remember that there is a havoc at the Heathrow airport about its luggage handling?

It was criticised in Parliament and condemned by passengers, the British Airways has now found itself the subject of a satirical computer game. The game was devised by a Glasgow-based software company T-Enterprise it is a free online game. It depict the airline's chief executive, Willie Walsh trying to tackle the luggage mountain - 20,000 according to the airline - himself.

For 12th GE 2008

Election commission is a mockery
making elections process shabby
changing rules with whims and fancy
making election system full of mystery.

Please don't take sides, don't make story,
phantom votes create dissentment and agony
let's be fair to all political party
if not! your actions encourage disunity.

EC claims to be transparent and mobity,
you champion the phrase "Believe in me"
but your facial gesture does not seems to agree
you're fooling yourself and many more like me.

Cheating the rakyat to claim victory,
why buy success with sins and dishonesty
corruption, false claim make people angry
is this what Malaysians are made to be?

Hey, Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
our EC is noble, full wisdom and clearity
we need not have to worry just be happy
for the end of the day we are nobody
all I have to say thank you Tan Sri.

Teh Tarik Without Guilt

That was the tittle of an article in New Sunday Times dated November 11th 2007. The article written by Audrey Vijaindren is about the most popular past time beverage among Malaysians. Morning, afternoon, night or in the wee hour of the night the drink is the most wanted in the list of drinks.

"Lets go for a glass of tek tarik," one might invite friends. But on reaching the mamak stall, he might ask for a glass if iced lemon tea. Thats how popular the drink is. Audrey wrote; "along with sambal belacan, roti canai and Ipoh chicken rice, teh tarik has charmed its way into the hearts of Malaysians".

Teh tarik is blended with tea, condensed milk and maybe sugar. It has a high content of sugar. Hence giving drinkers the opportunity of having sweet tooth. Statistics shows that 1.2 million of Malaysians have diabetes (though not all due to teh tarik).

The article by Audrey is about the recipe concocted by Food and Beverage expert Nicholas Pillai that will keep the taste bud happy but the calorie count low. At the time of blogging this I don't know where to find that newly brewed teh tarik but the article says that trial cuppa was given to customers (two days after the article published)at Devi's Corner in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Nasi Kandar Pelita Ampang Point, Nasi Kandar Pelita Bangsar, Nasi Kandar Pelita SS2 and Sri Nirwana Maju Bangsar.
