Good Bye Noughties Welcome Tens

This might be my last posting before year 2009 pull down its curtain. Lately I did not update this blog daily because my concentration was on another blog about travelling.

Year 2009 has been quite fruitful with my blogging. I had won some prizes through this blog and another that I write in Bahasa Melayu. This blog had won a free Karspersky Internet Security during the PJ Bloggers "K"arnival pre event blog contesy. This blog too had won me some prizes in the Nuffnang Project Alpha Blog writing contest.

I will keep on blogging since I had jumped onto the ship why stop. Writing and posting on blogs helps me to polish my writing competency especially in English.

Resolution? I don't have any resolution. Whatever comes will come. I make resolution every now and then. So no need to make it just once a year.

2010 will be my last year of my compulsory service for the country. I will retire by the end of the year and will have more time to concentrate on blogging; I hope so. I am looking forward to the day when I wake up and find that I have no job.

Good Bye noughties.

Coffee @ Starbucks HARAM?

I receive this in my email. I have no comments but I am not a regular customer to these two outlets as part of my moral support to boycott companies that help Israel killing innocent Palestinians. Maybe Starbucks and Coffee Beans can clarify.

1 Muharram 1431= 18 Disember 2009 = 55th Birthday

Today 1 Muharram 1431 Hijri and 18 December 2009.
Its a coincidence that today is my 55th birthday. Yes, I am 55 today. Another year to move into the compulsory retirement environment. Today next year I will be free from office assignments. What I am wondering now is how to cope with retirement life after 34 years of following the routine of waking up in the morning and get ready to go to work. I will wake up on the morning of 18th December 2010 and find that I have 'lost' my job.

Being able to live up to 55 years in good health is a luxury. How lucky to be able to live up to this age with signs of heart problem, diabetes and high blood pressure, the common ailments of todays individual. I lost my brother when he is just 43 years old in 2007 due to Acute Myiocardial Infarction. And all this luxury, I thanks Allah for lending it to me and I hope He will still let he have the luxury as long as possible.

It is so nice to still live and enjoy a healthy life not every individual has. Its so nice to still be able to get involve in extreme sports which can be considered not suitable for my age. I just wonder how I can get involve playing competitive paintball at this age when everytime I visit the playing venue, players of my age is less than a handful.

Syukur Alhamdulillah......I am blessed with a healthy life.

Err99 - Canon Can't Solve IT?

Its about a month now that my Canon 1000D camera was sent back to the service because it can't Auto Focus and the Err99 keeps hogging everytime I press the shutter. Went to the shop last week after getting a call that the is being repaired. It costs me RM340 for faulty of the camera lens and the shutter release. That is for a camera that is still under warranty. I am not sure whether its the manufacturer's fault or the users fault.

How shiok I was when I can get back my camera and the following day is Jomheboh at Bukit Jalil. Now I can go and snap more pictures for the Blog4FT contest. I took the camera around Bukit Bintang and did a few shots to test and suddenly the Err99 message like this appears again. This message was captured when the first time I experience it last August.

I have complained about that Err99 when sending in but it seems the problem has not been solved. So, my assumption is the technician did not do anything about this error. When I send in the camera the first time the guy behind the counter said that its human error and not camera's fault. Human error? Did I change any setting? BTW, I insist that he let the technician check and rectify the problem.

So, after I get that message again (less than hour later), I called the guy and he said that, Error99 cannot be repaired? What? This is a Canon camera. And Canon is not just any brand that has been manufactured in the backlanes of Puchong or Jalan Pasar. Canon is a reputable brand and a world brand. I asked him whether this problem specific to Canon and he said yes. So, is he correct? That Err99 is a Canon problem? If he is right, then Canon camera's is not a good investment after all. Its a technical problem and don't tell me Canon technicians do not know how to overcome Err99.Taking by that guy's word, I am beginning to loose faith in Canon now and if I were to buy a new camera I would go for other brand.

17 Chalets Washed Up

Kosmo online carried a story "17 Chalet Baru Ranap Dilanda Ombak Besar" that happened in Kuantan.

It was so lucky that the chalet has not been occupied as yet. Or else just imagine how many lives could have been lost in the incident.

For some it might be just another story but lets look into a bigger picture. Its a business venture and since it is related to public and human lives, there should be some regulation on the safety aspects. The authority should monitor and regulate buildings of these premises so that it will not leave a bad scar on our country's image especially in the eye of foreign tourists. What has been reported is an example of building such premises on unsafe surroundings.

Its Namewee Again

Maybe most of us already the controvesial Namewee who created waves when he posted his Negara Kuku on You Tube some times ago. He is back and his name appeared again when he gets fuming at the TNB Muar during a blackout. Watch the video clip if you have not.

The Star on-line run a poll seeking views of the public on his so called "rude" and uncalled for action at the TNB office during the blackout. This is the public's response. If you watch the lackadiasal attitude of the staff at the TNB office, you will surely stand behind Namewee.

That is just one example of complaints deprtaments.....
