Relay For Life 2009

TONIGHT AT MSN TRAINING TRACK, BUKIT JALIL,
KUALA LUMPUR.
6.00 p.m TILL 10.00 a.m TOMORROW

I was there and did a few laps too. More update later and pics too.

Hey P1!!!!!!

What happens to P1 coverage? When I first subscribed the signal was satisfactory and I could surf quite comfortably. At least better than Streamyx or Maxis Broadband. I thought my surfing misery is all over. What more, my house (Bukit Jalil) is covered by two base stations according to the coverage map.

However since I paid my first month bill the service is giving me shit now. For three days now (since 28 May 2009) the modem signal light is not showing green anymore. It fluctuate between this
and this. However most of the time it will be this red light showing.
I am wondering what ever happen to the signal strength. Are they upgrading the system or service? If so,why are customers not informed? Or they are just giving a good service until the customer's 7 day trial option expires after which surrendering the modem and terminating the service will cost the customer a penalty which they did not mention as one.

At times now I have to "steal" the signal from my neighbour to surf the net. P1 Wimax! Please wake up.

Light Moment - Haze

Most of us might still remember the haze that hit Malaysia in 1997. After that serious incident, haze arrives on our shore intermittently. On 26 May 2009, I took these photo from my house.

Black Eye: How Can It Be More Interesting?

Former KL CID Chief was reported on April 21 that he is a bankrupt. He is the police officer who investigated DSAI's Black-eye case.

At Malaysian Insider he was reported as as saying, " I say with certainty that there are very powerful hands that wanted it so." Now, don't you think that is interesting? Is Malaysia administered by invisible powerful hands? Our eyes starts seeing these powerful invisible handsn ever since DSAI's sacking in 1998.

From Malaysian Insider verbatim

“I have reasons to believe that the prosecution team anticipated that Anwar will certainly raise at certain point of his trial the issue of fabrication of evidence in the black-eye case. My evidence would be vital at this stage. Their only option is to destroy my credibility.

Read the interesting retaliation by the former KL Mata-mata Gelap Chief.

Performance Now: OMG, Am I Dreaming?

When a foreigner was blown up to peices and investigations carried out, it was found that the unlucky foreigner seems do not enter Malaysia. Suddenly PI (mind you a Private Investigator) went missing after exposing two SDs and nobody knew where he is. Helmi who exposed (read it sexposed) stolen pictures (Bahasa Melayu says it gambar curi) and went missing too and to date he is still missing without trace. Did he left the country or still in Malaysia? Nobody knew. No record at exit points? But never mind about the entry/exit records of those three. It is not important because of you all know why.

But when RPK went missing, the alarm is raised and listed on Interpol to made him able to be extradicted.  How did they found him so easily beside no Immigration records of his whereabout. Oh, maybe he was traced through his Malaysia Today.

Don't all Malaysian think all exit points are very important to Malaysian security. No! thats why we have thousands of PATI and even Mas Selamat managed to enter the country but however was not Selamat.

The question is, what's happening with entry and exit control of our country? Performance Not Yet?

All Of A Sudden

All of a sudden the topic about communism became the highlight on our news, electronic and print. I sensed something is amiss.  Is it because of the coming Manek Urai buy election? Issues that concern unity of Malays will always be brought up by UMNO for their personal gains.

The Star : Beware soft sell of Chin Peng, says Rais. and Sloone's response HERE

Gods Amazing Pharmacy

I would like to share this amazing facts that I received in my buletin board of a social website. Read and relate......

It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, and made animals and fish, long before making man..

To ensure healthful living, God left us some clues as to which foods we should eat to keep specific parts of our body healthy!
We call this God's Amazing Pharmacy.

A sliced carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye. And yes, science now confirms that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to our eyes.

The tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. Research shows that tomatoes are loaded with lycopine, a wonderful heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster resembling the shape of the heart. An individual grape looks like a blood cell and research today shows that grapes are a wonderful heart and blood vitalizing food.
A walnut looks like a little brain, with left and right hemispheres, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums.. Even the wrinkles or folds on a walnut are like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney beans help heal and maintain kidney function and, yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, bok choy, and rhubarb look like bones. These foods target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocados, eggplant and pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female, and they look just like these organs. Research today shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances her hormones, helps shed unwanted birth weight, and helps prevent cervical cancers. How profound is this? It takes nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow.  Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, grapefruits, and other citrus fruits look like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

This candle was lit 15 September, 1998. Please keep it burning by sending this message along to at least one person you love.

 Thank you!

Kak Min Exposed!

Now the true colour of the Penanti by-election is exposed.

She was successful in making herself felt in the Penanti by-election as a candidate against PKR's Dr Mansor and two other independant candidates. I think she had planned it this way because she could foresee that she's a no hoper to win.

Is this the kind of representative that we want to elect? One who set traps to gain mileage. With the exposure from the two mentioned individuals, now we can see that the trap is hitting back on its setter- Perangkap makan tuan.

We should raise our hat to the two PRK officials for coming forward to admit that they are the mentioned individuals in the recorded VCD proof that Kak Min had with her and handed over to SPR. The intention and planning to record the conversation when the two were guests for lunch at her house already showed that she had bad intention. Is this the kind of leader we want?

Fruit With Human Face

Is it photoshopped? You decide.

Politician Son's Caught With Drug

Police arrested the son of a politician from Machang. No names mentioned. The guess is, it must be one of the local opposition political figure. I don't think its the son of the government's politician. If its the governments politician son, names or at least clue has been given to smear him/her andhis/her political party amidst the Penanti and Manik Urai by-election (rad as buy for Manek Urai). Such as when Raja Petra's son admitted, RPK's name was mentioned and frontpaged.  This is 1Malaysia.

Oops, before I go further don't get mixed up. Machang is in Kelantan.

Candlelight Vigil - What Is So Wrong?

There are many ways people express their disatisfaction. Some do it physically and some verbally. Whichever way it is the right of the individual or group to voice out their dissatisfaction because it is much safer than doing it quietly. Doing so can be equated as 'api dalam sekam'.

Lately many assemblies were held to send message to the authority in a peaceful method using candlelight vigil. However candlelight vigil (which is legal) has been labelled as illegal. Most Malaysians wonder why cannot hold candlelight vigil? Is it because the activity add salt to the wound? So now Malaysians who has the right to peaceful assembly as stipulated in the constitution cannot practice it anymore because of people first. Unless if it is organised by the going to be extinct UM.......oh NO!!!!!. This is 1Malaysia- only one people make the decision for the people first.

Malaysiakini today reported that 16 was arrested at Teratai for holding a candlelight vigil. The same kind of activities held is Seri Kembangan has the presence of FRUs.

8 May 2009 - Peaceful candlelight vigil ended with arrest.

What is wrong with candlelight vigil anyway? I am confused.

Blood Pressure

I went to a pharmacy to buy cream for the bruise that I sustained during last weeks paintball training. Got this cream named aobruzzy gel. Since I was at the pharmacy, I requested tocheck my blood pressure and this is the result.

Systolic     133 mmHg
(Normal 90-119)
Diastolic      88mmHg
(Normal 60-79)

The result shows that I am in the prehypertension category. Refer HERE.

But what surprise me is my heart beat. The instrument recorded my heart beat as 58 beat per minute and it was at 9.00 pm,which means I have been moving around but still the heartbeat is low. The last time when I was really active performing my coaching in track and field, cycle for 6 km everyday and swimming every wednesday, my heart beat was 55 bpm.

Before playing paintball my resting heart rate was between 65 - 70 bpm. I now wonder whether my paintball training did lower my heartbeat or something else. A low heartbeat means that the heart do not have to perform much work to pump blood oxygenated to all parts of the body.

Affected By H1N1

This map was taken from Malaysian Insider  showing countries that has reported cases of Influenza A victims.

Influenza A

Swine influenza is known to be caused by influenza A subtypes H1N1,[12] H1N2,[12] H3N1,[13] H3N2,[12] and H2N3.[14] In pigs, three influenza A virus subtypes (H1N1, H3N2, and H1N2) are the most common strains worldwide.[15] In the United States, the H1N1 subtype was exclusively prevalent among swine populations before 1998; however, since late August 1998, H3N2 subtypes have been isolated from pigs. As of 2004, H3N2 virus isolates in US swine and turkey stocks were triple reassortants, containing genes from human (HA, NA, and PB1), swine (NS, NP, and M), and avian (PB2 and PA) lineages.[16

Paintball - New Twist In Training

It was planned as just another paintball training at Astaka in preparation for our next tournament.

However the session turn out unsuspectedly that we had the opportunity to train (play) with one of the best team in the country. Yes, we had played against Delta Rovers a D1 outfit. Imagine a D4 team going up against a D 1 team and eventhough there are some experience players on our side but the full Yakuza team played against them. We did not expect to win at all because all this while we have been sparring with other D4 teams and new players. However we did gave some resistance in the game. Means we are not just sitting ducks under the fire of e markers compared to our mechanical markers. In one of the game, I manage to move up from my back position to the snake and not far from the centre line before being eliminated. Of course experience counts and I never played snake before.

Playing with Delta Rovers did boost our motivation and morale when no one of us were eliminated during the breakout (I was expecting that during the 10 seconds count). Unlike our normal game when we try to evade a few oncoming pellets but this time it was raining of pellets.

Concluding that, we now found out our confidence level was raised and looking forward to (train) play with experienced teams in the higher Divisions in future. This way it is a shortcut to improving performance. The training helps us a lot in learning about our own mistakes and how to think and overcome the opponent with much experience. So, after that first experience, we are more confident to play or spar with any teams now irrespective of divisions.

Grafitti = Vandalism?

Grafitti according to Wikipedia Graffiti (singular: graffito; the plural is used as a mass noun) is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property. Graffiti is sometimes regarded as a form of art and other times regarded as unsightly damage or unwanted.

Is grafitti actually a nuisance?

In most countries, defacing property with graffiti without the property owner's consent is considered vandalism.

Pictures posted blow was taken on the walls along Sungai Gombak Gombak next to the Pasar Seni LRT Station and one on the perimeter wall of TNB. Can this be considered vandalism?

It is art but maybe the way applied without permisison of the owner of the property. Looking at the photos do you think it looks nicer than just a plain wall? Maybe the authority can use these grafitti artist, legalise their art work and get them to decorate plain dull walls with their skillful hands instead of being posted illegally with Along's posters or other illegal advertisement that is an eyesore. Maybe all LRT pillars being decorated with Grafitti and who know Kuala Lumpur city might be known as the city legal Grafitti's.
This Grafitti at the Masjid Jame underground station was made by TM.
Is Grafitti vandalism after all?

Sorry Penantians

Gas Cylinders- Talking Of Expiry

I read about gas cylinders that might be expired but still being used on homes of consumers. This is a safety hazard and accident waiting to be happened. Read Life's Happenings

After reading the blog I checked the gas cylinder in my home. Saw some data printed on the outside of one of the handle stem. The date the cylinder was produced is stated as 199 and an unclear figure that I think is 2. So that gas cylinder was produced in 1992. The line below stated as tarikh diuji. It is 199 and the last figure was very unclear and I can't make it as 2,3 or 8. I guessed based on the top markings. If it was tested in 1992 then the cylinder now is 17 years old. If it was produced in 1993 then it is 16 years old. Finally if it was produced in 1998 then it is 11 years old now.

As posted by Life's Happenings, a gas cylinder will expire after 11 years of usage. Whatever the year I think the life of the cylinder must have been expired or based on the last data (1998) it will expire or had expired if it was produced in the first quater of the year. You can guess which gas company that supplied me the cylinder based on the colour.
The question is, are gas companies being regulated by the authority on usage of expired gas cylinders in homes. Or if being regulated but due to Malaysia Boleh , "never mind la, tong masih ok. Tak boleh meletup la." That is also what the distributor will 'assure' you when they sell or door delivered to us consumers.

Blogging In Kudat

Arrived Kudat this evening and recalling all the sweet and not so sweet memories when I was working in Sabah.

Stayed at the Kudat Golf and Marina Resort. Too bad I am not playing golf. It was a tiring journey and had travelled the whole day.

Left my house at 7.30 in the morning and arrived Kudat at about 6.45 in the evening. Nearly 12 hours of travelling. The best thing is that I arrived earlier than my luggage. The luggage arrived about 9.50 tonight. There is an interesting reason for that. I don't have the time to relate the whole story of this journey tonight. Maybe I'll post it in my other blog

My guess was wrong. I was looking forward to a no internet access but now I can surf at the lobby of the hotel. So I am not lost after all.

Ohhh.....hungry. Gotto go out for dinner. Will post later......

What A Joke

I was googling for hotels in Kudat, Sabah and got a hard tickling on my stomach. I click on one of the search results. The satelite map pointed to where Kinabalu Hotel is : Block C, Sedco Shophouse, 89057 Kudat, Sabah. The hotel is situated somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean south of Nigeria. No! I am not joking. See for yourself the map that I screen captured.

If I am not a Malaysian and has very limited knowledge about the place, I might have bought a plane ticket to Nigeria or Ghana and swim with all my luggage to checkin at Kinabalu Hotel, in Kudat.

Hey!!Don't laugh la. I am not joking.

I am leaving for Kudat on Airasia Sunday 10 May.

Fully Loaded - Errr..Geared (Updated)

My latest look. Attire completed. Whats next. Too bad training was cancelled after I get these gears. Hand itchy already. Below on-site photo.

Survivor Robinson Expedition

From Scandasia.com verbatim;

This year’s edition of the Danish version of the world-wide reality show ‘Survivor’ (Robinson Ekspeditionen), which is filmed in Malaysia, will contain a naked-race – a running contest, where the contestants run in the nude. This action has made several opinion makers criticise the TV-show for deliberately humiliating the participants.

Yes!, will we be able to see this reality show? Will our own TV station copy this program?
Report below picked from The Star Online HERE.

Bare naked on Johor isle

Compiled by SIM LEOI LEOI, BEH YUEN HUI and A.RAMAN

AN ISLAND off Mersing in Johor has become a hot spot after it was used as the location for a European reality show, which had its participants running stark naked.

Scenes from the Survivor Robinson Ekspeditionen programme, which had been broadcast over TV3 in Denmark, were published on an online newspaper ScandAsia.com.

A reader with family ties to Malaysia alerted Harian Metro about the programe.

In the scenes, both men and women were seen running along a sandy beach without a stitch on.

The Danish national who e-mailed the images to Metro said he was surprised that the Malaysian authorities had allowed the filming although the show was soft porn.

It is believed that this was the first time the programme had made 16 out of its 22 participants strip naked for the run while five others got to keep their underwear on.

It is also understood that a woman who refused to strip was kicked out of the show and sent home to Denmark.

An official at the Mersing District Council said it had only allowed the filming after telling the producers that they could not have naked scenes on the island as it might offend local residents.

“The filming was originally scheduled at Pulau Besar for this and next month before moving to other islands,” he said.

The Star (Najib: Fiasco has tarnished our image)

Thats the headline in The Star online edition. Reading the headline alone spark a question from me. Who started it all in the first place? Who was Perak UMNO Ketua Perhubungan when the coup de etat took place last Frbruary? Now its seems that he is pointing his fingers on the victim.

From The Star verbatim;

We should be showing to the world that we respect the rule of law. Even if we do not like something, we cannot push our point of view to the extent that we deny the right of others.(True, when the rakyat pick Pakatan Rakyat as their governemnt, then respect the peoples choice. We cannot push our point of view to the extent that we deny the right of others. Just wait fir PRU 13 to take change the government legally)

Changing party is a normal thing in a parliamentary democracy. Winston Churchill changed parties twice.(To prevent them from changing take them for a study visit somewhere)

“In the United States, a Republican Senator recently crossed over to become a Democrat Senator. It is not unconstitutional to do so and it is also not illegal.”(Then what DSAI's attempt last year was not unconsitutional).

The Malay proverb; Siapa meludah ke langit akan kena dirinya semula.

Gosh!!

True Image Of BN

What a shameful day at Perak DUN. 7 Mei 2009 can now be a black spot on Malaysian Democracy . We once use to laugh at Tiawanese lawmakers who were involved in a fiasco too some times ago. Now it happens in our own backyard. Its on YouTube and the world can witness themselves the mockery made by BN reps who are suppose to work for the people but now they are doing it for their own greed.

Divorced- Now I Have To Carry Extra

You all know about loyalty cards. Its just the way lifestyles is nowadays. Most business outlets are coming up with loyalty cards as to lure their customers back and accumulate points to exchange for gifts later on. To tell the truth I am a card collector, I mean loyalty card collector. I will sign up for any loyalty program if there is no membership or processing fee involve. Uusally membership will be Free for the fisrt year. I am not an avid shopper, so I do not collect many points and when there is a need for renewal with membership, I will just let the membership self destruct (errr..I mean terminated).

The first loyalty program card I used was Bonus Link but when Real Rewards came, I get more comfortable using the latter. The most valid reason for me using it is I can collect more point with its 1:1 basis compared to the former. Then I lost my Bonus Link together with my wallet and I never applied for a renewal. So I only used Real rewards because it combined with Petronas's Mesra Card. It's easy to carry just a single card when I can collect points at Petronas service stations or shopping at supermarkets that award points for shopping.

This is the common loyalty card that I had been using

Then Mesra card decided to severe the ties. I knew about it when I receive a letter from the card provider. So, I applied for a new Mesra Card at Petronas............

........and the new Real Rewards Card.
Now I have to carry an extra card. It do make my wallet fatter. Not with flexible cash but plastic cards.
