KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd said vehicle owners who apply in person for fuel subsidy payments at post offices will be paid in cash.
If a third party comes to claim on a car owner or motorcyclist's behalf, Pos Malaysia will mail money orders to the address given at the post office, the company said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.
"Details of the procedures and related documents required for claims will be announced very soon," Pos Malaysia said.
As part of the revamp of the fuel subsidy scheme, vehicles with valid road tax from April 1 until March 31, 2009 are entitled for the annual subsidy.
Owners of cars up to 2000cc as well as pick-up trucks and also jeeps of up to 2500cc will receive RM625 for each of the vehicles.
Owners of motorcycles up to 250cc will receive RM150 each.
