KLP Highway is completed and has been opened to users since 13th December 2007. The construction of the highway in the early days created a protest by residents of Seri Petaling because part of the highway is too near to the row of houses on both side of it. Worse still on one side the houses are below the highway and if any vehicle were to loose control and veered away it has the possibility of falling onto any of the house below it.
As usual there will be toll and collection will take effect from 12 midnight tonight (16th January 2008), says Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.
The cabinet agreed that the charges at the Putrajaya Toll Plaza would be
RM2.50 for Class 1 vehicles (cars),
RM5 for Class 2 (small lorries),
RM7.50 for Class 3 (big lorries),
RM1.30 for Class 4 (taxis)
RM2.50 for Class 5 (buses).
Toll charges at the Salak Selatan Toll plaza would be;
RM1.50 for Class 1,
RM3 for Class 2,
RM4.50 for Class 3,
RM0.80 for Class 4
RM1.50 for Class 5
Construction cost RM1.4 billion.
Distance - 26km from Kampung Pandan roundabout to Putrajaya
Motorists can have an alternative route to Putrajaya, KLIA, Seri Petaling, Puchong, Salak Selatan and the surrounding areas from Kuala Lumpur and vice-versa.
