Starting tomorrow (17th January) all government servant must wear batik to work. This is is a follow up of the same directive issued sometime ago when they are compulsory to wear it on Saturdays. After Saturday has been made a rest day, they are to wear it on every 1st and 15th of every month. This result in many forget about the dates and wearing of batik is not in effect even though still a directive.
From this week onward, they will not forget again because they have to wear it on every Thursday. The directive also specify that they must wear Malaysian batik since the main objective is to promote the local batik industry as was mooted by the late Datin Seri Endon.
