The concept of Rest and Refresh area with overhead bridge consisting of restaurants by PLUS is a good idea to create a meeting point between both bound of traveller. Since the highway is divided by barriers that prohibits both side of traffic meet with the other side, the overhead bridge is the only way to meet. However at one time it has been used as an avenue to cheat the tool when drivers from both sides meet and exchange toll transit ticket.
There are two R&R with overhead bridge restaurants on PLUS Highways, one at Sungai Buloh (North Bound) and another at Air Keroh (South Bound) in Malacca.
I had stopped for breakfast at the Sungai Buloh overhead bridge R&R and for the first time tried the Kopitiam. Its the Kaya Kopitiam next to Kentucky Fried Chicken. As the usual kopitiam, the setting is like the old kedai kopi with marble tables, thick flowery cups and saucer and roti bakar as the main menu. The modern kopitiam has added more than roti bakar.
There are three choice of breakfast menu and I choose menu B that is made up of a one inch mamak style bread and grilled with kaya and butter, two half boiled egg (Grade A) and a cup of either coffee or another drink of your choice. My choice was priced at RM 5.78 inclusive of tax.
The other choice which is Menu A is made up of roti bakar, two peice of sunny side fried egg, two sticks of sausage. Menu C is just roti bakar.
