I was present at Pakatan Rakyats ceramah tonight in Permatang Pauh. The main speaker was Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who will be standing for the by-election for P44 on 26th August 2008. The ceramah was held at Taman Pauh Indah with a packed crowd on the football field and overflowing to the road around the field. I for once saw that the crowd is made up of Malays, Chinese and Indians. I use to attend PAS ceramahs and attended y Malays but this PR ceramah shows a Malaysian blend.
Besides DSAI, also present is Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, YB Azmin Ali, YB Salahudin Ayub and leaders from DAP and PKR youth wing. During the ceramah, the gerakan Pemuda Pakatan Rakyat was launched and they will start their assignment with the campaign for Permatang Pauh.
Tonight also mark the 61st birthday of Datuk Seri AnwarIbrahin with a small ceremony where Datuk Seri anwar was presented with a birthday cake.
The people of Permatang Pauh was advised not to sit on their laurel by assuming that is an easy victory for DSAI since UMNO is cunning and they have everything up their sleeves to set the result in favour of them. This can be done because 'Malaysia Boleh'. It is well known that SPR is being tagged as one of the coalition of BN.
During the ceramah the voters of Permatang Pauh was also advised to vote wisely because their vote is not only for the constituency of Permatang Pauh but for the 27 million Malaysians who are fed up with BN. This is an opportunity for the voters to chose not an ordinary candidate but one that is popularly known worldwide and the next Prime Minister of Malaysia.
