Apology: I misread the name of Tun Ms son who quit UMNO. He is Datuk Mokhzani and NOT Datuk Mukhriz. I apologize to Datuk Mukhriz for the mistake. Note: I have made amendments to my post earlier.
It was an earth shaking announcement from one man who used to rule Malaysia as an administrator that he quit UMNO and giving an ultimatum that he will rejoin if the present President resign as PM and President of UMNO. I call it earthshaking because there is an earthquake in Tawau and Sumatra greeting of the resignation (?) What an earth shattering decision. I was in Labuan and watch TV3's Nightline for the earthshattering announcement. And of course I felt the Tawau earthquake effect at the place I was in Labuan.
Today NST carry a report that the resignation was due to a dare by a man by the name of Ismail Pak Wan Teh. After Tun M took the dare, he a 42 years old Jerlun PAS division Chairman and tagged as a hero. Jerlun is also a parliament constituency under Tun M's son Datuk Mukhriz who did not want to follow his father's decision. The latest news as published in The Star online that after two days after his brother made the decision stand by and to remain the President's man his brother Datuk Mokhzani is resigning too. The Tawau and Sumatran earthquake has done more damage than expected, I suppose. The aftershock of the resignation of the former PM will be more interesting after this. Will the wall crumble or those loyalist still stand behind the President?
UPDATED.
The Star report : Mukhriz said he hoped "action will be taken before the party’s branch level meetings in July, and if the Prime Minister still does not step down by then, I reserve the right to take a different stand.
