Pig Farm- Wrong Footstep?

I think this is the first major issue that cropped up in BR ruled state. Protest has been organised the same as what happened when The Broga Incinerator project were to be built which in the end being scrapped.

I have seen and read blogs from some bloggers who were behind the success of PR during the last election is also not happy with the proposed project.

How modern the farm to be, it definitely does not come well when majority of the people in Malaysia are Muslims and the official religion is Islam. This has nothing to do with racial issues or religion but since Islam is the official religion of the country and its followers prohibits taking pork, the the source too must not be promoted.

This proposal even though was planned by the former BN (read as Kerajaan Barisan Nasional) government but it was not implemented yet. To PR, do not let this sensitive issue be a turning point to swing back the support of the people to the former government. Pig is a sensitive issue for Muslims. Therefore approving the project is tantamount to promoting the consumption of pork. If those people who can eat pork, let them do it without any restriction as long as cultural guidelines are not crossed. I see the project as promoting pig rearing and syubahah.
