Tonight there will be a gathering called BLACK 14, derived from April 14, 1999, the day Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was convicted of corruption and the event tonight is also as a countdown to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's end of five-year ban on contesting the election and holding public-political office. The event to be held at Sultan Sulaiman's Club in Kampung Baru and about 150 people is expected to join the dinner at the private premise, The Kelab Sultan Sulaiman was where the Malays held their first gathering which resulted in the ‘struggle’ for Merdeka and which finally saw the birth of this nation on 31st August 1957.- Malaysia Today.
NST reports; KUALA LUMPUR: Police have not received any application for a gathering in Kampung Baru today and warned that they would break it up if there were disturbances.
It is not expected to be attended by thousand because according to UMNO Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PKR is not relevant anymore. So there will be no grand gathering to celebrate someone who is not relevant. Is it? Well, they said so.
