Ceramah Kesyukuran PAS Kedah

Thousands of Kedahans throng Kompleks PAS Kedah in Kota Sarang Semut last night to celebrate the victory of the PAS-PKR-DAP coalition, taking over the state government from BN. The coalition won 22 seats against BN 14. The coalition also wins 11 parliamentary seats againset 4 by BN. The formation the new Kedah State Government by PAS_PKR_DAP created a new page in history.

The trunk road was jam for a few kilometres on both directions. I too had to park my car two kilometres away and had to walk to the venue. Supporters from all walks of life attended the function as a thanksgiving ceramah. The ground was packed and petty traders are making good business. Stalls selling PAS souvenir and T shirts are raking in good money since the victory created an atmosphere of excitement for the people of Kedah. Excitement is actually in the air.

Supporters applauded when a police escort for the first time make his way into the compound scorting a PAS man, who is the new Menteri Besar of Kedah.

Even though the excitement of the Kedahan filled the air there are grouses since not everybody can enter the hall. A large screen was erected outside for those who can't enter the packed hall and another was flashed onto the wall outside the hall. However due to the poor sound system, the speeches were drowned by the voice of supporters who are still unsettled. Movements are everywhere. I over heard that PAS should have organised this function at the Darulaman Stadium where there more space and not create a massive jam along the trunk road outside the complex.

For the first time I did not see any police roadblock when there is a PAS ceramah at the compound.
