London Bridge Is Falling Down

Remember the nursery rhyme that you might use to sing during your kindergarten days? I copied the lyric below from somewhere for you to sing and refresh your nostalgic young days as kids. How happy you are those days when you have nothing to think about hardship. In those days what comes into our mind is just to ask from our parents and expect everything be put on the table for your access. No!, I am not writing about London Bridge falling down. Its The Kilim Bridge Fell Down. Yes, the bridge constructed over Sungai Kilim in Langkawi fell down after the supporting structures were taken off. (So it was said)

The near completed bridge over Sungai Kilim and below what is left of the bridge after it collapse. But wait!!!!!. Are these pictures of the same bridge? Or Star is just trying to conceal something? Take your time to compare the two pictures. Both pictures were copied from The Star online.

Star reports states; Nawawi noted that the 2m-wide bridge did not have physical support at the centre and the investigating team would also check if this contributed to the collapse.

Read this too. There is no physical support too, is 4000 feet above Colorado river and can accommodate 120 people comfortably, although it is designed to hold 72 million pounds of weight. The walkway has a glass bottom and sides and is supported by steel beams.

The lucky part is that the bridge collapsed before being handed over to Lada. What if the bridge collapse when it is in use by tourist and worse still if it claim some live. Who the contractor is (or are?) Remember what happens to the computer labs build in schools some years back? When contractors are 'my men /our man' it can lead to mishaps.
