Today 3rd January 2008 is the first day for school session for 2008 in states that have Sundays as weekends. Schools in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu were open yesterday 2nd January.
If for those who work, first day of the week is called Monday blues and can we call this first day of school the ermmmm....what blue? Semester blue? First Day blue? Well, what ever la.
For some its a brand new experience as this is the beginning of their journey on the path of education. For others is another year to struggle in quest of seeking education. Darjah Satu pupil will come to school in all kinds of feelings, excited, nervous, afraid etc. I just can't remember what happen to me on my first day. But I can remember my late brother's first day blues. He was sent to school by my father and since he can get acquainted well with school life on first day, my father just left him and came back. When my father return in the afternoon to fetch him back from school, he found out that my brother did not enter the class after going out for recess. And why the class teacher did not search for him? I wonder.
Days of crying on the first day is over for most standard one pupil. Maybe the change in the system of sending kids to kindergartens before going to school help cope this blues.
Even though my youngest son is going to Tahun 3, I did go to the school in the morning to settle the fees. However it was announced that fees will not be collected as yet. Letters will be sent out later and I hope as late as the next pay day. I am as good as broke this moment after spending RM 2500 on my car last week. So the announcement is quite of a breather to me. Anybody want to make donation? LOL
