Harian Metro today reports that MTUS and Ceupacs will launch the first phase to boycott items that has been increased indiscriminately during this festive season. It will be launched this sunday at 3.00 p.m. Leaflets urging consumers to boycott and list of things involved will be distributed to consumers at the Sungai Besi toll plaza between 3.00 and 5.00 p.m. on that day.
Everytime then there is price increase, the issue of boycotting certain item arises, but how far are consumers ready to boycott. Malaysian consumers from my point of view will rather continue buying it and accompany with grumbling. Yes, our consumers just grumble but refuse to take action. Nobody will die by boycotting them. As long as we the consumer are not ready to boycott we will always be at the losing end, not the supplier.
