A few days back we read about the gruesome murder of an undergraduate in Cheras and this time mStar reports of a gang rape that happens in Johor Bharu. What is more astonishing is that the gang rapers are teenagers who might be our future generation of leaders and the victim is a 30 years old women. The four rapers were made up of tenagers aged 16 and 17 and one of them surprising just a 12 years old.
So, it is safe for women nowadays, no matter how old she is.

I went out to Bukit Bintang on Saturday 4th August with my wife son and a grandson. After window shopping, I decided to give them a treat at Starbucks in front of BB Plaza. Ordered Raspberry juice for myson and grandson and two espresso for me and my wife. Well, my wife was surprised at the size of the esperesso cup and the price of it. At home we use just gulp that in one shot. Then my wife asked me to buy mineral water to add up to the thick espresso.
On the way back from the nearby stall after buying a 500 ml mineral water for RM 2.50, I saw a scuffle and never thought anything of a set up. I thought it was just someone creating trouble. A few guys fall and in fron of my eyes I see a man picked a wallet from a guys pocket. I was a bit surprise but could not think that quick that it was a pickpocket. I regret my slow reaction. I even saw the guy walk calmly past me and you know what? That guy was the man who pick pocket. Then I saw one Mid East guy checking his pocket and realise that his wallet was missing.
I immediately alert the man and try to lead him the way the man who pick pocket. He dissapear in thin air. So, I advise the Mid East man to go to the police beat base nearby and lodge a report.
Just imagine if you are in that situation. Being in a foreign land, you pocket being picked and leaves with no money, no relatives and no friends. I pity the man and hope that is not a tourist but working in Malaysia.
Till writing this blog, I still felt regret not pinning down the man who pick pocket when he walk past me. I was some sort of feeling dazed at the quick incident and just couldn't react as fast. I felt that I fail to perform my duty as a bystander who witness a crime.
I think at places where tourist congregate such as Bukit Bintang there should be more plainclothes policeman instead of just one (I saw) at the beat base about 50 metres away from the place where the incident I mentioned happens and it was hidden from the CCTV because of a tent set up for the stage show nearby.
However if the police needs my assistance to help identify the culprit, I am ready to serve them because when the man leaves the place he walks towards the traffic light and there is a CCTV. If the police want to locate me just leave a comment on this blog and I will response. (Sorry, can't reveal my phone number on this public place). I am looking forward to help fight crime what more committed on a tourist.

U tried your best cause i think the whole thing happened very fast...and ur thoughts would not have compute so fast for you to react.
Next time when u go down, becareful too, do not know when these people will strike.
It's a pity that nowadays pickpocketing is developing with great force and isn't paid special attention to.
Normal what, its Malaysian culture. The talk about pickpocketing season is over. Its bas express accident season now. So, lets see what season will come next.
The authority also wakes up during those seasons.
