The highest football competition in Asia will lay down its curtain with the finals between The Kingdom of
Saudi of Arabia and Iraq at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on 29 July 2007. The third and fourth placing has been decided between South Korea and Japan where the
Koreans beat Japan with a 6-5 penalty shootout after a goaless draw that drags into extra time.

It seems that the four top teams in Asia can be concluded that they are from Middle East and Far East. South Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam), Central Asia (Uzbekistan) and South Asia needs to buck up in order to raise the standards of football so that it be more balanced. Even the presence in the world cup finals came from these two regions of Asia. To raise the standard of football in Asia and having a well balanced distribution of teams something needed to be done. Looking back at the standings table only
Malaysia did not collect any points for the competitions.
FAM its your answer.
With the inclusion of Australia into the
AFC zone (Asean Region) Malaysia will be pushed further down the rankings and slimming down the chance of qualifying to the Olympics, asian Games and World Cup.
