Going For Ultrasound Scan

I took leave today to to go to HUKM (Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) in Bandar Tun Razak for an ultrasound scan of my thyroid gland. I was at the same hospital last month after beig referred by my companys' panel clinic after I complained of a bulge on my neck. The doctor suspected a thyroid nodules.

During the first visit my blood was taken for the blood test and also did the FNA procedures. While waiting for my turn to be scanned, I was pondering about the fate of people around me. Visiting a hospital does open up my mind that there are many more people who are more unfortunate than me, either being at a younger age or older. To me I should convey my thanks (syukur) to Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala for giving me the health that is needed by everybody. At my age I can consider myself very lucky for not being affected with high blood sugar, diabetes and heart problem; the three most common ailment to human especially as they aged.

As I lay down on the treatment table and being scanned, I was hoping that what they detect is not serious that need an operation. I pray that what I am going through us just a minor comma on my body and can be treated with medication.

Next week (24th January 2007) will be the appointment day with the doctor to analyse my blood sample, FNA results and ultrasound scan.
