Summon to Court -6 Nov 2006

For the second time in my life, I step into a court room. The fort time was about in mid 90s when I was summoned to be a witness for the government. I was still living in Alor Setar then. Actually me and my wife were witness of an accident whereby it involved two death. And both of us were part of the accident scenario. I was driving my motorbike and my wife pillionride and we were on our wat to buy clothes for the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. When a guard railing of furniture lorry on the run hit us on the helmet and drive us to the roadside and I was unconcious until someone took me to the hospital.

We persent ourselves during the proceeding and after a few hearing only I was called to the witness stand.

Today 6th November again I enter a Magistrate court in Shah Alam. This time is just to confess of a traffic offence. It was my daughter riding the motorbike from home to UiTM where she is studying. She was stopped by JPJ officers and were charged RM800 for three offences- expired driving licence, no incurance cover and expired road tax.

I was summoned to court on three fault - did not heed to JPJ's summon to bring my motorbike to them (I did not receive that summon), expired road tax and no insurance cover. The first carries a maximum of RM 2000 fine. OMG. I was looking at myself sleeping behind bars. After the case has been read out to me, I just confess and when the magistrate asked whether I want to plead for a lighter fine I said, "Yang arif, Saya.... mengaku bersalah dan pada hari itu saya terpaksa membenarkan anak saya itu membawa kenderaan berkenaan sebagai alternatif teakhir kerana dia ingin pergi mencari ilmu." Phew, I was fined RM 150 for each offence. Relief at last

"Terima kasih Puan"
