Nasi Lemak is another popular dish among Malaysians. The dish was once taken only as breakfast but now its a round the clock item. Malaysian has accepted nasi lemak as another food that can be taken anytime at either roadside stalls and restaurants.

One popular nasi lemak stall is the Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa at Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur. The roadside stall cum restaurant live up to its name with a list of international popular names who had patroned the stall displayed on the wall. They also include local and foreign VIPs.

Most of the time patron have to queue up to order the dish. Basic nasi lemak is made up of rice boiled usually with coconut milk to give its name lemak (in Bahasa Malaysia it means fat). Then we have ikan bilis (anchovy) sliced cucumber, boiled egg and thick sambal (gravy). The sambal is hot for some foreigners.

If you want extra toppings, there are fried chicken, liver, chicken heart, fried cockle, cuttlefish etc. Price range will depend on what toppings you asked for.
