Avoid Paracetamol For Gastric Problems

The best solution for most of us if we are down with fever or pain is to take painkiller, and the most popular of all is Panadol. Panadol is a brand name for paracetamol. And paracetamol can even come in any brand.

I receive an email reminding of avoiding taking paracetamol especially if one has gastric problems. The content on the email is based on someones experience with the medical community.

A man who works as an IT Engineer in a hospital was on an assignment to set up a database for its patient and as staff, he knew some of the doctors well. The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, they are not willing to take paracetamol (panadol) and turn to Chinese Herbal Medicine instead or find other alternatives.

The reason why they avoid taking paracetamol is because it is toxic to the body and can harm the liver. According to the doctor, paracetamol will reside in the body for at least five years and there used to be an incident where an air stewardess in her 30s, who consume a lot of paracetamol during her menstrual as she needs to stand all the time during her flight, has to undergo dialysis treatment every month.

Whenever we have a headache, it is because of the electron /Ion imbalance in the brain. As an alternative solution to cope with this matter, Isotonic drink was suggested. Buy a can or two of Isotonic drink and mix it with drinking water in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply it means one cup of Isotonic drink to one cup or two cups of plain water).

Another method is to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it brings the blood pressure down from your throbbing head.

Since paracetamol is a pain killer, the more you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance for pain).

Everybody will at one time or another will fall ill and as we aged it might become more prevalent especially for women because they have to go through childbirth. Imagine that women had spent their entire life popping quite a substantial amount of paracetamol when they need to have a surgery or operation. They will need a much more amount of general anesthetic to numb the surgical pain than the average person who seldom or rarely take paracetamol.

For women who have a very high intake of paracetamol throughout their life (Migraine, Menstrual Cramps) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on the body as the body is pumped full with paracetamol and the body is so used to painkiller that she would need a much stronger pain killer, morphine.

Value your life. Think before you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth again.
