The Congestion At The New Express Bus Terminal

Since the temporary Express Bus Terminal was set up opposite the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Jalan Merah Cagar became congested most of the time starting in front of the LRT Station until the traffic light near the KESAS Expressway.

One reason is due to haphazard parking of cars along the two lane road that reduce it to just one lane. It seems that the authority did not take any action on the driver who park their car along the road. The congestion become worse because it is also the route for Express buses to enter and exit the terminal. Drivers who stop on the road  to enable their passenger embark or disembark helps alleviate the situation. Where are the traffic police or DBKL enforcement officers when the public are in this kind of situation.

The same road is also the route taken by those staying in Bukit Jalil especially Arena Green and Vista Komanwel to enter the Kesas Expressway or MRR II. For them to enter the KL-Seremban Highway through Bukit Jalil Highway will be worse still because the jam alonn Jalan Barat leading to the highway is worse especially during peak hours and in the evening after working hour.

The congestion on Jalan Merah Cagar can be reduced if DBKL or KESAS Expressway open up the exit at the traffic light below the MEX Highway from Jalan Barat towards Seri Petaling (marked X on the map below). The junction has been blocked with concrete dividers. If  it is opened up, then drivers can enter the KESAS Highway towards KL without going through Jalan Merah Cagar.
