Roti Canai Teh Tarik In The News

Teh Tarik and Roti Canai...........................
Pics credit to The Star online.

This is not about my blog but coincidently has the same name with this blog.

Its about just having One Ringgit Malaysia, you can have a light breakfast in line with the norm of typical Malaysian breakfast. A piece of roti canai costs RM 0.40 and a glass of teh tarik RM 0.60. Now this restaurant is proving to all mamak stalls and restaurant in the whole country that you can still make profit with that meagre price of food.

Ukhwah Restoran Rakyat 1Malaysia at Lorong MedanTuanku Satu, Kuala Lumpur will definitely get full support from customers especially in this time of economic downturn. They have already create shivers among mamak restaurant who sent the operator clear message to "maintain the market price". Thumbsup for the operator who exposedthe actual price of the favourite Malaysian breakfast food and those mamak roti canai sellers had been doing cut throat business because customers have no choice.

However there will be a steback for restuarant in the near future. Those mamak restaurants around the area will do something put the Ukhwah Restoran in bad light and maybe in bad shape. It affect their business.

This exposure should open the eyes of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Ministry that the mamak stalls have been doing cut throat business at the the consent of consumers. Now the government can't give another excuse of flour price increase to keep the roti canai at its present price of between RM 0.80 and RM 1.00. If Ukhwah Restoran can still make a 20 cent profit by selling it at RM 0.40, why not decrease the standard priceof roti canai then.

Now with this news read also how much I paid for a plain roti canai in Miri, last week.
