Saturday I will be heading to ASTAKA in Petaling Jaya again. It will be another paintball training for the team that I belong to - Yakuza. This will be my second training for me and a third for the Yakuza. Our first training was when we were preparing for the NPL first leg 2009. We did well during the NPL being in the sweet 16. We are 13th out of 28 teams in Div 4. That was a promising start for our barely one month old team and formed out of scratch with unexperience players, three but two are first timers at paintball.
The second training was held a few weeksago but I was not available since I have to go to Kuching for an official duty. We lost two members from the initial team. First we lost Celine who pulled out on her own reason and then after the NPL we lost a second player who also pulled out for his reason HERE. So we have to recruit new player. Found out we have a new player in one of our player, Evo's brother, Jin. So now the team is back to five players. However, for NPL we can register seven names. So with us only five players, we have to be super fit and avoid any injuries to be able to play in all the games for the League. We do not have any choice for replacement. Now there is still two more place in our team.
For tomorrow's training I am asking my daughter to join and see whether she can fit into the team. She was a national women's football player who played in Korat during the last SEA Games and Asian Women's Football Qualifying. Then she took up touch rugby and lately promoted to normal rugby. With her capability to play such rough game for a women, I am hoping she can fit well into paintball too. Only one worry is wether she will like paintball or not.
Since playing this extreme sport, I have been following the development especially blogs and forums to know the ropes of paintball better. Moreover I am planning to write a book about the game in Bahasa Melayu. I subscribe to Google Alert about paintball and has been receiving alerts daily on new articles and discussions about paintball. From that alert too, I knew that Tipman A5 marker have some factory flaws and the company is pulling back the equipment from the market. Seems that worldwide, paintball is a serious sports.
