It was my first visit to Ikea at Damansara last weekend. I and my family was on the way back from Sri Damansara to send my cousin to his rented supposed to be college accomodation. The perception of a college accomodation that I imagined was way way far from projected in their website. See accompanied picture.
What I actually saw was an environment of a low cost flats with dilapdated facilities and was not well maintained. What a shame if a foreign student were to come and stay in this kind of accomodation. My evaluation is it's not fit to be called a decent accomodation for students. The supposed to be accomodation were only rented three rooms apartment (if it can be called an apartment) from individuals andwithout proper security which should be provided for them.
What you see in the picture is fare different from the actual on site condition. Just like if you see a hotel room advertisement is very different from the actual room you rent out for the night.
On the way back my wife suggested that we stop at IKEA since we are already there. I drove to IKEA and for the first time drop by that area where there is The Curve, Ikano Power Centre, Courts and Tesco.
I know it might sound awkward but I was surprised to see the 'huge' household equipment store. I have never been to such a big store before and now only I understand why many people talks about IKEA when they mention about buying furniture for their home.
At first we were just trying to look for cushion cover for the settee but did not know the design number so wedid notbuy anything. Walking around we did pick up something of this and something of that and in the end bought things of RM110.00 which give me a FREE parking.
We did lost our way on the way to Ikano Power Centre.
Then again I went out the wrong way that ended up on the toll highways which I really hate because of the toll. Infact using the highway is further than using the untolled road back if I were to go through Bangsar and Jalan Istana to KL-Seremban highway. To me whenever travelling, I will try to avoid the highway as far as possible because of one reason. I am anti toll and alreadypaid my road tax to the government. So the government is responsible to provide me with free usage of all accessible roads.
