A Sin Is A Sin

All of a sudden the subject of yoga has become a topic of debate. The decision of the Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan edict that yoga is haram (prohibited) eventhough for Muslims  might offend the Hindus since the practice of yoga  is related to the religion. However this edict does not affectnon Muslim. They are still free to practice the meditation and exercise.

As to other edicts, the responsible authority is just putting things straight. Whatever is stated in the Quran and Hadiths are laws to be followed by all Muslims. There is no question about it. The National Fatwa Council has already released the edict that smoking is haram, but still there many Muslims smoke including the imams and religuous scholars. It is as simple as committing a sin and one will be punished according to the sin committ. Every human being committ sins the prophet.

Whether the National Fatwa Council decided on the edict or not, whatever is not in tandem with Islam is haram. So, the National Fatwa Council's edict is nothing to shout about.
