I surfed and read Kenny Sia's blog and he pointed out one thing that has been a normal practice in the business sector. Price quoted on menus in certain restaurant does not reflect the actual price a diner has to pay. I agree that price should already include tax so we can plan and budget our expenditure before deciding to buy our meals. Go and read his argument.
Today I tried out MAS advertisement about its all-inclusive low fare promotion. I make a search for the Kuala Lumpur Kota Kinabalu sector and viola!! I get this one way price at RM 199 (the MH Basic frills) eventhough when I click the advertisment (like the one below) the fare shown is RM 103. Its rather cheap for the trip crossing the South China Sea. It is the "actual" price because it is All Inclusive (includes fuel surgharge, airport tax, insurance levy).

If the fare for one person is RM 199 then for two will be RM 398 one way and return will be RM 796. However at the bottom of the page the Total price including tax is RM 1612. There is a difference of RM 816.
I am puzzled:
I thought the basic no frills is all inclusive but the total price still includes tax. What tax does they mean? The tax is higher than the ticket price. After all MAS claim that there is no hidden cost and what you see is what you pay for.
Anyone can help me clear this......?
