HINDRAF Today

Today the government declared Hindraf an illegal organisation. But, was Hindraf actually legal before this? They submitted an application to the Registrar of Soceity in October last year to be registered and to date their application has not been approved. Therefore Hindraf was not a legal organisation after all. So whats the purpose of the ban anyway? I am a Malay and not for or against Hindraf. I believe every citizen should be given the opportunity to socialize and when they applied to run legally, it will be easier for the authority to keep track of their activities and movements. Now that the organisation is declared illegal, does that mean Hindraf will cease their activities. There is the possibilities that the hardcore will go underground and it will be more dangeruous than if they operate legally.

The main reason for the ban is because they create havoc at the PMs open house on the last Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. They came in groups wearing orange and were said "accused" of creating fear among the guests present. If I am not mistaken the reason they attended PMs open house is to meet the PM himself because on other occasion, they were denied of meeting. The PM will always be busy and sent representatives to meet them. This is the only opportunity to meet the PM in person and hand in present their plight.
Last Sunday, they too attended Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's open house at Dewan Sultan Sulaiman in Kampung Baru. They are easily recognisable because they wear orange Ts and some with Hindraf written on their T shirt. I saw them mingle freely with other guests irrespective of race and creed. If the Malays and Chinese push each other to get their food, Hindraf too did the same, typical of Malaysians. Theres no such feeling of, "ah, they are Hindraf, be careful, they might kacau," Everything are so peaceful and I think that is the way all Malaysians want to be. I grab three pictures from P99 Parlimen Ampang blog depicting Hindraf members at the open house. The morale is, if you treat them well, they respect your treatment. Did they get this treatment at the PMs open house?
