It all started with a remark Ahmad had allegedly made calling the Chinese pendatang (immigrants) and was also reported to have said that “as the Chinese were only immigrants it was impossible to achieve equal rights amongst races” during a ceramah in Permatang Pauh on Aug 25. His remark created outcries from within Barisan Chinese based component parties of MCA and Gerakan. Pressure on him to retract his word was responded with him to still stand on his saying. Not even the PM can make him retract it which lead to the TPM represent him to say sorry but that was not enough from the Chinese community. They still wanted Datuk Ahmad himself say sorry which he refused and in return accused that reporters misquoted him.
Ahmad's case did not stop there when PDC made a report to the police and Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) over alleged misappropriation of funds involving former senator Datuk Ahmad Ismail and the now-defunct company Popular Profile Sdn Bhd (PPSB). However former premier Tun M was in support of Ahmad.
When things can'r even be resolved with PM's advise, there is talk that Gerakan may quit Barisan which was reported in The Star. Tan Sri Dr Koh then denied and said Gerakan would not be overwhelmed by sentiments or emotions when making a decision on its political future.
When things are getting hotter, Ahmad came up with another new sub plot when he tell Gerakan to get out of BN. This just show that the rift in BN is not only among UMNOs but also involving component arties of BN. They are getting into deeper shit. Do you smell shit? Oh, remember the controvesial novel by our National Laurette Datuk Shahnon Ahmad in late 90s?
