The Heat In Permatang Pauh

The most important even today in Malaysia (26th August 2008) is the P44 Permatang Pauh Parliamentary by-election. There is a three cornered contest between PKR - BN - AKIM. This election is very significant because it can determine the future of Malaysia. All eyes and ears will be focused on Permatang Pauh. Can PRK through Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim retain the seat that was vacated by his wife Datil Seri Azizah who won the seat during the previous General election with a greater majority compared with the 11th GE.

I am now in Kuala Lumpur and the only way to keep track with the "festivities" in Permatang Pauh is only through the blogs. In todays world of technology it is possible to keep updated through the world wide web. I am sure the whole world is looking at this election because Datuk Seri anwar Ibrahim is one man who is respected worldwide. Malaysians all over the world will also be interested in the election especially the outcome because most are expecting a new government and a new more capable Prime Minister to lead Malaysia.

I have been depending on this blog Malaysiakita because it has the latest 50 blogs updated in real time. While reading this blog I think we can now use real time reporting in future where postings are sent to the www as and when it is happening. With the use of mobile broadband equipment logging on to the internet can be done everywhere as long as there is 3G, EDGE or HSDPA coverage. Why not we use this medium to keep interested parties updated by minutes. Now I am depending on Tukar Tiub for the latest update. Next time maybe political parties can deploy their bloggers to report in real time.
