Tan Sri Khalid Selangor has harred village head in Selangor from using state facilities. It was reported in The Star. Those village head concerned were appointed by the Federal government. Facilities barred from their use includes multipurpose and community halls.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said that the state government has barred the 362 federal government village head appointees from using the public facilities to hold festive gatherings or to meet the people.
“Our reason is simple, we do not recognise the federal government appointees under the Village Safety and Development Committee - Federal (JKKKP) as we have our own appointees under the Village Safety and Development Committee (JKKK),” he said. - The Star.
The question is why do the Federal Government has to meddle in state affairs. The state government was chosen by the people through elections and the illegal appointment of the village heads by the Federal Government means that they do not recognise the peoples choice. When they want the people to respect the peoples choice of government, they themselves show disrespect. Who are actually the one who is trying to create rifts between the people. Pakatan Rakyat or Barisan National?
