Yesterday I experience the human jam at the Masjid Jamek LRT station. I know this post will tickle most of the readers who has been experiencing it for months or maybe years now. Even though it is not as serious as that in Tokyo, Hong Kong or any other part of the world with high density of people, what I experience is something out of my normal daily routine. I do not have to face any jams either on the road or anywhere else daily because from my home to the office is just less than 5 minutes driving. Oh my, at this time of high fuel price also drive to work a?........
I was on my way to Ampang Park using the LRT because I do not drive into the city due to the jams and it is much much cheaper to travel by public transport since its very convenient as I am concern. Travelling on LRT means I can arrive at my destination on time instead of uncertainties if I drive.
I am not sure if the situation the same daily since I seldom travel at that particular time but from the station announcement, there is a technical glitch and the train from Kelana Jaya towards Terminal Putra. There was a few lines of long queue before the ticketing gate and and also on the platform. Traffic is quite smooth flowing on the Terminal Putra Kelana Jaya route.
I am not sure for how long I have to stand in the queue but after the fourth train only I can board and it was jam packed too. I am not complaining but just relating my experience. However the arrival of the train in a short duration of time helps dampen the stress of waiting in the queue. I think within 10 minutes from the first train that arrive after the technical breakdown until I board the train, RapidKL can be commended for the quick restoration. The heavy traffic that occured can't be helped because it was the peak hour when people are going back home after office and that too contribute to the 'human jam".
On my way back from KLCC, I have to queue again because it was about 9.00 o clock and people are going back from shopping or work at and around KLCC. I queue at the ticket vending machine and when I arrive at the machine I found out that the machine only accepts coins. Now why there is no visible notice that the machine only accepts coins. It was only shown on the screen which is too late for those who had queued up. So I have to buy the ticket from the ticket counter and have to queue triple the length of what I did at the vending machine.
Thats an experience.
