Kuala Lumpur City Portal

THIS PORTAL IS NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE - AUGUST 2012

Kuala Lumpur now has a portal. Click HERE to go to the portal.
After visiting it I found it contain useful information not only abut the city but also has links to major newspapers in Malaysia besides various departments in the country.

There is also links to popular emails provider i.e. Yahoomail, MSN Hotmails and Gmails besides her own Kulmail (cool?). Kulmail provide 6.8 Gb of space.

If you register with the website you can personalise your start up page with calender and enjoy many other applications to add fun to your emailing activities.... its FREE..

KLites can setup this website as a default homepage after registering instead of the usual search engines of Yahoo, Google or MSN. Since its a local portal, it might serve KLites with more local flavour especially the latest top news and happenings in the country.

The portal also has a DVR player and you can listen to local radio while surfing.

About Kul.com.my (copied from the website)

Kul.com.my is an information and news portal about Kuala Lumpur in a single dynamic website thus making it accessible and convenient for the ‘web-surfers’ to look for information from one site. It is also Kul’s aim to engage the people of KL to actively promote Kuala Lumpur as a major destination for tourism and commerce. We want to highlight the best that the city has to offer in an objective and transparent manner. The objectives are:
  1. To create content-intensive portal for speedier information access/search about Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.
  2. To enhance web presence for the existing government, non-governmental & public and private sector websites/portals via web linkages.
  3. To boost economic activity for SMEs and private sectors by enhancing their business presence in the World stage.
  4. To create a local & global web community enabling interactive sharing of views and opinions.
  5. To provide a forum for KL Lites to contribute in community development through the internet
We also provide ways to access all this information without making a special trip to other search engines. The Google Toolbar enables you to conduct a Google search from anywhere on the web.
