Today I am in parliament. No!, I am not an MP but just a visitor who is here for official assignment.
I was expecting some hot debate in relation to the SAPP talk about vote of no confidence to the PM. As the morning session break for lunch there is nothing about the much talked about expectation.
The morning session Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs tabled a motion asking support from all parties regarding the price increase
After the table of motion, MP for Muar supported the motion but Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng who is also Chief Minister of Penang, disagree with the governments move to exhorbitant hike in fuel price recently. He reiterated in fact those with low income be given a subsidy of RM6,000 yearly which created an argument among the BN backbenchers. However the heat was calmed down because of the lunch break when Marang MP, Tuan Guru Datuk Seri Haji Hadi Awang was responding halfway to the motion.
UPDATED
As expected BN backbenchers will always support the motion even though it means sacrificing the livelihood of the people. MP for Pokok Sena congratulated BN for their effort in making the people who voted for them into office, into hardship. The motion received 129 votes for and 78 against.
There was quite a heated argument between backbenchers and the opposition after the Deputy Speaker proceeded with vocal voting when Ipoh Barat MP stand to object. However Tan Sri Pandikar then over rule the earlier voting after opposition MPs read out the Point of Order to nullify the voting.
