The Star published what it recorded as most viewed "Sarawak Hit by Post- election Blues". I would like to quote two paragraphs as below;
Voters in urban and remote areas benefited tremendously because the Barisan gave instant approval during ceramahs for new schools, community halls, road construction, small-scale kampung projects and longhouse upgrading.
Some urban residents received handsome discounts in land leases while others had instant renewals. In Miri, some shopowners in China Street received discounts of up to RM80,000 for land leases from the Land and Survey Department courtesy of the Barisan.
Why do people still trust them when they reward the rakyat only on a seasonal basis. Now they have to wait for about another four years before they get another round of good fortune.
