Hindraff Aftershock

The Hindraf rally attended by more than 4,000 supporters (police statistics) now created an aftershock. It does not just end there. The issue of the rally still being discussed. But however, unexpectedly Hindraf did gave a wake call to many parties and I think it now is benefiting the Indian community even those who does not agree with the rally. Datuk Seri Samy Velu and MIC has now woke up and are looking into their affairs. If Hindraf did not take any action, do you think this will happen? So does public rally is a nuisance. Remember the signage, "Kerja-kerja menaik taraf sedang dijalankan untuk keselesaan anda di masa hadapan. Segala kesulitan aatlah dikesali". Public rally is equals to "kerja-kerja menaik taraf"

I am not in favour of these public rallies but if democratic dealings falls into deaf ears (as it is happening in Malaysia) then its the next resort and I give moral support.

Prof Emeritus Datuk Khoo Kay Kim says that the problem of poor Indians is not related to Malays or Chinese but an internal problem that has to be looked into by MIC.

Seems that Hindraff might be a popular search word this week. I am surprised to see that at the time updating this blog, I have 142 hits and 21 visitors. My live traffic feed shows that all my visitors come to this blog post. At the end of the day I had 286 hits, the second highest. The highest hit per day was on 25th September 2007- 298 hits.

You can read more updated related to Hindraff (aftershock) at screenshots.

Short is his memory and long is the Sufferings & Pain of the Indians. PM Abdullah has stated he has BIG EARS and Samy Vellu also claimed that PM Abdullah has “never shut his eyes or EARS to their plight then ”what happened to the 18-point Memo that was submitted more than 3 months ago?.” Shredded and thrown in the waste paper basket?
And for the first time when an MIC MP (Cameron Highlands) opened his mouth to express his concerns on the Indian Plight in the country (that was so glaringly highlighted in the Sunday Rally protest) he was told curtly to resign from the MIC by an UMNO Minister. So what hope is there through legitimate means except by “streets demo” to draw the attention to their plight?

Just to share my 2-sen what the raykat can do together...

Wear a yellow T-shirt every Saturday
Till our nation is back on its feet.

Time to Walk The Talk,
time to stop the blame,
time to stop the rot,
time to heal,
time to rebuild the nation.

For our future and our children's future
for We are all ONE.
When One is harmed, all are harmed.
When One is helped, all are healed.

Time to show we care
Time to literally Walk the Talk
Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia!
Time to stand up and be counted.

"How?," you may ask.
"I just small fry (ikan bilis) lah,"
in frustration you add.
Bravely you declare...
"Never mind the water cannons,
it's monsoon season anyway!"

But on second thoughts, you cry…
“Tear gas I scared; I get beaten up how?"
"I still have parents depending on me!”
“Gotta think of my children!”;
“Gotta put food on the table!”

OK, OK, i hear you.
Here's something you CAN DO...

Wear a yellow T-shirt every Saturday
Your entire family members too
Show your solidarity.
“Saya Anak Malaysia”; “Malaysia Truly Asia”
Demonstrated and expressed by you and me
The simple folks on the street.

In the park, shopping mall or wet market
When you see another in yellow
Don’t be shy; smile, nod your head,
Bersalam, our Malaysian custom
– by placing your palms to your chest
or just one palm, Salam means peace.

Wear a yellow T-shirt every Saturday
Till our nation is back on its feet.
