Oh, My Car

Yesterday during lunch hour as usual I will go back to my house as usual. My house from the office is just about 5 minutes drive away. I tried to start my car but the engine can't get started. What come in my mind it can either be my battery, the alternator or the starter. I knew this time will come because there is some tell tale sign for a few days before. Ant now the time has come. So I can't go back because I don't to walk back in the hot sun while fasting. So I did not go back.

Later called the mechanic who usually come over to our apartments whenever there are cars to be repaired. He was tied up to another car, one who stayed at the same apartment as me. He has to get the car fixed and promise to come today (19th Sept). So I have to walk back home in the evening leaving my car at the office.

This morning he called and came to check the car. As expected two of the three items have to be replaced. Last year in April, while I and a friend was on the way to Subang, my car did gave me a warning. Suddenly the lights get dim and I suspect its the alternator that did not recharge the battery. Since I have to be in Subang for a function, I decided to call a cab. After about an hour, when no cab arrives I called the company again and the answer is "Maaf, cik, tak ada teksi" @#$^&$%*)(%$@!#$%^&*(&*%$. After half an hour and they just let me wait there without informing that there's no taxi. If I did not call them again, I will not know whether a taxi will be coming or not. Know what? its the same taxi company that I wrote in my blog previously. SUNLIGHT TAXI.

I called AAM since I am a member. When AAM mechanics came he found out the cable from the alternator was disconnected and therefore it does not recharge the battery causing it to become weak with the use of quite a number of electrical components. After fixing it, he told me that I must change the alternator to a higher AMP due to many electrical equipment on my car. Well, I can say that I am a bit stubborn. I use that same alternator till today, 17 months later.

UPDATED 3.32 pm.

I got the bill for the repair
1 pc AMPCO Battery NS60L ............RM 155.00
1 pc Alternator (3 month warranty) RM 180.00
Workmanship .......................................RM 20.00

So I am poorer by RM355 today.

Yes, I always find that the car create problem at a convenient place, either at my office or home. Thats why I love the car even though its already considered an old car.
