Xperience - I missed My Flight

This is really another experience in my life. As I have blogged before this that I am going to Sibu and Kapit to find new things to blog. However as the Malay saying goes, "Kita hanya merancang, Allah yang menentukan" (We can only plan, but Allah fulfils). Well, I miss the trip. This is why.

After the Friday prayer I went to KL Central to endorse my ticket and have to pay RM 70.00 for issuance of a new ticket. Remember it was a redeemed ticket using my Enrich membership point. So after getting my new ticket, I straight away go to the check-in counter since I am not taking along any check-in luggage. So after receiving my boarding pass, I need not hurry to the airport later in the evening. As usual I requested for my favourite seat 27 F. See the picture of my boarding pass.

I decided to leave early from office so that I can leave home at 5.00 to the Bandar Tasik Selatan ERL Station. From there I can take the ERL (Express Rail Link) transit which will take me about 28 minutes to KLIA. At 5.00 I called Sunlight Taxi to send me a taxi so that I can go to Bandar Tasik Selatan station. The line was disconnected before I could tell my exact location. After I went down to the ground floor from my 6th floor house, I called the taxi company again to check my request and the lady who answered me asked me to hold on to the line so she can check. I hold on to the line for 15 minutes before decided to hang up and call again. The same thing happens when I was asked to hold on to the line and again it took about 15 minutes. Time is running short. It was about 5.30 when the lady on the line told me harshly, "Tak ada teksi!" and hung up. So rude. Hope people from LPKP reads this.

I know I will be late but never give up. So I decided to take my car and drive to Bandar Tasek Selatan station and park it there. I arrived the station at 5.45 p.m. after braving the jam along the KL-Seremban highway, breaking the rule whenever I can. It was raining quite heavily.

At the station, where I buy the train ticket, I was told that the next train will arrive at 6.10 p.m. 6.10 pm!!!!!. I will never make it to KLIA on time. Even though I arrive at 6.25, I will not be able to board the plane, since usually the gate close 10 minutes before fake-off. After entering the platform, I called MAS hotline 1300883000 and again have to wait for about 15 minutes listening to the advertisement before finally the operator answer me. I told her that I was a check-in passenger but was stranded at Bandar Tasik Selatan and couldn't make it before 6.30. She couldn't help either since the next flight to Sibu will e 8.50 a.m the next morning and my ticket can't be changed to another flight since its a redeemed ticket. So to be fair to MAS and maybe waiting list passenger, I asked her to cancel my check in and give my seat to another passenger.

However I still proceed to KLIA. Who knows lady luck might be on my side and the KL-Sibu flight is delayed and I might be able to get onto the plane. Even the speed of the ERL is slow enough for a man like me who is chasing precious time. Well, I arrived KLIA at 6.28 p.m. Went up to Departure lounge to check flight information , usually at the end of the check in counter but its not there. I have to look somewhere else.

Suddenly my heart jumps when I saw the flight to Sibu is delayed. On counter checking it was Air Asia not MAS. And flight MH 2718 was displayed as departed. My heart sank. I miss the flight.

However I still have something to blog about. This is what I mean an experience in life. This is my 3rd time I missed my flight. However on the first two, I manage to get onto the next available flight since it was a purchased ticket.

Aww too bad you've missed your flight. Pretty annoying of that taxi station. I'd make a complaint out to the LPKP.

I can complain but LPKP will always take the easy way that they need proof and moreover the incident was not recorded. BTW, thanks ian for your comment.

'Good thing takes time'...May be it is a blessing in disguise in missing this flight. What, i do not know...

But it was the process that is really frustrating. Ya, please do try and make a complaint regarding the taxi service.

As a muslim, I subscribe to the belief that whatever happens that is not for us, is actually a blessing in disguise.
