I find that this week is quite stressful for me. Eventhough I am in office but preparing for the coming activities do woke me up very early in the morning. This morning I woke up (without hearing the Subuh prayer call) and think about the pile of work waiting for me at the office.
Next week I have a programme in Labuan from Monday to Friday and 80% of things have not yet been settled. I still did not confirm my instructors and just have 3 days to work it out. The problem is that the organiser is quite reluctant to get the tickets for my instructors from Sabah and Kuala Lumpur including me. However I can apply from my office but it is not right since this program is not in my calendar. It is applied by a third party but since they are going to use the official curriculum that I am taking care of, I have to be involved. I have to monitor everything to maintain the quality.
I decided to apply the ticket from my office since I do not want to fail in my duty. I have been maintaining my clean record since 1995, organising every program without fail eventhough at home I single handedly (with my clerk's help of course) prepare everything. What I mean handling it single-handedly is that I am the only man taking care of this program for the whole of Malaysia. thats why I travel a lot. At times I was not at the office for 3-4 consecutive weeks and just go back to the office on Saturdays to change files. Lucky I have an efficient clerk.
I consider myself very lucky because Allah did not take away my health that can constitute to failure of my programme. Thank God. Very lucky enough that I had a minimum medical bill to my account. Just once in a while a headache, flu or cough and nothing serious that land me on the hospital bed.
Today at the office I settled everything for next week and just wait for my air ticket to be issued. Actually next week there will be 4 courses, two in Kuantan, one in Kuala Lumpur and one in Labuan. I just handle Labuan and give away the other three to my colleague who join us early this year. However I am still the man responsible taking care of the whole programme.
After settling one problem, I still have three more program to be organised immediately after Labuan, one in Penang followed by a three days seminar in Malacca on the weekend. From Malacca I will have to leave early to Brunei and then at Genting Highlands. Every program will take me 5 days from Mondays to Fridays. So I am looking forward to be back working at my office table again on the 8th of September.
So you can see that my life is very hectic and my friend called me an insane officer. Insane or not I do love my job and my work. I am happy with it. I tell my friends that if they can see me in the office it means I don;t have any work to do.

Sometimes the hectic life make us gets going but do get some time to get away from it all. Go for recreation, free the mind from work and stress and also don't forget to do a medical checkup. We never know what ill is affecting us until it's too late.As for me the stresses affects my health and I'm semi retired at 40, not content, things change but life goes on.
Ya, must take care of health. But at least u r doing something you like and can be passionate about it. Doing some thing u like reduces half of the stress level.
All the best on ur trip and have a great weekend.
Wwooo..tats wat I called passion in work. Keep it up!! :)
A person's health is the most important thing to see to. There are such people who need to put their energy in some business. But one should remember that too much stress can lead to unnecessary circumstances. That's why take care of yourself.
