This is the most historical picture whenever Malaysian talk, discuss and celebrate Independence. The picture depicting the late Tunku Abdul Rahman proclaiming the country's Independence at Stadium Merdeka on 31st August 1957. Starting with this blog I will post this picture in all my blog until 31 August 2007 as my gratitude to the country's Independence. If you notice the tittle of this blog I write as Malaya and I don't mean to leave out Sabah and Sarawak because both the states was independent from the British in 1963 leading to the formation of Malaysia. Hence Malaysia has not yet reached 50 year this year. History never lie.
The agreement for Malaya to be independent was reached on February 8 1958 but the official proclamation was made a year later due to communist threat posed during the Malayan emergency.

You are correct, Malaysia was formed in September 1963. Prior to that, it is only Malaya.
Technically, you're correct in that it should be Malaysia - but to keep things simple, 50 years of Independence since Tunku Adbul Rahman would suffice.
He has my utmost respect.
