I have heard of downtown KL quite sometime ago but last night I had the first taste of the might market. It is known as downtown but the location is actually not in downtown KL. It is located beside the KL Velodrome in Cheras. One can access the place through Jalan Cheras and Jalan Maharajalela.
Various items can be found such as apparels, shoes, sunglasses, phone accessories, ladies handbags etc. If you want to sing out your vioce, join the karaoke session at RM 2.00 per song. If you are stressed out, go for the foot reflexology. After a tiring walk throuhg the maze, sit down at the DBKL stalls nearby and fill up your stomach.
After walking through the maze, I took my wife for supper. At first its was interesting having candlelight supper with the loved one but towards the end of the meal, the smell of hookah smoke spoil the atmosphere. I and my wife was sitting below the wind and the hookah smokers smoking behind us. Luckily I has had my last spoon of Chinese Fried rice and Iced Lemon Tea.The place is nothing much different of a pasar malam but it is more ogranised. Pasar malam which started in the 70s and many people are familiar with the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman pasar malam (night market). Organising such market can help businessman with low capital to start up a business since overhead is very low most of which goes to investing in the goods to be sold. This Downtown is managed by Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Pengasih, a NGO in helping victims of drugs go back to society.
After window shopping (er, I mean stall shopping) fill up your belly at the food court nearby.
