Travel - A Trip To Bukit Bintang

Went out to Bukit Bintang with my wife and my intention was to buy a new handphone. Read my previous blog. As usual I hate driving into the city since there no time when there is no jam in Kuala Lumpur. Luckily my home and the city is accessible by LRT. It saves me petrol money, parking, and stress being caught in the jam.

On the LRT from Bukit Jalil (National Sports Complex) to Hang Tuah station where I changed to the KL Monorail. One way fare is RM 1.90

Changed to KL Monorail at Hang Tuah station. From Hang Tuah to Bukit Bintang the fare is RM 1.20. Along the way one can have an aerial view of the Pudu Jail which now hosed the Hang Tuah police station. Along the route the monorail will stop at the Imbi station where you can go to Time Square without stepping onto the road below. A Turkish ice cream peddlar selling his antique. It is quite entertaining watching him advertising his business. He run his business in front of BB Plaza near one of the entrance into the shopping complex.

An open stalls selling varied items including Shoes, sunglasses, watches, leather goods, perfume and apparels. However you will not find the high end product from boutique here eventhough the have International brands in the shelf. It can be considered a mini mini China Town (Petaling Street)

This is Jalan Bukit Bintang. Along this road is two hotels , The Federal and Century Mahkota Hotel. However there is also some budget hotels for backpackers or those who travel on a shoestring budget. This road is bustling with activities day and night. Along the road you can find Reflexology services that cost around RM 25.00. The image of Bukit Bintang has been tarnished by the flesh trade at night. However be aware if you are looking for ONS since as in other parts of the world women in the flesh trade is guarded.

Had dinner with my wife at this Egypt Cafe at the side of BB Plaza. Beside filling your belly, patrons can also enjoy smoking Hookah. I am not sure whether it is called by that name in Middle East or here in KL. It is my first time trying Egyptian dish. The three pictures below are what we ordered for dinner.

Thats my favourite drink Iced Lemon Tea and my wife hot Milo drink .

I ordered this. Its Lamb Chop

My wife ordered this.

While enjoying our food, a foreigner came along and place this card and key chain on the tables. Well, in other word its begging but the softer way. Selling things disguising as donations. The purpose of the card is to tell "prospect donors" that he is deaf and dumb. A piece of this key chain cum bottle opener is RM 6.00 but if one buy two it just costs RM 10.00. I bought two for my kids.

Street musician performing "aborigine music" with aboriginal windpipes. They actually sell VCD of music that they play and a piece costs RM 10.00.

On the way back. KL Monorail
