Travel - I Stayed At Lisbon

Well, don't be surprised by the tittle. Actually I did not go to Portugal but just walk back in memories of history. It was my first time entering the Portuguese settlement in Malacca after so many times visiting the historical city. Just beside the Malacca Straits at the end of the road into the settlement is a brand new hotel named The Lisbon. So does that warrant me to say that I stayed at Lisbon?

Going to the hotel is quite easy even though on my first attempt I seem to be a bit lost and arrived late than the schedule time I have to be there. However I manage to find it after some asking and inquiring here and there. Going back to Melaka Raya from the hotel is much more easier because its a straight road (Jalan Albuquerque) and just takes less than 5 minutes to reach (depending on the traffic condition). I am not going to write much about the hotel as you can read it from their website. I am just uploading my own pictures for this blog.

The experience I had was being able to see the settlement which has been transformed into the Malaysian environment except for the descendant of the Portuguese. I miss visiting the museum at Portuguese Square just about 60 metres away from the hotel.

My Rating (out of 5 star)

Room - 3 star
Reception - 4 star
Food - 2 Star
Facilities - 3 star (however there is still no WiFi of internet facilities either at the lobby or in room)

The piazza surrounded by the hotel building.

One of the seaview scenery from the hotel. In the background is Pulau Melaka.

The room where I stayed

The Portuguese Square
Open air food stall serving Portuguese delicasies. However I did not try anything but a glass of carrot juice.
