BERNAS has announced the price increase of rice. However according to BERNAS, the price increase is minimum which will affect about 50 to 70 cents a month. The increase at the wholesale level was effective from 1st July 2007 between 5 cents and 20 cents depending on the grade of rice.
Whenever there is an increase in price of any essential items, it will create a chain effect. So after this MY Nasi Lemak will also increase lor. When everything increases, cost of living will be raised and the most affected group of people are those who does not have a fixed income.
