Nasi Lemak @ Tapah R&R Northbound

I was sitting over lunch with a friend in Alor Setar. He just arrived from Kuala Lumpur in the morning and he was complaining about the price of Nasi Lemak at the Tapah RnR. He was mad because the price does not represent the logic of pricing which might be equivalent to excessive profit making.

When he wanted to buy the pre-packed nasi lemak with a quarter boiled egg at the price of RM 1.20 (normal price, I think), he was told that all the packets were already booked by someone else. So he wanted the seller to serve him a new pack with full egg. He was asked RM 2.50 for the pack. RM 2.50 for nasi lemak with one boiled egg and RM 1.20 for the same nasi lemak but with just a quarter egg. Did you find anything fishy? No?

Well, the price difference is RM 1.30. So does that means a quarter boiled egg costs about 43 cents. Then when you buy a full egg it will cost about RM 1.72 cents. Considering the price of raw egg is 30 cents then that nasi lemak seller at Tapah RnR is making a profit of RM 1.42 just to boil the egg. Do you think the profit he makes is excessive? This is not Skim Cepat Kaya, I suppose.

People at PLUS might not read this blog, but hope some reader who come across this can help check the pricing. Hi KPDNHEP I know you are very busy these days prior to the salary increase for government servants in July which will make you more busy. I admire your duty for our sake.
